  • Haha, it can be a troll sometimes. :) My Karrablast came out nice but I'm going to redo it today so so that it will have Knock Off too. I'm working on a whole flock of Honchkrow right now. :P
    It sounds like once or twice you may have hit your bad timer0. It sounds like 97 was probably right. I'd try it a couple more times and see if you still get the same thing.

    Plug the seed into Method 5 (Standard Seed) and IVs should pop up. The egg gets its IVs fromFrame 8. The next monster you encounter gets its IVs from Frame 14/15

    Also after collecting the egg Sweet Scent a pokemon from the grass to the left and check its chracterictic compared to the IVs from Frame 14 or 15. That way you'll know whether you hit your Timer0 or not.

    I find setting "Pokemon Info>Status" as the first thing on your shortcut menu stops you from accidentally Exiting the Menu. Just hit Y instead :)
    The calculate button still works but the NPCs will advance it a bit farther. When you get into the game, bring up your menu as fast as possible, then back out and accept the egg as fast as possible. By comparing the pokemon you hatch from it with the PID frames shortly after your calculated initial frame, you'll know what you need to use as a starting frame.
    Hold them through it. I hold mine down until the Star shows up that shoots across the screen.
    They aren't necessary but they give you a lot more seeds to choose from. For very specific searches (all 6 ivs, ability, encounter slot, etc) keypresses may allow you to find matches when you have none without keypresses.
    NPCs don't make it that much harder. Basically, they change your starting frame. Around the daycare, they usually advance it by somewhere around four. So you usually have to try once, see where you landed and then adjust. It just adds a step. However, if I just add 4 to my starting frame and try it from there (ex. pretending your starting frame is 51 instead of 47), I often get it on my first try. Also, everstones make finding your initial frame harder because they make lots of frames look the same.

    That was the only thing that made sense to me but I know you thought you checked it. Congrats on figuring it out though. I have bunches of TR Pokemon but no Venipede yet. :)

    Rotating NPCs don't always advance the PID frame. The one at P2Laboratory doesn't. But in general, NPCs advance it an unpredictable amount but it will be consistent if you are starting from the same save and go to the menu to sweet scent as early as possible. As long as you are using chatots and an IV frame of 1, which you are, NPCs really only complicate finding your new starting frame. Once you find it, everything should work the same as without them.
    Yeah, but since you are using chatots it shouldn't matter much since you can advance the PIDframe with the menu up. You just need to Sweet Scent without chattering once to find your starting frame. So enter the game and sweet scent asap. I'm sorry I can't figure out what's going wrong in Lostlorn. You've stumped me. :3
    Well, it still doesn't make any sense to me. I think I'd try going to the Pinwheel Forest interior in case the encounter slots are wrong for Lostlorn. I doubt they're off but I don't know what else to try.
    Then that's still odd. Can you send me a pic of the Time Finder Screen? I know you checked it but it really seems like the wrong seed has been copied into PIDRNG since your ivs match. Unless there is a TON of NPC movement, I can't figure out what else is wrong.
    Sorry, but the link didn't take me to the pokes details. Just some sign up page. This is really weird because even NPCs couldn't advance the PIDRNG that much.
    Well, 62 is way to many but the Swadloon still doesn't make sense. If you are shooting for the Brave Venipede on frame 63, 63 - 45(your starting frame) is only 18 (it may be less if NPCs are advancing the frame.) But since the first time a Serious Slot 3 occurs is well into the thousands, you have another problem. A few things to check: Make sure that the seed you have copied into PIDRNG is the same one you are using. (I'm sure it is but might as well double check) If you are using the right seed, I think you're missing your seed when you get that Swadloon. Do all six of the ivs match up? ... and your C-Gear is off, right?
    OK. Are you advancing with Chatots? Which frame are you shooting for and what are you hitting instead?
    OK, send me your seed. Also, are you advancing the frame with chatot calls? If you are, you should at least be getting consistent results when you hit your seed.
