Tapu Lele @ Psychium Z
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 252 HP / 60 Def / 196 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Calm Mind
- Reflect
- Moonblast

Charizard @ Charizardite X
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 HP / 160 SpD / 96 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Flame Charge
- Flare Blitz
- Outrage

Pheromosa @ Fightinium Z
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 160 Def / 188 SpA / 160 Spe
Modest Nature
- Bug Buzz
- Ice Beam
- Focus Blast
- Lunge
Tapu Lele and Charizard act as the main core of the team, covering a majority of the metagame between just the two of them, while Pheromosa handles a good number of Pokemon that would otherwise counter the main core. Only downside is that you end up having to make a lot of guesses at team preview.
  • Tapu Lele covers: Charizard-X/Y, Dragonite, Gyarados, Porygon-Z, Zygarde, Greninja, Altaria, Donphan, Kommo-o, Primarina, Tapu Fini, Venusaur, and more
  • Charizard-X covers: Charizard-Y, Dragonite, Magearna, Metagross, Greninja, Jumpluff, Lopunny, Magnezone, Meloetta, Mew, Aegislash, Gardevoir, Genesect, Kommo-o, Naganadel, and more
  • Pheromosa covers: Porygon-Z, Slowbro, Zygarde, Greninja, Jumpluff, Landorus, Donphan, Naganadel, Tyranitar, and more.
Tapu Lele's spread is built to withstand a Charizard-Y's Blast Burn, while at the same time giving it as high of a chance at living a Charizard-X Flare Blitz as possible (just under 20% KO chance vs 252 atk). Its move composition is focused on its high power STAB moves, as well as setting up with the moves Calm Mind and Reflect, thus allowing it to handle just about anything that doesn't outspeed and nuke or hit super effectively.
Charizard-X's spread is tailored to outspeed even max speed Dragonite, so that way it can cut Dragonite's Atk with Wisp before Mega evolving and finish it off with Mega Outrage on the next turn. The spread also withstands a Greninja Specs Hydro Cannon, in addition to Lopunny-Mega's combination of Fake Out and Giga Impact. The moveset is pretty straightforward with Flare Blitz and Outrage acting as its main STABs, as well as Wisp being a useful utility for physical attackers. Flame Charge, however, is a bit more of a niche move, being mostly for the sake of breaking Jumpluff's Substitute and outspeeding on the next turn to avoid autolosing to it, though it also helps for SubFlail Lopunny and Pinsir, and a few other matchups. You can realistically replace Flame Charge with other options like Dragon/Sword Dance, Belly Drum, Counter, etc, and still be fine, I just find that Flame Charge has the broadest niche of all its potential filler moves.
Pheromosa is the main Pokemon that saves the core from being broken down as easily, particularly against Slowbro, Landorus-Therian, Porygon-Z, Greninja, Tyranitar-Mega, Aggron-Mega, and Garchomp. The Spa is to make sure it 2HKOs Slowbro with Bug Buzz no matter what (with Modest over Rash, because a Scald could OHKO you otherwise), the Speed is to just barely outspeed Greninja, and the Defense is to withstand a hit from Aggron (among other Pokemon) after Lunge, so that it can follow up with the Z-Focus Blast to KO.

MaGyara Balanced Offense, by Dragonmirror27262

Gyarados-Mega @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 12 Def / 32 SpD / 216 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Taunt / Earthquake

Magearna @ Fairium Z
Ability: Soul Heart
EVs: 248 HP / 20 SpA / 24 SpD / 216 Spe
Bold Nature
- Fleur Cannon
- Calm Mind
- Iron Defense
- Pain Split

Charizard-Mega-X @ Charizardite X
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 232 HP / 220 SpD / 56 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flame Charge
- Flare Blitz
- Outrage
- Will-O-Wisp
At first look this looks like I slapped together using the 3 best 1v1 pokemon into a team. This is false. The gyarados + magearna core is known for being ridiculously strong. It beats almost everything together, but what the core is weak to are speed traps (pluff, viv, smeargle), and Charizard-Y. And all of these pokemon are beat by Flame Charge Zard-X. A ridiculously strong team, and with very easy-to-use pokemon this is definitely worth using.
Note: Without taunt on gyarados you might lose to stallmons.
Overall a strong team, very well rounded, couldnt find any 3-0s. Ridiculously and surprisngly strong. Arguably the 3 best mons in a well rounded team.

