Here it runs at 200% speed and I bet it runs at even higher speeds at better computers.
I use version 8.31. Yeah very outdated xD But since I don't really RNG at 5G games for now no need to change :)

the emulator runs two times faster then the real cart.
oh, yeah. It probably takes like 15 hours or so on a cart.
If you're completely free it takes about 5 or 6 hours to get to the elite 4 (platinum). But you usually wont be able to play 5 uninterruped hours, it wears you down :\
