until Smith has consecutive non-winning seasons with the same talent, I would never ever ever ever ever want him fired. that's four evers. that's basically forever. the owner loves him too, so i highly doubt he'd ever fire him even if he is a little impatient.

way i see it, basically every team has ~a 50% chance of winning in the playoffs. going 0-3 doesn't mean you're the worst playoff team ever, because even a good team can lose 3 50% games in a row.

don't think the Falcons/Texans would be considered "hot" as a 2-3 game win streak would not be the same to a 13-14 win team as a 9-10 win team... if the Giants/Seahawks play like they did yesterday, I'd be putting money on them to make the Super Bowl... but it's gotta be the Broncos. The last time they lost was back in October. I get the feeling they'll be the team to beat in the AFC.

a hot team is a team that wins a bunch of games in a row basically... the Giants were a .500 team last year, then they got some momentum by beating the Jets/Romos, then propelled off crushing the Falcons to crushing the Packers/beating the Niners/Pats. the year before, the Packers were basically in an elimination series at 8-6 with two weeks to play, but crushed the giants and beat da bears which led them into the playoffs on a positive note, and you know the rest etc etc


last year when we lost, a couple dumb-asses started calling for mike smith's head... I'd imagine it would happen again. really the only thing that would happen is matt ryan would get a cheaper contract, which is kinda good i guess

realistically between two teams that are evenly matched, a team can go 0-3 in the playoffs 1/8th of the time

we just happened to play three of the hottest teams in the NFL all three years we've made the playoffs -__-
