Nah the timing isn't weird. I think Wild Eep wants to stop it before other people start to offer such pokemon. At least I can say that I didn't use any spreads that the game wouldn't give me. Even though there is a legal Method X spread with 31s in HP for Timid and Bold HP Ice I didn't use them because the game wouldn't give them to me.
I hope that Wild Eep was simply unaware of the RAM hack issue but I doubt it. More like it simply got swept under the rug until now for whatever reason.
Yeah. Should be a blanket ban on all RAM hacked pokemon though IMO. Shouldn't just single out specific games.
