I used an AR code to view my SID. It's supposed to be easy to find using Pokecheck but I haven't done it personally. ID/SID is used for shininess so if you are wanting a shiny, you'll need both.

Sorry about the length on that mug. I'm not good at being concise. :) There's not an item to pass down ability. It will be determined by your PID frame. It's to the right of the nature in RNG Reporter.

International parents give you more shiny frames. That's about it. If I already have the seed, the parents I need, and I'm not using an everstone, it probably takes me 20 minutes or less most of the time. Sometimes, my timer0 makes things difficult and sometimes I hit my frame on my first try. (If you aren't using an everstone, Instead of taking the first thing the man will give you to find your starting frame, I take my target frame # and subtract my calculated starting frame and about four more to account for NPCs and then chatter that amount. Then, if I don't hit my desired frame, I can still look around it to see where I landed and how I need to adjust. About 1/4 of the time, this approach lets me get the right egg on my first try and when it doesn't it still doesn't make it take any longer.) Just make sure you always check the ivs or at least the characteristic of any egg you hatch so you know whether you hit your seed or whether your timer0 messed you up.

The flawless one is Timid (+speed, -atk). I also have a Quiet one (+SpA,-Speed) with 31 in everything but attack. A little advice that in my opinion makes breeding easier, don't use an everstone if you don't have to. It will make RNG Reporter take longer to find a good frame but it makes it SO much easier to find your starting frame. I do projects much faster now without an everstone than I had been with one. For modest... how about Hydreigon? He needs egg moves so he is a better breed than capture but he probably needs the speed from Timid more... Lilligant would be cool.
