Not at all. You would be happier just abusing on the rom, and trading the poke over to the original game. The AR you would have on the Rom would make everything easier.
Well, it's from Kazo, so it probably uses emulator to describe how to do it. I never used emulators to abuse, and it's totally possible to abuse without it (even on original games, actually). It could help when it's time to do the legendaries, but for now, you should try to learn how to use emloop or pikatimer to hit high delays. I might be able to help you with emloop, since I'm very good at finding the numbers for that program.
Yes, it does. I've abused the ID/SID for my wife on Platinum, and it was quite easy compared with HG. The problem is just that it takes more time to start a new game on Platinum than on HG.
Good luck, let me know if you have problems. Just start slow, choosing a nice spread. You could always go for Physical, if you don't want to have problems choosing Hidden Power types to be shiny.
Well, for starters, abusing the ID/SID will be a lot easier than abusing Wild pokes on a retail Heart Gold. It took me a lot less time, actually. It's all about searching for a spread, and hitting it. You just need to hit the delay, year, month, day and second. You don't have to worry about the frame. So, that's what makes it easier.
If you can tell me exactly where lies your problem, I may try to clear that up for you.