Triple Bulk Balance, by Lancer Fr

mawile-mega.png

Type: Null @ Eviolite
Ability: Battle Armor
EVs: 252 HP / 96 Def / 140 SpD / 20 Spe
Impish Nature
- Return
- Confide
- Iron Defense
- Rest

Tyranitar-Mega @ Tyranitarite
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 184 HP / 100 Atk / 56 SpD / 168 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Rock Tomb
- Crunch
- Taunt
- Earthquake

Mawile-Mega @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 20 Atk / 112 Def / 124 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Fire Fang
- Play Rough
- Sucker Punch
- Metal Burst
I currently use this team only when I am placed above the 1700 elo bar but not below it, it is very important for me to know that because this team is very effective when you are not badly classified in the ladder and very difficult to 3-0, it took me a lot of concentration and days to think about a good synergy between it and also allowed me to remain in the 1800 bar for a while with account malbarr974. Type: Null is almost never used, I am one of the only players who probably uses it, but what some people don't know is that it has a huge potential to handle the majority of the most used unless Gyarados-M doesn't walk around with Mold-breaker because Type-null's special ability is "battle armor" blocking critical hits. M-Tyranitar is mainly here to handle taunt or something like that that might disrupt Mawile and Type: Null.

Two Choices Offense, by Eriey
gyarados-mega.png
genesect.png
zeraora.png

Gyarados (Gyarados-Mega) @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 44 Atk / 28 Def / 44 SpD / 144 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Outrage
- Taunt

Genesect @ Choice Specs
Ability: Download
EVs: 240 HP / 236 Def / 32 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Bug Buzz
- Ice Beam
- Flamethrower
- Thunderbolt

Zeraora @ Choice Band
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 32 HP / 252 Atk / 224 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Plasma Fists
- Close Combat
- Outrage
- Iron Tail
Gyarados and Zeraora is a very powerful core on its own, as well as Bulky Genesect and Banded Zeraora. The three combined make a very powerful team. However, this team does lose to most Mega Venusaur and Specially Defensive Mega Mawile. Matchups that are not that obvious are
  • Zeraora is needed to beat Mega Gardevoir and Tapu Lele
  • Genesect is needed to reliably beat Earthquake Mega Gyarados
  • Genesect can tank Groundium Golem, Donphan, and Garchomp (assuming Donphan and Golem do not have Bulldoze)
  • Use Flamethrower against Donphan to avoid losing to Endeavor then Ice Shard
  • Banded Zeraora will need to predict whether a Charizard is X or Y, or if they will not Mega Evolve
  • Zeraora is needed for Kommo-o, if it is SpD and lives it shouldn't kill and if it is Offensive it should die
EVs: Gyarados almost always tanks two Mega Charizard X Outrages, two Uproars from Porygon-Z, and outspeeds base 110 speeds at +1 from Dragon Dance. Genesect tanks a Z-Earthquake to Sucker Punch from Golem. Zeraora outspeeds max speed Greninja. All remaining EVs are placed into the offensive stat for maximized damaged, and Zeraora has 32 EVs left over to put into HP.
Alternatives: Gyarados can swap out Waterfall for a move like Earthquake or Crunch. Genesect can swap out Thunderbolt for a move like Flash Cannon. Zeraora can swap out Close Combat for a move like Fire Punch

Altaria-Mega @ Altarianite
Ability: Cloud Nine
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hyper Voice
- Cotton Guard
- Roost
- Confide

Aegislash @ Steelium Z
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 248 HP / 12 Atk / 24 Def / 196 SpA / 28 SpD
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Shadow Ball
- Flash Cannon
- Shadow Sneak
- Metal Sound

Zeraora @ Electrium Z
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 184 Atk / 132 Def / 192 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Plasma Fists
- Bulk Up
- Charge
- Fake Out
This is a easy to use team with some counters. the core is aegislash and m-altaria, these 2 mons cover a lot of meta. Then there is zereora to fix some Mons that are relatively fast and use sleep etc.
192+ speed on zereora is to outspeed Mons like loppuny.
Aegislash his ability makes it possible to tank some powerfull fire and ground moves.
Altaria is sort of a finishing touch to a lot of physical attackers, with it being able to get +3 defense t1 making it for Mons like gyarados, donphan, garchomp impossible to kill.

