You have to control your sympathy, not vice-versa, so umm yeah.
And "paying well" while a good thing to think of, is only a part of the equations, other important part is that you enjoy it or AT LEAST "OK" with it. As in don't major Engineering for example while hating engineering/physics/maths and just doing it for the $$$.
Lots of doctors are sympathetic, plus you'd really want to major into what you enjoy, if it's illustration or writing, then so be it, but you're early to decide anyway.
unless you want another job that involves white liquids and handling pointed objects, I'm talking about milking cows of course! :D
