It's pretty safe, according to the FAQ from the .pdf from the .zip file.
If you're starting, you should try experimenting it on some carts you rarely/seldom use.
It supports all 4th & 5th Gen games, including BW2...
And maybe non-Pokemon games too.

I guess you stumbled on the ones only for extracting 3rd Gen games...
BTW I think Savegame manager only supports DS Lite & Original for now.
3DS & DSi aren't supported...

Safe & save have different meanings
BTW if you extract a .sav from that cart, it doesn't mean it resets the cart... you can still play there if ya want.

Anyway there are various programs from the internet, one of them being the Savegame Manager, which I use.
You require Wi-Fi & a flashcart to use it, and maybe that SmallFTP program too.
BTW how about VM'ing me instead? I think I didn't check the "Only Friends, Mods, & Admins can VM me" checkbox from the options...
