They both have their ups and downs. When catching, you usually have to hit higher delays (easy with PikaTimer) and will need more frame advancement. But you don't have to worry about NPCs randomly advancing your frame.
Breeding is nice because any Nature/Ability/IVs combo is possible, plus egg moves. The target delays will be really close to your average, and you'll only need 5-6 page flips at most. But you have to worry about NPCs in town moving and messing with your frame.
Are you going to IV abuse for eggs or wild pokemon?

First, the true year has nothing to do with RNG, yes, change the year to 2009, then revert back to your target year will change the odd/even. For the info on my pokes, check my Pokecommunity thread.
You see, when you count your delays, some times they are ALWAYS odd, and sometimes they are always even, lets say you are trying to get a 606 delay, but after you do coin flips and you got 605, this usually means you won't be getting your all 31s anytime soon. So just adjust the time as I tell you to manipulate the odd/even of the delay. HOLY **** MY FRAME IS OFF BY ONE AGAIN GAAAAH!
Any progress? By the way, you should notice the delay is consistently odd or even, don't waste your time keep trying for a odd target delay while you keep getting even ones. To change it, you can set the time to 2009, catch a poke, save, then revert back to your original time.
yes, but you only have to find a delay you can hit everytime you abuse, the times you do it don't matter.. So when you're abusing you can establish a delay you frequently hit (for example 605) so you won't have problems when resetting, and you're sure to hit it. Compris?
As much as you want. this doesn't matter really. It is useful for you to find your personal delay and personal seconds. Once you've found a delay you are sure you can hit it, stop your calibration.
try to repeat the calibration phase many times so you know what delay and seconds you can hit.
