the number you put in front of the elements applies to all the elements in that part of the equation. Its basically going back and forth, back and forth till everythings balanced. ( you may have to change what you already had to do so)
the big numbers in front are applied to the subscripts. 4H would have 4 as the subscript since 1 times 4 is 4.
I dunno if it helps but you could find an online converter to do the work for you.