Another GyaraZard team, by Synonimous
gyarados-mega.png
charizard-mega-x.png
magnezone.png

Gyarados-Mega @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 44 Atk / 40 Def / 32 SpD / 144 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Earthquake

Charizard-Mega-X @ Charizardite X
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 212 HP / 12 Atk / 176 SpD / 108 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Belly Drum
- Outrage
- Flare Blitz
- Flame Charge

Magnezone @ Electrium Z
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Electroweb
- Zap Cannon
- Metal Sound
- Flash Cannon
The first is a simple team, but with no real counters using some of the best pokemon in the tier.
Gyara bulks most attacks, then dds up to KO back. 144 Spe evs allow it to outspeed Jumpluff and Metagross at +1.
Charizard tanks a Specs Greninja Hydro Cannon, and boosts up with Flame Charge to KO with Outrage. Belly Drum lets Zard beat stall mons like Type:Null and Slowbro.
Magnezone is also useful as a stallbreaker using Metal Sound and deals with the bulky waters the other two struggle with like Tapu Fini.

2 Cores 1 Team, by Synonimous
dragonite.png
charizard-mega-y.png
tapu-fini.png

Dragonite @ Flyinium Z
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 192 HP / 136 Atk / 28 Def / 152 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Fly
- Dragon Dance
- Extreme Speed
- Earthquake

Charizard-Mega-Y @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Drought
EVs: 152 Def / 148 SpA / 208 Spe
Timid Nature
- Blast Burn
- Hidden Power Electric
- Solar Beam
- Flame Charge

Tapu Fini @ Tapunium Z
Ability: Misty Surge
EVs: 228 HP / 96 Def / 68 SpA / 116 Spe
Bold Nature
- Nature's Madness
- Taunt
- Brine
- Moonblast
The third is just another solid team, good matchups all around.
Flyinium Dragonite's speed let it hit 351 at +1, outspeeding Jumpluff. Espeed and EQ round out the set, letting it beat threats like Magnezone and Heatran
CharY's EVs let it beat every MGyara set with HPElectric -> Solar beam/Blast Burn while tanking every +1 attack and always outspeeding. CharY also deals with key threats like Slowbro.
Tapu Fini catches a lot of stall mons that beat the other two with Taunt and Z Nature's Madness. It's EVs let it bulk something, I don't remember what since I stole this set from Mace lmao

Regarding Sample Teams:
  1. Sample team submissions without descriptions will be deleted on the spot. This is not meant to be a team dump, we're looking for strictly the best, most well-rounded teams that can be used to at least moderate success by just about anyone. If you aren't willing to tell us what the team does, then we won't even consider it for a sample team. This includes explaining EV spreads, move selection, what can be swapped around, metagame coverage, etc. Some of the teams below may not have descriptions; this is mostly due to the fact that they were submitted long before the enforcement of having descriptions, and were reviewed by the VR Council to be good enough, despite the lack of explanation.
  2. Back and forth conversations about teams will be deleted on the spot. This thread is solely meant for the submission of potential sample teams, not oneliners critiquing them about how certain mons could be optimized or what 3-0s a given team. If you wish to engage in discussion about a certain sample team submission, you have options between the 1v1 room, the discord, or the Team Bazaar.
  3. You may make as many sample team submissions as you like, since waiting for the VR Council to vote on teams individually may end up taking a long time, as we've seen with the lull in changes to the sample teams. That said, you must still adhere to rule 1 and provide detailed descriptions for each team you submit.

