    provided the pokemon in question is infected with pokerus, yes that would be correct. You would also get 2 Spe EVs gained from defeating the magikarp itself :)

    Other than that, LC is just a matter of passing the right moves onto the egg so it has them for usage at lv5

    And because it's so low level EVing, it helps if you use vitamins in the stats you EV in, provided: # of vitamins * 10 + 8*n = target EVs, where n is an arbitrary number that makes the second portion a multiple of 8 (since you gain 8 EVs in a stat beside speed, it's helpful if you can hit your exact target)

    In general, you want to do speed as the last stat you EV, because magikarps give speed EVs from killing them, so if you EV that stat first/not last, you'll end up with more Spe EVs than you wanted :/

    for the actual EVing... you need the power item that gives EVs in that stat, pokerus, and 4-5 EXP shares to put on the other pokemon besides the one you are EVing. After you have all that, it's just a matter of switching pokemon in to battle, repeating until enough EXP share pokemon have entered the battle to make the power item poke gain 1 EXP, along with 8 EVs in the power item stat + 2 in speed from killing a single magikarp

    oookaay finally got to a lull in all the CMT/respond/trade/wheatever business :p

    The best pokemon to kill is magikarp...which you can get from the old rod almost anywhere, though I personally just use the route south of sandgem town in DPPt (haven't tried it in HGSS yet due to so many restarts/ID abuse/etc)
    yea. if you use zack's method, you have to switch all the 5 other pokes in.

    either way, every 10 EVs are 1 exp.

    btw, use vitamins.

    but lets say you want to give 36 HP EVs.
    -use 2 HP ups and kill 2 magikarps with power HP item. 10+10+8+8=36. make sure to stop using vitamin when your multiple of 8 away from your desired EVs. except if its over 100, then spam 10 vitas.
    thats what the power items are for. lets say i use power bracer.

    then each magikarp would give me 8 (i think bracer gives att) att EVs and 2 spe EVs.
    this isnt Zari, but i saw your VM to zari, so i'd like to tell you.

    number1: infect pokerus
    number2: give a level 9x already EV'd pokemon EXP share. give the LC pokemon power item.
    number3: fight magikarps (1 spe EV each) with the 9x pokemon up front. switch to the LC pokemon. fight.

    you have just gained 2 spe EVs and 8 xxx EVs. 1 magikarp = 10 EV. (i think its 8 EV from the power item+pokerus, not sure though, check up on this)

    it is vital to train speed last.
