  • Hey omega. I dont play BW but do understand how they RNG. If you need me to explain I can.
Congrats. :-) I liked that RNG because it was a challenge but not difficult to understand.
That's true. Lol I wish I thought about before I bought the regular one
How is it that you have all these items already?lol do you have a japanese AR or something
Ok can I get 3 leftovers and 2 life orb and a yachte
Omega could you help me one last time please? I will give you another round of credits
Yes, it's method 1. So you'll want to RNG it on a game that does not have your target spread for shiny, then transfer to the game with the target spread.
I found that conversation on the other forum a little hard to follow. What I know is from how I got my shiny manaphy. On the original game that received the egg, the manaphy does not hatch shiny. I RNGed it using a spread that is shiny on a second game. So before the egg hatched, I cloned it and I traded it to the second game and hatched it there. Hatched on the second game, it has linked trade in it's description. Hatched on the original game that received it, it's a got the Pokemon Ranger info, whatever that is. I'm not looking at the poke right now.

Anyhow, Game Freak didn't want it shiny ever, so there's some sort of code check that is active on the game that receives the egg, but that same code fails on the second game you trade the egg to. So that's why all shiny manaphy must be hatched on a second game and therefore have linked trade in the description.
Unfortunately that kind of practice sounds unethical, and not recommended to put up for trade at all.
I wouldn't do it for trade pokes. I do run a Black sav with a White ROM, but only to use the union room. Black has some sort of anti-piracy that stops a ROM from working in the union room, but White ROMs work fine. So I used to trade between games by temporarily renaming my black file so it would get run by a white rom. But I change it back to a Black ROM when I want to generate a pokemon. I discovered I could still use Wifi with a Black ROM so I haven't had to do the name switch any more.

You can use the same SID as often as you want. There's nothing stopping you, but I like mine to look different just so people can tell which game I got it on. It's not that hard to RNG a different SID for the same spread.
It did? I'm surprised. I did it with a Black sav run on a White ROM and it didn't. Maybe it's changed on Gen 5.

I would say that it's safer to start the game on the right file. It's only a few extra days to get a game to the point of doing RNG for a legendary, so it's no big deal. Compared to the big deal some people would make if they knew the wrong ROM generated the pokemon, it's just a safer thing to do.
Just answering your question on the simple questions thread: I don't think it will be a legit legendary if you use the wrong ROM on a sav file. Once you switch ROMs, a different game generates the pokemon. It's technically a different OT that got the pokemon. What you should do to confirm this is try a copy of that sav with the wrong ROM. Catch a pokemon while HG is running it. Then run the sav on SS again. Try to rename that caught pokemon. You'll discover you can't. Using the wrong ROM to generate a pokemon is kinda the same as hacking your OT at that point. You're better off just starting an HG ROM sav from scratch.
Sweet :) thanks for the confirmation
Do you know if pkrus even exist this gen?
I have all 6. Lol thank you so much now to hunt for a pokemon to spread pkrus
I hope everything is ok. You didn't have a family emergency did you?
That's fine and yeah I'll still be on. Also you can get 3 credits