Deoxys-speed is a well known Chad with its Choice Specs and ID/Amnesia Sets. Why not combine them into an objectively better hybrid ID - Psycho Boost set? A while ago, I decided to make the greatest meme team of all time, Deoxys Speed, Xurkitree, and Sudowoodo. The team has undergone some changes, such as Sudowoodo being traded for Golem. The team struggles with Will-o-Wisp Gardevoir, Fast Tapu Lele, and Krookodile. Some of the other sample teams lose to some more common things, so these weaknesses should be acceptable. In addition, I swapped my Xurkitree set for Iron Crusher’s so that it reliably beats Mega Metagross and Mega Gyarados. This allowed me to go for Rockium Z Golem, which has a much better Zard matchup than Groundium. Xurkitree takes out Meloetta and Magearna, as well as a variety of other Pokemon such as Sableye, Togekiss, Ferrothorn, and Slowbro with its absolutely massive Z-Zap Cannons. Deoxys Speed blanket checks most of the physical metagame, like Zygarde, Landorus-T, Golem, and Donphan, as well as speed traps such as Jumpluff, Whimsicott, and Vivillon. Deoxys Speed can use Z Psycho Boost incredibly well to invalidate Kommo-o, Lopunny, and other Fighting and Poison types. Deoxys Speed’s shaky Matchups, such as Charizard, Pinsir, Gyarados, and Metagross, can all be dealt with by either Golem or Xurkitree. The team, as previously stated has problems with some special attackers such as Lele and Gardevoir. Most special attackers are beaten through virtue of Charge Xurkitree or Golem just countering them individually. The team has very little overlap on matchups, so predicting correctly is key, however, I don’t think that this disqualifies the team from being a sample, as it is a strong team with not too many weaknesses. Deoxys Speed beats Physical Dragonite, which golem also can, and Xurk beats special dnite. The Pokemon are relatively easy to use, with the exception of Deoxys Speed, which still isn’t that complicated. The team has gotten me to 1800 and to 1700s on numerous occasions, while using the version that had Sudowoodo, which is fully outclassed by Golem.

Your teams gets bopped by specially defensive Ground-type Pokemon like Landorus-T and Krookodile, and generally seems to struggle against bulky Ground-type Pokemon like Mega Swampert and Mega Camerupt. My observation is that Deoxys-S is the weak link in this team; if it could be switched up, it wod generally help the overall performance of the team!!
116+ SpA Deoxys-Speed Shattered Psyche (200 BP) vs. 180 HP / 0 SpD Landorus-Therian: 307-363 (84.3 - 99.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

{Forget Krookodile calc; DeoS just sits down and cries ;;}

0+ SpA Sheer Force Camerupt-Mega Fire Blast vs. 100 HP / 0 SpD Deoxys-Speed: 255-301 (95.8 - 113.1%) -- 75% chance to OHKO
252+ Atk Golem Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 124 Def Solid Rock Camerupt: 289-342 (84 - 99.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

With that said, I'd like to make a suggestion... Bruxish

Bruxish @ Psychium Z
Ability: Dazzling
EVs: 196 HP / 252 Def / 60 SpA
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Ice Beam
- Surf
- Reflect
Reflect is decent on Bruxish, allowing Z-Ref Bruxish to soak up Z+STAB from GolPhan and be unaffected by priority. Also beats MVenu, ZyDad, LandoT, Krookodile, Mega Camerupt, amongst others

252+ Atk Donphan Tectonic Rage (180 BP) vs. 196 HP / 252 Def Bruxish through Reflect: 150-177 (46 - 54.2%) -- 55.9% chance to 2HKO
252+ Atk Donphan Earthquake vs. 196 HP / 252 Def Bruxish through Reflect: 84-99 (25.7 - 30.3%) -- guaranteed 4HKO

252+ Atk Lopunny-Mega Giga Impact vs. 196 HP / 252 Def Bruxish: 276-325 (84.6 - 99.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Lopunny-Mega Flail (200 BP) vs. +1 196 HP / 252 Def Bruxish: 246-289 (75.4 - 88.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

I mean, it's just a suggestion, maybe it might work, maybe it might not....

Yeah:
In reality, Type null is a little similar to Porygon2 with a very good defense and special defense increased thanks to eviolite, with 2 moves stall: Iron def and confide. It totally manages all the mons that can be placed or hypers offenses. I deduce that he's a bit of a "cancer".

