The gender ratios are the same all the time for each individual spread, regardless of ID or anything else.

Well, it depends on your spread and the pokemon you're catching. For my jolly spread, it reads 50% - F, 12.5% - F, 25% - F, 75% - F. Those percentages represent the percent chance a certain pokemon is female. So this means, if I am trying to catch a pokemon that has a 50% chance of being female (and male), it will be a female. If it has a 12.5% chance of being female (example: bulbasaur), then it will be female. If it has a 25% chance of being female (example: abra) then it will be female....etc, etc. Essentially, any pokemon I catch with that spread will be female. I'm not sure what yours reads, but it probably says F for the 50% column since that's what most pokemon's gender ratios are.

Found him in encounter slot 4 :) yay. I'm at Mt. Silver btw. Time was 18:38. I'm not sure what times are daytime, nighttime, morning etc. but I think this is probably night (since when I was in the forest at this time there were hoothoot everywhere). I found Aipom on 0 and 7, and Xatu on 1 and 5. That's all the farther I got.

Haha let me know how it turns out. I don't have a slot 9 for my spread :/ so maybe I'm wasting my time with this guy....or girl I guess it would be.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it does. I think it's just like normal encounter slots, where sometimes a certain pokemon is substituted into a slot at a certain time of day in place of another. That could be true for the bug catching contest too, which may be why those slots people found don't always work. Of course, I also may not have any idea what I'm talking about...but those are just my thoughts lol.

Hmm...was it the same time of day? Because I'm pretty sure they change throughout the day. I found a Shroomish in the evening, but to test I tried the morning and never found one in maybe 10 encounters. I also couldn't find a Seedot in the evening, but found one when I tested in the morning. My spread is at night, and I encountered a Heracross so I know it's available at night, I just have to find the right slot. Already found an Aipom (pickup haha) and Natu.

Just curious...what encounter slot did you find heracross on?

Hi, at the moment I can't unless I find a japanese HG/SS rom to put on a second flashcard.
I only have one badge on white so I have to finish the game before I can transfer my hexflawless smeargle and ditto to white

I had a third party, via Expert Evan, transfer my breeders and one catcher onto B/W, and then E.E. traded my pokes back to me. But it's too much of a nuisance to have to wait on anyone, so I bought my Diamond game today.

I really do think this little setback trading between English gen 4 and Japanese ROMs will be cracked though. Someone is going to crack the region lock eventually. It's just too annoying the way things are now.

Edit: E.E. asked for Jap ditto breeding projects, so that's how I managed to get this done with him.

I'm not sure about transfers from 4 to 5. I read that you can use a B/W Rom but there's some sort of lockout if you don't have a gen 4 retail game. I'm not at a point in my Black game(s) to check if two ROM files will work. Anyhow, I've purchased a retail Japanese Diamond game to go with my retail Black game. So whatever the outcome, I won't have to wait on ROM cracks to make transfers possible.

Yah, it's really weird that your cart is different if starting frame was the same for Charmander, Bulbasaur and Squirtle, haha. Lucky you I guess :P

Herm, that's definitely nice that you got it to work that way. That's supposed to only work with Steven Stone's starters. With Professor Oak starters, each pokemon should have a different starting frame. Or that's what I learned from doing my Squirtle and other people results seem to agree with what I have, haha.

Ah, I'm not being too clear, lol. If your target frame was 901, when did you stop calling elm to verify? 900? With Squirtle (if I was using the same seed) I had to step at 897 to get it.

Nono, frame as in how much did taking the pokeball from Oak advance the frame? I did the Squirtle and found mine to be really weird (like it advanced the frame by 4) so was just curious if you knew how much Oak's pokemon advances the frame by? :P I know they're all different, XD.
