Eh, it has Dragon Claw so there's a bit of an implication it could also be used to Mega Evolve into X.
Unlezz, of courze, there'z another reazon why they want everyone to have a ChariZard ready to go.
An Alpha Charizard as a Mystery Gift is a bit random... unless it is a hint towards Mega Charizard Z appearing in the DLC? I got the gift Charizard, not sure if I'll use it for anything though.
Nice to see that the Hoenn starters are confirmed to be coming back! ...but their Mega Stones are locked to online battling. Oh well. I recently bought a three month-subscription for NSO just to be sure, and it looks like I'll need it. Since the Hoenn starters are back, I hope the other missing Megas will return as well. Lati@s, Rayquaza, and maybe Primal Groudon/Kyogre as well.
Slight update from me before the DLC drops tomorrow. A few days ago, I experienced a glitch in the game. It only took over 80 hours of playtime. I had just entered a Battle Zone and was going to look for trainers, when I suddenly fell through the floor. At first, I thought "wait, was there a hole or a slope here?", then I realized what had just happened. I took a screenshot as I was falling:

I kept falling for a while, then the screen turned black, the game loaded, and I was back at the last Pokémon Center I had visited. I hadn't lost any progress, so nothing really bad happened. But it was a bit scary, I was afraid I would have to reset my game and lose a lot of progress.
Today, I finally completed the last Pokédex research request and got the Shiny Charm!
Winning 1000 battles took a while, but that's because I didn't do it in a very efficient way. I managed to train a lot of Pokémon along the way, though. But I don't have anything on level 100 yet. All members of my in-game and post-game teams are at level 90, some are at level 91. In case the Mega Dimension starts at level 100, I guess I'll have to level up a bit more. I have a bunch of Rare Candies and a ton of Exp Candies, so I can just use them, it should go quickly.
Other than that, the only thing I haven't done in the game yet is to find all Colorful Screws. Still missing 8 or so, I think. But no panic with them, I'll find them eventually.
Either way, I'm ready for the Mega Dimension tomorrow! I hope it will be fun.

With the Hoenn Starter Mega Stones being confirmed to be Ranked Rewards, I want to point out the fun fact that if Ranked Rewards count as Events then this is the second time Mega Blaziken has been Event Only. (The first time was a Mystery Gift when XY came out and it remained Event Excusive until ORAS came out.)
Edit: Somehow forgot about a lot of Megas in Sun/Moon being Event Only.
On a less fun note, have fun waiting until Season 7 for the final Mega. At least Mega Blaziken got the honor of being a set mascot in TCG Pocket...

Eastern Conference NBA Cup games AND new DLC dropping tonight is truly perfect.
Not surprised that the Hoenn starters are tied to ranked. Need something to tide people over until Champions. I do wonder if there will be any more megas tied to ranked after Blaziken though.

I'm aware, thsi isn't my first rodeo, but it still took like 7 minutes for it to realize there was an update.

Ansha is absolutely Diantha's daughter. She's looking to get a legendary for her mom, her donut theme is a slight remix of diantha's battle theme.

So, like, is the update out yet for the public? Granted it’s only DLC, I’ve been trying to avoid spoilers for this more than the base game simply on account of the fact that… well, it still doesn’t seem to me like there’s that much to be spoiled on. I already know about all of the new Megas and some of the other content coming in this update from datamines, and as appealing as the idea of grinding wild Pokémon in the Wild Dimensions sounds I don’t think this and the Mega Evolutions are enough to make me want to spend $30 on this DLC.
In fact, just for fun, I want to play a game. Not literally, of course, but I want to see if any of my in-person friends can convince me to buy this thing within the next 24 hours. It’s not a big deal to anything, I can just as easily just wait and buy it later if or when I’m more interested, or I’ll skip out on it altogether. Hard to say just yet, but I enjoyed the base game more than I thought I would so maybe this could be the same…? We’ll see.

If you talk with Taunie before fighting Korrina, she points out that she got ignored
When you go to take on Absol Z, Korrina just says she "forgot" about Taunie entirely before heading in. Then mentions how she heard from AZ about taking on the origina Rogue Absol.
We know she & AZ were close so I wonder if this is all purposeful and Korrina might blame Taunie for his death.

Just making sure, Baxcalibur's mega stone is exclusive to online battle mode right? and only once the next season starts next week? Planning out my team rn and just want to make sure.
That was a very stupid idea from GF, but isn't there a NPC in Rust Syndicate that lets you reset EVs anyway?
Well yes, but in this case I’m referring to their use in the DLC. Early days ofc but idk how many berries I might end up needing.
I’m not sure I’ve ever seen you post anything but negatives about Pokemon games. Even about ones that you haven’t played, and before their release. Its tiring.
I do not even remotely think "many players" sat there and grinded out the 1000 battles. I do not think they intentionally made it so you would have to buy the DLC to get the charm without the grind, I think they're just dumb in how they set up the research tasks.
You can't buy berries in bulk is dumb but that is not a inherently a problem with the update itself. I could pick anything out of the air and say it's the update's fault for not doing it. (In the case of EV reset in general, there's still a NPC that'll reset everything)
Every single update is required to play online, and you do not need to buy the DLC to get it. This is just, like, how updates work. For just about every game.
I can't comment on shiny hunting strategies, especially when you're not even sure that's true
Jesus you’re not paying 30 quid to get the shiny charm, you’re paying 30 quid for a DLC that happens to make it easier to get the charm. Also the only thing they’ve supposedly patched out is the spawn overload method, which was obviously an exploit and not intended in the first place.
I'm being serious but is complaining all you do? We are less than 24 hours into this DLC and the first post from you is complaining about how this is the worst update ever.
1. So what if you don't need to win 1000 battle for the shiny charm? You still need to grind out the research tasks to get the Shiny Charm.
2. I can't speak to Shiny Hunting methods but if they are glitches then they should be patched.
3. That would be a good complaint if not for the fact that you can use Ms. Clear for 5 Mega Shards and the vitamins are available at Pokémon Centers in a game where money farming is easy.
4. I don't know what you expected. Of course you need to update the game to play online thats like literally every game. The Hoenn Megas were not even in the game so of course you need an update to get them.
You're just complaining for the sake of complaining and you do this damn near every time something new comes out.