M-ttar manages both zard, lele and slowbro and others likely to be beaten by ttar. To beat lele and m-slowbro it's a bit specific, actually I added specially "screech" to it to win the duel with the boots they get with reflect or iron-defene. And so taunt to prevent being taunt with the decrease in the speed of rock-tomb (lol).

The main weaknesses of Ttar and Type: Null are M-Gyara, M-Gardevoir and Tapu-Fini, so Mawile could contribute to a good synergy of this team but I am sure there would be others who are probably better than Mawile but it takes a lot of time and thought.

I'm sorry if there are still strange words that you can't understand, if I could write in french this post would have more than a hundred lines, but my English is not yet perfect but I'm doing everything I can to write....

Well, the deoxys calc is relevant, however the Golem one isn’t. Ancient Power Cam doesn’t beat Golem, and Golem can typically pick up a KO with Rockium through protect.

Against Lando-T I can use Iron Defense, and typically pick up a 2KO safely.

Never had problems against Swampert either.

Magearna @ Fairium Z

This is a cool team, and I have had many success using it. Into each mon's matchups

Garchomp is the charizard counter for this team. There is not a single charizard that can beat this chomp... ever (as far as the 6 ppl i have asked know). This mon beats:

Megagross, Gearna, Zards, Mega Garde, Aegislash, zone, Mew, Heatran, Fini(?), Zeraora (without outrage), Victini among many others

Magearna imo is the strongest 1v1 mon, and for this team it beats:

Megados, Naganadel, Megagross again, Not-groundz Dnite, Kommo-o, Lele, Pz (not conversion HPFire xD), Megagarde, Phondan, Meloetta, Scarf Chomp, Primarina, Haxo, Clefable, among many others

Pheromosa is one of my fav mons to use, even though it is slightly underrated. For this team, it cleans up:
LandoT, Pluff, Greninja, Specs genesect, Zyg-C, Lopunny, Megabro ,etc.

This team is extremely strong, but it is weak to MegaPert. HP Rock is used on phero to have another safe pick, but HP Grass can be used to improve the MegaPert matchup.
252 SpA Choice Specs Pheromosa Hidden Power Grass vs. 168 HP / 52 SpD Swampert-Mega: 360-424 (93.9 - 110.7%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO

If KyuB is unbanned, it will have a good matchup vs this team (bc of its multitude of sets), but lets be honest, KyuB will have an insanely good matchup against any team. Bulkier roost/nobleroar or roost/sub sets will beat magearna, scarf will beat pheremosa, and both of them will beat chomp.

Groundium Dnite does well agaisnt this team also, but using blizzard on Pheromosa will beat it.
252 SpA Choice Specs Pheromosa Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Multiscale Dragonite: 306-362 (79.2 - 93.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Pheromosa Blizzard vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Multiscale Dragonite: 374-440 (96.8 - 113.9%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO

HP Ice metal sound zone does well agaisnt this team.

And apparently Pyukumuku beats this team, but I've never seen it so you should be good at that front.

Hi, please do not teambuild here. This thread is for sample team submissions only.
If you're having any second doubts about your sample team submission, I'd suggest deleting it and getting advice on the team from people in the 1v1 Room on Pokemon Showdown, the teambuilding channel in the 1v1 discord, or posting it in the Team Bazaar and Showcase thread.

While it may not seem like it, Magearna and Whimsicott act as the main core of the team:
  • Magearna is largely considered the most powerful Pokemon in the meta at the current moment, because the single double dance set it runs can take out a majority of things in the meta. It is the centre of the team and the main killer.
  • Whimsicott provides amazing support to magearna. It can simply bait out any steel type out there trying to block off Magearna's Z-Fleur Cannon, Tank a Super-Effective hit thanks to Babiri Berry and beat them to a stall battle. Whimsicott's balanced EV build allows it to tank as big of a variety of hits while having a higher spdef than def, blocking download users. Taunt as a 4th move allows to counter other taunt users that think they can easily cover whimsicott.
  • Dragonite covers the biggest threats to this duo. The combined typings of whimsicott and magearna greatly cover most other threats except for fire type. The standard Z Flying set can handle fire type threats such as Charizard, Victini, Incineroar, Volcarona etc. who would otherwise largely threaten the other 2. The lack of need for sturdy coverage, which is provided by whimsicott, allows it to run rock tomb to beat heatran.
  • Biggest Weakness: Mega Metagross. This Pokemon can beat all 3 by running the according counter moveset; Laser Focus + Earthquake for Magearna, Ice Punch for Dragonite and Meteor Mash+ Bullet Punch for Whimsicott. This means that at least one of your Pokemon will always counter Metagross, but it's up to you to understand which one.
Overall this team performs very well both on ladder and in tournaments, the only downside is that is very pick-dependant. You are not going to get easy 3-0s with this teams often.

