Advance Placement (AP) Exams are exams you can take to earn college credit for a specific class while you're in high school. For example, the AP Chemistry exam will allow you, if you get a passing score, to earn college credit for an introductory/general chemistry class in college. Scores vary from 1-5, with 5 being the highest. The scores are given out in a process similar to a bell curve; a set amount of people will get each grade. You're directly competing against everyone else in the nation (or world for international test-takers) to get the grade you want. I'm taking 5 this year! Whee.
