Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Terapagos-Terastal @ Grassium Z
Ability: Tera Shell
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Solar Beam
- Tera Starstorm
- Flamethrower
Ting-Lu switches in against Terapagos, expecting to 1v1 it without issue since Ice Beam normally does 25% maximum.
But then Terap sets up a Calm Mind, and:
+1 252 SpA Terapagos-Terastal Bloom Doom (190 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Vessel of Ruin Ting-Lu: 334-394 (64.9 - 76.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
The follow-up Tera Starstorm does not always KO, however, that does not necessarily matter in this context since Ting-Lu's Earthquake 4HKOs you after Tera Shell anyway.
The project is going on a definite hiatus until NDWC V ends. We will officially be running in full force after the tournament so don't loose hope!
Non-Important Stuff 1) I will update the Hall Of Fame before we restart again.
2) We will be open to suggestions for Pokemon for new slates, just shoot a DM to me or Medasus.
Gholdengo @ Ghostium Z
Ability: Good as Gold
EVs: 252 HP / 112 Def / 84 SpD / 60 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
Bold Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Recover
Recently moving up to S on the VR, Gholdengo has cemented itself as a metagame titan, being able to dismantle many bulkier structures with ease due to its access to recovery and powerful Nasty Plot boosted Z-Moves. Its good natural bulk is complemented by an amazing ability in Good as Gold, providing it with an immunity to many otherwise crippling status moves, making it a much more reliable switch in to common defensive Pokemon. On top of this, its incredible typing leaves it with few weaknesses, making it often difficult to remove from the field quickly.
+2 252 Atk Kartana Knock Off vs. 252 HP / 112+ Def Gholdengo: 308-364 (81.4 - 96.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 Knock is sketchy even with a hazard up so we're upgrading it to catch ghold off guard.
252 Atk Kartana Black Hole Eclipse (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 112+ Def Gholdengo: 284-336 (75.1 - 88.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Leaf Blade into Black Hole Eclipse always kills with rocks up and it's even better if they're chipped and come in on a sacred sword thinking they're safe.
Also helps get the push on bulky pech and incoming mlatios.
Archaludon can't hit Gholdengo for shit becuse it never runs Dark Pulse. Metal Burst solves this issue and baits Dengo into attacking. Metal burst doesn't have Negative Prio tho so dont go around clicking it on Melmetal EQ and shit. +2 on Both moves brings you down to sturdy and metal Burst pops that mf

Ghold thinks it can just setup or nuke with z on a free switch. Little does it know its facing an AV offensive peli.
112+ SpA Pelipper Weather Ball (100 BP Water) vs. 252 HP / 84 SpD Gholdengo in Rain: 190-225 (50.2 - 59.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
0 SpA Gholdengo Never-Ending Nightmare (160 BP) vs. 72 HP / 12 SpD Assault Vest Pelipper: 195-229 (69.8 - 82%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Beats it on the 1v1, only did +0 SpA because ghold has no chance to set up(speed).
EV’d to live a modest -2 spa tclap from raging bolt from full(tbolt better tho but maybe they think itll kill and pivot also its free evs)
EV’d to have a chance to live 5 allies fainted 252 atk knock off from gambit
EV’d to live 2 sucker punches or a +2 spunch from that same gambit(but with no allies fainted)
Ive changed the EVS like 25 times now send help
All calcs:
112+ SpA Pelipper Weather Ball (100 BP Water) vs. 252 HP / 84 SpD Gholdengo in Rain: 190-225 (50.2 - 59.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
0 SpA Gholdengo Never-Ending Nightmare (160 BP) vs. 84 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Pelipper: 196-232 (69.5 - 82.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Supreme Overlord 5 allies fainted Kingambit Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 84 HP / 96 Def Pelipper: 246-289 (87.2 - 102.4%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO
252+ Atk Kingambit Sucker Punch vs. 84 HP / 96 Def Pelipper: 118-139 (41.8 - 49.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
112+ SpA Pelipper Weather Ball (100 BP Water) vs. 172 HP / 0 SpD Kingambit in Rain: 219-258 (57 - 67.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
-2 252+ SpA Raging Bolt Thunderclap vs. 84 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Pelipper: 232-280 (82.2 - 99.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Slowking-Galar Inferno Overdrive (175 BP) vs. 252 HP / 84 SpD Gholdengo: 368-434 (97.3 - 114.8%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO
The plan is simple: The Ghold uses shadow ball, you live, and then you send it back to the Stone Age. Good against other things like Ferro, Corv, Kartana, and Mega Scizor. You can also get back the health you lost from baiting Ghold in with Regenerator.
Ghol loves to switch into Lele to try to set up or thunder wave. Modest is needed to get a clean 2HKO. Alternatively, minor chip or hazards do the same for timid. Lele has a lot of freedom with the fourth slot on Scarf, so this seems fairly reasonable to use even if not trying to lure ghol specifically.
252+ SpA Tapu Lele Shadow Ball vs. 252 HP / 84 SpD Gholdengo: 190-224 (50.2 - 59.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Tapu Lele Shadow Ball vs. 252 HP / 84 SpD Gholdengo: 172-204 (45.5 - 53.9%) -- 91.8% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock
