Clowney should get as much respect as Suh/Mccoy did a couple years ago, top 3 pick probably. There is almost no chance that that freak will be an on the field failure in the NFL.

I'm not sold on the Browns at all. Weeden might turn out to be decent, but his ceiling is not very high compared to other first round QBs. Richardson is obviously a beast, but RBs don't usually carry teams (AP/MJD can attest to that). Maybe if they can maintain a high level of play on defense they can be decent for a few years, but they really need playmakers at receiver and tight end in order to have a mediocre offense and win in the NFL.

The Eagles never lose after a bye, and they definitely have had the Falcons' number the past several years. A choke seems rather likely at this point imo.

The Raiders game was a weird one... none of Matt Ryan's interceptions were terrible decisions or throws, he just kinda served it up on a platter for the Raiders. Thanks to the turnovers, the defense had to stay on the field a massive amount, leading to a lot of yardage/time of possession for the Raiders (it's hard to stop an offense when you're exhausted, which is why teams that lose the time of possession battle lose more often than win). This was extremely apparent in the 2nd half, when the Raiders had almost 19 minutes of possession to the Falcons' 11, leading to two long Raiders drives at the end of the game.

The Falcons have always struggled against bad opponents too. Last year, we lost to Tampa (the first time), only beat the Seahawks by 2, only won by one possession against the Titans, and lost to the QB-less Texans. Even in 2010, when the Coons went 13-3, they barely won against the 49ers (if you remember, it was thanks to Roddy White causing a fumble after an interception, that the Falcons then recovered), struggled mightily against the Browns, and barely beat the Bengals and Bucs (both times). They have a history of playing down to their opponents' levels. Hopefully it won't be a trend this season, as we had handled the Chiefs/Chargers/Redskins pretty well.

JJ Watt is amazing, I love his ability to bat down passes way more than his ability to get sacks. It changes the dynamic of the passing game so much, as you have to literally avoid passing in his direction as if he was a shut down corner. You can get around this by taking 5/7 step drops, but those passes take more time and you'd be more likely to get sacked... brilliant.

And no, it definitely doesn't have anything to do with him being black. I hate me-first quarterbacks like Cam. Vick is another good example, along with guys like Rodgers and Cutler.

Well, the Bucs were a field goal away from winning last week, and without that amazing comeback by Eli they would have won the week before too and been 3-1. The Saints can turn it around at any time if their defense starts playing a little more cohesively. If they can keep teams under 27 points they'll win every game. The Panthers still suck, but Cam can do enough to win them some games like they should have won against the Falcons.

This year's Eagles are like last year's Eagles, too many turnovers and not enough consistency. At this rate they're looking at 8-8 again, possibly 9-7.

There's a difference between hating losing and being a whiny dick about it. Look at the well spoken quarterbacks in the league. Does Eli ever sulk after a loss? He does what most QBs do - says the team couldn't execute, shoulders some of the blame himself, promise that he'll do better next week, and give credit to the other team. He can sulk at home if he so chooses, but he doesn't let his teammates or the media see him down.

the NFC South really isn't "that" bad... the Bucs lost by 7, 6, and 2 points, the Panthers lost by 6, 2, 4, and 29 points (only blowout in the division), and the Sinners lost by 8, 8, 3, and 1 points. It's not like they're getting blown out every game like the non-Texans AFC South is!

If I had to choose playoff teams right now... Falcons, 49ers, Bears, Texans, and Ravens are the obvious choices. The first round byes will probably be split between those four. No way the Pats lose the AFC East either. I still like Denver for the AFC West. NFC East is a clusterfuck, but the Gents are the only ones with a positive points differential. The Eagles have just been getting lucky, and Dallas is too streaky. For the NFC Wild Card, it'll come down to the Vikings, Packers, Cardinals, and Seahawks. The Vikings/Packers have an easy schedule, and I never believed in the Cardinals. 10 wins probably makes it to the wild card, and at this point I'd choose Vikings > Packers > Seahawks > Cardinals, even though I think the Packers are better than the Vikings.

AFC Wild card is a bunch of meh teams, it doesn't really matter. Obviously no way the Jets/Jags/Titans/Raiders/Chiefs make it, which leaves the Bills, Dolphins, Steelers, Bengals, Colts, and Chargers. Gag me... I'm not a believer in the Bengals, so I think the Steelers/Chargers are most likely to make it. Funny enough, that's still my exact preseason prediction for the AFC, if I remember correctly.

i hate cam almost as much as i hate the saints. he's vick 2.0, honestly, and his selfish attitude and demeanor will do nothing to win him the hearts of carolina fans. he'll win games, but he'll lose some too, and unless he stops sulking his team is going to get sick of that really quickly.

It was a weird game, but I never had much doubt the Falcons would win. Aside from that one long touchdown in blown coverage, the Falcons held the Skins to like 240 total yards, which is very impressive by today's standards (fewer than the Cards got on Thursday). The Falcons had a little trouble maintaining drives early, and Ryan sailed a few wide open throws, but they settled down in the second half. Whenever you can win on the road in the NFL, it's a success.

The Falcons lost Grimes, who has played like a top 10 CB the past two seasons, after the first game but I don't think they've lost much else injury wise. A few guys like Julio not playing at 100% but nothing too serious.

2nd year of the league, I've only been playing FF for like 4 years but only seriously for the last 2.

The Cards will come down to earth soonish, I think they'll probably be 6-3 by the time they reach their bye week. It's kinda fluky how they're doing so well, they're 25th in passing yards, 29th in rushing yards, 21st in opponent's passing yards, and 15th in opponent's rushing yards. Not exactly a recipe for success!

And no, they're really not that good, a bunch of my dad's friends that have been playing a while but only 3-4 of them are actually good at it (case and point, I had the #2 seed my first year playing despite injuries and near the top of the league in points against)

this is my 2nd year, I made the playoffs the first year with a first round bye (12 teams, 6 make the playoffs) but I lost Jennings/AP/Forte going in so I lost both playoff matches. Still finished about net even for the final costs and what I won for 4th so I got to play for free which was nice.

I want hanson/seabass because they have their bye week this week and I won't have to worry about making another move at kicker, and each move costs money.

Sproles' talent is in the passing game, though. They pass like 95% of the time he's on the field, and he gets a lot of catches. Murray at his best is still better than Sproles at his best, though.

nah, but if Murray starts playing like he did last year he'll be a better start than Sproles (that's a big "if" though)

Only slightly worrisome thing about the Browns is that they've had an extra few days rest, but I wouldn't be too concerned.


Who would you rather pick up: Jason Hanson (detroit kicker) or Janikowski? Basically it's great kicker on a bad offense vs decent kicker on a good offense, and I'm really conflicted about this :x
