........ so i ran a few different ideas, i am in dire need from someone with more experience hahaha
ill try not to bog it down too much but i tried
Dusclops: Night shade, Curse, pain split/rest, protect
the plan:
eviolite clops is a UNIT! lets drop curses to deal fixed damage & force set up sweeps to switch
the reality:
im suprised how often people choose not to switch, curse takes out up to 2 mon with alarming regularity.
however i never seem to time my rest's/pain splits right to keep clops going
maybe i should just drop curse?
clops is almost always guaranteed to go last
Drifblim: Stockpile, Substitute, Curse, Rest
the plan:
if i can safely sit behind a sub, i can hopefully set up max stockpile, curse all non norm from behind sub, restore insane HP pool
the reality:
despite hes huge HP pool and double def investment, im just not pulling this plan off, i think failure is just my knowledge
only got taunted once BUT that is obvs a clear concern, fully shuts this Drifblim down
Trevenant: Shadow Claw, Horn Leech, Will-O-Wisp, Rest
the plan:
rest + lum berry harvest = perfect sustain (rest even cancles status), horn leech for an attack that ALSO sustaines, will-o for PhAtkers
the reality:
again just not pulling this off and i can't pinpoint my failure to anything other than just my inexperience
Mimikyu: Bulk Up, Shadow Sneak, Play Rough, Drain Punch
the plan:
set up bulk ups then drop as much damage as possible
the reality:
again user error, i just can't keep him alive. I've tried mucking about with EV spreads but nothing seems to work
Max atk & speed have yielded best results i guess but, maybe i make him a full SpWall? then bulk up boosts he's phyicals???
I also have tried the iron fist Golurk above, despite hes great move coverage im always only ever hitting EQ or drain punch
if i invest more into hes SpDef with assult vest, perhaps can squeeze out more turns with him? he is SLOW though
i do love playing with my fav type, but this one million loose streak im on is starting to get to me hahaha
any advice on shedinja? i feel like knock off is insanely common and, i suspect its going to require a master level of prediction & game knowledge i just dont have this moment (and honestly might not haha competitive is a whole different beast)
Aspiring ghost specialist here! Does anyone have any good sets for a team I could make outa; Gengar, Golurk, Trevenant, Chandelure, Basculegion & Cofagrigus/Runerigus
If this is no good/too limiting I'm happy to switch all of them if needed, other ghost poke i love are:
Dusclops, Spiritomb, Shedinja, Mimikyu, HZoroark, Drifblim, Palossand, Sableye, Decidueye, HTyphlosion, Skeledirge, AMarowak, Rotom, Houndstone, Aegislash
[EDIT] didn't want to weigh down this post with too much info but, incase this helps, a few ideas
Iron fist assult vest max Atk Golurk with: Ice/Shadow/Drain punch & EQ
reasoning: great coverage, some sustain in drain punch, great damage (shadow punch is even boosted by STAB & ability)
(this idea is so obvs I'm sure other have tried it, in my limited experience this was pretty cool)
Sitrus Harvester Trevenant with: sunny day, curse, leech seed, substitute (this actually from the internet)
reasoning: from behind the safety of sub, condemn opponents to a 4-5 turn KO unless they switch?
(only tried this once & it was satisfying, not sure on EV spread though & i feel there is SO much u can do with this guy)
max SpAtk charcoal Chandelure with: Shadow ball, Over heat, haze, pain split
reasoning: few resist SB STAB + might drop SpDef, item boosted STAB OH to capitalize, haze to reset, some sustain in pain split?
(rest of EV's into speed??)
Max wall Cofagrigus (this one i used for my omega ruby run years back)
Max HP, EV & nature such that equally tanky on both sides
iron def to be a PhAtk pain
calm mind to become a Sp threat
Dark pulse to hit everything
i use to run rest with chesto after all the set up BUT
if u pain split instead, no need to give opponent free turns + left overs???
also also, Haunter has 3 immunities! i figure there MUST be potential here but i just keep misusing him hard (very newbie to competitive)
max speed + choice scarf + trick = lock down an opponents mon? maybe but so far i keep getting owned
(i hope this is just due to my newbness & once i have a better idea of other mon i'll see when & how to pull this off)
but again not married to ANY of these ideas, i can toss them all haha, just want to put up at least a good fight with my ghouls
