Sorry it took me a while to get back to you. Honestly, there pretty much the same thing except that you have to worry about frames. That gets a little tricky because you have to count them, but it's not bad. I'd start with a standing legend, they're a little easier than eggs because there is no NPC.

I would attempt RNG in HGSS first.

First off you will need to do a calibration to see if what your delay range are and what your second is.
This is done by syncing you ds to a clock, softresting on the next minute and quickly entering the game. Once you enter the game mkae note of your time and date, go catch a high level pokemon 49+ and put its information in the rngreporter seed finder. If you put it in correctly you should get a delay that between 480~500 and seconds that are 12~15. Do this about 9 more times and make a list of your result
Have your read some of the guide in the rng help page?
Do you know how to use a timer (as in pikatimer(on the first page of the rng help) or toastoneplus timer?
