    hyper offense is categorically less skillful than BO/Balance in terms of competitive playstyle and skill expression. most of your argument for boots ban boils down to "this makes HO better and balance/BO gets worse"

    that isn't a "competitiveness argument" because HO is more fun, not more competitive to the tier, and often should be relegated to a matchup fish

    pivoting around things and positioning better than your opponent is the most skillful element of pokemon, not getting rocks up clicking swords dance once and killing 90% of the tier instantly

    the slower pace and focus on pivoting is more competitive than more offensive metagames imo
