    Choose a time, like say...18:30.30. Set your DS Clock to 18:30. Turn on your DS, wait till the time hits 18:30.30, then start the game from the DS Menu. Do not press an buttons until the Pokemon Company Logo disappears. Then start the game. Then catch the Poke and check the IVs.

    Put the results in the DS Parameter Searcher. Repeat the process at least four times, using the same time and date.

    Lol at the VM below me. Use keypresses. Even a single keypress gives you 17x as many potential seeds as using none, and using combination keypresses gives 17^2 (289x) as many seeds. Unless you're really lucky, you're frequently going to need to search two key combinations if you want to find good wild shiny frames.

    For the record, you can hold them starting either before you enter the game (from the DS main menu) or immediately after launching the game, and hold them at least until the copyright screen appears. Holding them longer doesn't hurt if you want to make sure.
    Do you have all your parameters set? Have you ever RNGed in previous before, like in previous gens? If not, I would practice hitting your seed with some other projects.

    You're using PPRNG, correct?
    I would recommend a couple of capture/breeding projects first before trying to get shinies. Once you get the hang of it, however, shinies are a piece of cake.

    Well you first need to know your SID. You can know it via AR, PokeSav, etc. Then you put it in the Time Finder Capture. Note when you find a shiny you MUST put on Standard Seed (Non C-Gear) otherwise it won't work. When you put the IVs you want then search. Then do Standard Abuse for the shiny.
    Use the parameter searcher to find your config settings. Save in an area with wild pokemon and no trainers (top of victory road is good since it's easier to identify IVs), then start the game at a specified time and date. Immediately sweet scent and catch the first pokemon that appears, checking it's IVs against an online IV calculator and inputting the possible ranges into the parameter search. It should give you a list of possible results for your Timer0, VCount and VFrame.
    ok so then after i do that, and i find a seed, lets say the frame is 6. so i walk 128 steps with 5 pokemon correct? then after that i walk into the grass find the poke and it should be the IV i wanted if all else is good?

    One thing is it's much easier to not hold the keys. So try doing your DS Parameters again. This time without holding any keys.

    You trying to to Non C-Gear abuse? In that case you must set up your DS Parameters. You must NOT use an AR if you're using one. Also when you do the seconds, count the seconds. You might be messing up by hitting the wrong seconds.
