tbh I'm surprised this is how short the original story was. this was meant to be a criticism/satire (she didn't invent the mary sue, she just gave it a name) so I guess she didn't want to spend time writing a lot when the point was just to be a call out.
can you explain why The Unusual Suspects is so great btw? I feel like I'm missing something. The twist ending didn't seem like one that finally made everything else make sense. It seemed like it just made everything else pointless.

Did you know in the original cut of The Phantom Menace, after one of the podracers crashes and dies, it cuts to a shot of his wife and three children in some bizarre attempt at dark humor

Another example of great foreshadowing that eluded me for many years is in Jurassic Park. Alan has two "vagina" parts of the seat belt, and no plug. But he ties them together to make it work. This foreshadows how all the dinosaurs are female but will still make breeding work somehow.
So a lot of people have mentioned how the opening of Reservoir Dogs foreshadows all the characters by setting up their personalities really subtly.
I'm not sure about Mr. Orange "ratting" out Mr. Pink though. Was it trying to say he couldn't keep his sense of justice contained at all? Or he just hated these guys so he wanted to get them in trouble as much as he could.
