About 1: I am sure that all was just the unreleased info WPM was holding; he hinted at it during all the MageLeif debacle on /vp/, so he knew it already. Now 2's a good point and is the reason I don't trust those rumors 100%. That, and the fact MageLeif didn't make a single mention to that supposed "bonding mechanic" Masuda mentioned on his devblog.

Buuuuut the rumors still have that benefit of doubt, as he got the CoroCoro names right. So, for now, they'll be allowed.

Hey, you said something about some of Pokébeach's rumors being fake. Do you have any links confirming that, by chance? I'm curious as to why those would be fake, I don't think WPM would be that gullible.
