Dong man pretty much stands for Anime (manga in Mando is man hua, so lit. moving manga, I think...?) but Comic probably works too, I guess? There are many figurine stores in Shanghai, so perhaps you even found another that I missed. *___*
Aw, that's a pity! You've only seen one? There's a massive hobby complex called "Dong Man Chen" (I think literally Anime City) that's pretty much a mini mall full of figure stores. Also, there's a small street called "Wen Miao jie" (iirc) that also has plenty of stores. They're mostly legit too, not bootlegged like in other places. It was like a dream come true. heheheh
