Yeah, english script OTs are a dead giveaway. I've encountered the same thing.

Hints:
1. If their OT is "MAT", there's a good chance they're extra-link editted. Not necessarily, but often.
2. Clone, evolve, and trade them. I had a trecko that was hacked, such that once it was traded it reverted back to its non-DW ability. :( It did not revert back when traded as a trecko though.

Yes, I'd still really love your DW starters. I won't redistribute them, no problem. Just want to battle w/ them... and have them for my collection (if they're not extra-link edited. - if they are, I still want them but I'd like you to tell me which ones are.)
