  • Actually I'll have to send you my memory card dump and you'll have to start a new game. I can't even use my save file. So long Adamant 31/31/31/24/31/31 Teddiursa. :/
If you want I can get your pokemon from your XD save. However you'll have to start a new save with my memory card dump file. Please make sure that you only use XD: Gale of Darkness with that memory card to minimize the chance that it wouldn't work. I will be doing the same (I don't have any other GC games besides F-Zero GX, which is already on the memory card). I don't actually own the transfer cable but I can borrow it from a friend. Also just because F-Zero GX worked doesn't necessarily mean that XD will work. Once it ships in I will test that as well.

If you want me to get the save files from your XD save let me know.
OMG Success! I dumped my memory card with no saves on it, created a save of F-Zero GX in Dolphin, and imported the save on to the memory card and it worked! All I needed the whole time was to use the memory card dump.

Now because save files have to be restored individually there will be some restrictions on it. You will have to start a new save using the dump of the memory card you wish to use. Furthermore I believe the amount of other save files cannot change. So whatever save files you have on the memory card file before you create the XD game MUST always be there and never moved. I don't think there are games that change the amount of blocks the save uses or not as they simply create new entries.

    continued in the next VM...
Huh that's odd... I've been trying with the Wii version of GCMM and no dice. I'm going to try the other tool. <- posted that in my VMs... whoops

I've tried it and I can get the F-Zero GX using my MC save on the emulator (it has even tougher save protection I've heard) but when I write the memory card file back to the MC it corrupts it. So close...

I'm going to try individual saves now.
Interesting... One of the tools seems to be copying the entire memory card file or something. Hope it does that both ways. I'm going to test that out soon.
I'm sure they get a lot of requests for it. It would require a team effort from both people behind Dolphin and VBA because noone can be sure which emulator has the problem. I'm leaning towards Dolphin though.
Yeah I know... but at least I'll be able to know what is possible and what isn't. Plus if there's no way to transfer it that's the best that can be done.
Yeah same here. I just ordered XD btw so if it doesn't work I could at least SR for stuff.
Bah the damn AR won't let me add that save code. It's saying that it's for another game. I even tried deleting all the extra codes from the memory card and it still won't let me add it.

Also, I forgot to use the Master Code for XD when I tried the save code on the emulator but it still won't let me use a different save...
Okay....I'll make a decision by Monday, and we'll do the delivery Monday or Tuesday, then.
No I only had it for a day. :/

Edit: Bah, can't figure out how to save the code after I enter it.
Got the AR running. It turns out the cMIOS required was the same one that I had to install on my friend's Wii so he could play XD from a backup. So I didn't have to worry too much when the MIOS patcher failed.

Unfortunately you need a retail disc to use the AR so I have to wait until XD ships in to do any tests. And you're able to add codes so that's good.
Yeah probably. The thing comes with the codes in some file. I'm going to install and test it now.
Oh yeah, that AR app has the codes from the latest AR device so if that save code was with the official codes it would be there. If not I don't think there's a way to add it unfortunately as I've heard that the later versions of the AR doesn't allow you to add codes or something.
Ok. I'm going to buy a copy of XD from EBay so hopefully I'll be able to test this stuff myself.
