That sucks, I had to generate a new egg the the split spreads were trolling my bold Duskull...I had no problems though after I got a new egg but that stinks since your egg was shiny :( I can still wait to receive it though so take your time :)

any advice on how to get better at timing? I always miss my target frame t.t

Hi Im M3 thanks for the message about my id/sid abuse. sorry for delay in replying i hadn't realised how difficult to rng in hg/ss was without having completed game. i have no way of verifying i hit seed as have no roamers or no elm responses. i thought i could get shiny starter etc but no chance with no elm responses. So i'm just up to collecting togepi egg from pokemart so might have a go at getting shiny togepi and hope i hit my 638 shiny flawless delay which luckily i can get 1 every 5/6 times due to previous practice on delay hitting. And after your help i can offer you any shiny timid/modest wild pokemon with ability 0 if you need any for free. i have no way to clone so will keep my shiny legends for myself lol. Unfortunately togepi really needs ability 1 serene grace but might spend an hour trying to get shiny egg anyway thanks once again

There isn't a way to know in advance, and using different frames from the same save can have it yield either split or non-split at those frames... it's weird. Like at a spread I want for non-split comes up as split but when I shoot for a split spread it comes up as non-split. While letting the game run usually works sometimes it just doesn't. :/

In any case for special attackers you can get around it with these two spreads:
10850S 3:00.83 A 30 B B 31 31
10851 3:00.85 A 10 B B 31 31

That spread works for HP Ice and Grass too.

Hey dude, Can I ask you a question on Gen 3 RNG breeding? It seems like you have alot of knowledge in it since you have shiny retail cart emerald Pokemon :P, How do I get rid of split frames? Do I need to hatch the egg/release it and generate another one? My target frame is 2391 no splits. I hope you don't mind if I ask since there isn't any Gen 3 breeding online who I can ask and this is driving me crazy. I haven't encountered this problem before on my other RNG breeds.

Hey!, Oh yes I would most definitely like a shiny one, And sure gen 5 would be okay, I just like getting mons on gen 4 so I have access to tutor's to the Pokemon whenever I need them :), I can wait, I'm in no need of it right now. Would you also be able to tutor these moves on it if possible?

So to sum up, once you "lock" into an egg, you set the nature, ability and gender of the pokemon and also the IV creaiton method bar an unknown factor that makes it change sometimes after saving again? Also which timer do you recommend as the most consistent for emerald RNG abuse? And does using a DS instead or a regular gba makes any difference? I ask it because I feel some differences during gameplay, most notably when entering the first floor of any pokecenter. In the gba the music starts like one second before the screen loads while the same happens in the ds but also the screen loads along with the music but a bit "darkened" (feels as if the screen "lagged" to load)