The team overall is good. But I dont think that many Speed Evs are necessary for Gyara. Upper Gyara is speedcreeping other Gyaras, who are invested to outspeed base 110 at plus 1. Thats personally completely enough fpr Gyara. The Zard is weird too. The upper Zard is invested to tank Specs 252 Timid Draco from Nagandel non mega 100%percent of the time. It has also the speed to outspeed base 80s without boosting and base 140s at +1.

252+ SpA Dragonite Supersonic Skystrike (185 BP) vs. 232 HP / 220 SpD Charizard-Mega-X: 250-295 (70.4 - 83%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Even switching to SPECIAL dragonium Z provides a 50/50, with megaing (Dragonite should Z) and non-megaing (dnite should rock tomb) on the deciding turn.

Seems like an OK team at best, probably pretty fun since whimsi is a meme, but losing to zardx is not sample-team-worthy

just switch to occa berry whimsicott you dum dum (or z charm, since that zard doesnt run any attack investment). That's what I did and it serves as bait.
also no, Whimsicott is not a meme, it is a genuinely strong Pokemon that many people will struggle against due to it's low profile presence on ladder (so teams are usually unprepared to face it). Its versatility in what it can beat lets it take one 95% of the meta just by switching sets.

But you nominated the team with Babiri. Im sure there are other 3-0es if there is no Babiri but Occa. You cant say just use this Berry to counter that mon unless you are sniping and you actually know which mons you are facing.

I mean, you're right, I didn't quite think through and analyze the team carefully before nomming it. I just thought it was a fairly strong team that wasn't too hard to understand for beginners, and I wanted to revamp the 1v1 sample teams thread a bit, since it's kind of outdated.
To be fair the main reason I use this team is because it's so easy to switch sets between the three mons, since they're so versatile, so I ended up not realizing the flaw in the fact that it loses to will-o zardX

bulky special attacking team:
The Genesect that I use is pretty good defensively, it can survive a Groundium Z Donphan, a +1 M-Gyara, and Psychium Lele. Only downside to it is its speed, which there is no investment whatsoever. Scarf Gene usually beats Magnezone but because there is no boost to Sect's speed, it loses. It also loses to M-Lucario with Sub-Reversal set.

The Tapu Lele can beat basically every viable Fire type in 1v1, INCLUDING Zard Y with its Drought. The set includes Rain Dance, which takes away Drought. CM and Rain Dance also add some attack to it. It beats Lele, both Zards, DNite, M-Gyara, M-Mawile, Both Blaziken sets, Lando, +more. Its main weakness at this point is Zeraora, which I can see around the meta.

Mew runs the typical Fake Out Mewnium Z. Overheat and Dark Pulse are added to get more of a wider range to attack opponents. It beats both Zards, Lando, M-Mawile, Magearna (If you play it correctly), Ferrothorn, Zeraora, Donphan, etc.

what does dark pulse accomplish? nothing on that list loses to dark pulse, Nasty Plot would be significantly better in this case

In addition, this team is 3-0d by Charge Zeraora, which is incredibly common on ladder and in tournaments.

