  • oh and selecting open also disabled the date/time shit to indicate to the user that those values are not taken into consideration.

major cleanup to seed finder. I did not remove your functionality (or change it, actually), but I did rename it to custom. There are radio buttons for hgss, dpp, custom, and open now and this crap and associated settings are all saved. i think it looks cleaner and works better. i hated the checkboxes. you could have shit like open/hgss/advanced all checked off.... what did it even mean when you did that? no ambiguity anymore.
Hey, I wanted to know how is it possible for two "non-Wifiers" to open a thread asking for free pokemon. We see threads like that getting closed every week (or every two days) so I don't see the reasoning behind this. Is it because they are "known" in Smogon or because some mods may know them IRL? I think that is against the same rules that apply to every one. They are free to ask for free VGC pokemon in the "Simple Questions, Simple Requests" thread. If you tell me that is valid then I'll go ahead an open my own "Give me free pokemon please" thread
Hrm OK, didnt realize yours honored dates... then advanced could have, under the delay range entry fields, a checkbox for "ignore dates" that is off by default. Heh.
How about when advance is checked it just disables the date stuff and the code ignores it. No need to actually clear out the fields, i dont think.
Why have both at all, though? What I mean is simply have advanced. Which, given open enough ranges (or maybe if they dont enter any values), ends up being the equivalent of an open search?
New commit. Seed to time has elm searching now. I show 10, but only search 7 to aid in cases where there has been some npc or other shenanigans causing advances. Even with only 7, though, it's 1:2000+, which is better than the coin flips.

Please respond re: advanced vs. open. Would like to get that finalized before doing another release.
Sup Omega, I got two pklatam jirachis, one timid with IVs 14/10/25/27/25/18 and one jolly with 28/4/23/14/11/30 ...should I use of those or is better to load a WC in pokesav and RNG it? I want to use the Rain team, the idea of having a lv 20 Kingdra amuses me lol. Thanks in advice for your help.
    From your page 1 guide:

"In HGSS, there is only one NPC on that route to worry about, and as a result the starting frame is usually 3 and there is no need to calibrate. To hit higher frames you have to open the Pokegear very quickly (before the NPC moves) and advance the RNG via the radio."

I think knowing what we know now that it would be wiser to aim for a slightly higher frame (15 or so) and then always open pokegear and start the elm calls. 7 or so to verify your seed AND get your current frame -- then the rest to get to the desired frame. It sorta builds in getting you the correct frame.

I guess the only painful part is going to be matching your sequence since the npc already consumed a few seeds, but I think I am going to be able to account for that in the new adjacent finder.
Omega, can I use Rotom-H on Pokémon Battle Revolution and with the DS wireless with Heart Gold? Seems that some battles will be held on Wii and I think can't use. And, which one do you suggest me to buy: Diamond or Emerald. In one hour I'll meet the seller xD
Hrm, do we really need open and advanced? maybe it would be better if there was just "advanced" and it opened up min/max frame and delay windows that defaulted to really high (or completely open) values and then we just saved whatever the user last used. Also might want to make it completely disregard and grey out the time options when selected so that it really does get "everything".

Seems like it would be simpler and more comprehensive.
Why no love for your timer?

also, when seed to time is non modal, we are going to have to be careful when populating it, lest we overwrite a seed someone is already working with :/ i wonder if the thing to do might not be to allow multiples of the damn thing to be opened.
I released 7.50. I didn't really announce that I did so, or anything :) either way, new code is on svn, as usual. Hoping i can spend some time digging into seed to time tonight.
Hey, I posted my first VGC team on Skarmbliss... if you get a chance, I'd really appreciate it if you'd let me know what you think! BTW, was the location selection kind to you this year?
I'm pretty sure 0x87 is for the PokéAthlon, but as I said I probably forgot something.

The other values you mentioned in the quote (0x04-05, 0x42-43, 0x5E and 0x64-67) are always set to 00. Imo they're here for compatibility with the next games (same for 0x86 which was empty until HGSS came out, 0x44-47 for Platinum...)
    Oh ?
I thought it because all the Pokémon I checked from my cartridge had this value set to 0, except the ones who went in Pokéathlon.

Well, I may have forgot something then :P
    Oh...the website was right?!
I was using RNG Reporter version 7.30 that time (on April 11, 2010)
I hope the new one now is accurate in its encounter slot values...
Going to add elm to the frame listing on the main page.

Currently plan to put it into method k, method 1, hgss breeding, and wondercards.

    Overkill?

(this would be similar to the coin column on the egg pid listing)