Lol in the description you kept saying lele

2. Mewnium never beats magearna unless it runs taunt and nasty plot, in which case it's a 50/50 (you run neither)

3. You need some speed on fini to beat Y, if they are max max, solar beam into like air slash will win w/out a problem as you don't outspeed with a z rain dance

Lastly this team loses to a lot :o

So with this current loadout I do have a bit of a Kew Issue. Genesect needs a Bug Buzz crit to win, and Bug Buzz has 16 pp. This comes out to about a 50% chance. This is not that great. What I can potentially do is swap Gyarados to Crunch, make Genesect offensive to put it on Gardevoir and Tapu Lele duty, then swap Zeraora to Life Orb and make it beat Dragonite. Needs further investigation.
Edit: This loadout would have Kommo-o issues

- Fire Punch
Mega Metagross + Mega Slowbro is one of the best cores in the current metagame. The first being a very strong bulky powerhouse with a very good typing, that can take on the likes of Tapu Lele and Mega Gardevoir with ease. Its very high bulk allows it to tank hits such as Dark Pulse from Greninja and Crunch from Mega Gyarados, which would otherwise pose a threat to Mega Slowbro, and KO back with moves like Thunder Punch and Meteor Mash. It can also use the combination of Laser Focus and Earthquake to beat Magearna. The latter uses it's extremely high bulk paired with the amazing duo of abilities Oblivious and Shell Armor, to stall out opponents like Donphan and Zygarde, which would otherwise KO Metagross. Its water typing also gives good coverage against Fire Types, typing which Metagross struggles against. The duo overall struggles against Pokemon like Mega Charizard Y, Genesect and Aegislash, so Specially Defensive Mega Tyranitar is perfectly fit as a third teammate. Its EVs allow it to tank Bug Buzz from Choice Specs Genesect and the combo of electroweb into Gigavolt Havoc from Magnezone. It also provides a dark typing to better handle Whimsicott, in absence of bullet punch.
Overall this team lacks Offensive Boosting capabilities, so Pokemon like Type: Null who can set up defensively have the upper hand. You might also struggle against very strong offensive forces such as Choice Band Kartana, who can ohko Mega Slowbro and Tyranitar without having to worry about Metagross' attacks

  • Mega Aggron is a very strong and bulky powerhouse in the 1v1 metagame that can beat a vast range of opposing Pokemon, such as Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Tapu Lele, Naganadel, Genesect, Haxorus, Mega Diancie, Mega Tyranitar, Mega Gardevoir and Magearna.
  • Its lack in special defense is backed up by Mega Gardevoir, which also has good matchups against physically bulky mons which would beat Mega Aggron thanks to its Fairy-type special nuke. Gardevoir is easily able to beat Incineroar, Mega Gyarados, Dragonite, Kommo-o, Magearna, Greninja, Donphan and others.
  • Haxorus ties it all up together, it creates a solid Dragon-Fairy-Steel core and uses its Choice Scarf to outspeed and OHKO threats such as Scarf Porygon-Z, Heatran, Magnezone, Jumpluff, Mega Lopunny, Greninja, Ambipom, Whimsicott.

This team combines the two most dominant 3-mon cores in the meta, being DragonFairySteel and FireWaterGrass. Such a fact makes for a trio in which almost every single weakness of a single Pokemon gets covered by both the other two. As for the mons itself:
  • Mega Charizard X is a behemoth of the 1v1 metagame, and some would argue it's the strongest Pokemon in the metagame. It can deal with a lot of high tier mons in the metagame, such as Dragonite, Magearna, Mega Charizard Y, Magnezone, Mega Metagross, Jumpluff and many others. Its EVs are specifically made to tank a Draco Meteor from Choice Specs Naganadel in non-mega form, tank a Hydro Cannon from Choice Specs Greninja, and outspeed Dragonite with no speed boosts.
  • Primarina seems like a very obvious choice when building with Mega Charizard X. It's typing covers the first one perfectly, and its insane Physical Bulk investments make it an unkillable threat. Its 175 power Water STAB Z Move combined with Torrent and Aqua Jet make it perfect at dealing with Pokemon like Mega Gyarados, Mega Charizard X, Scarf Porygon-Z, Landorus-Therian, Kommo-o, Donphan, Golem, Sawk, Mega Tyranitar and many others.
  • Ferrothorn is where we wrap things up together nicely. It uses his amazing dual typing paired with his defensive capabilities to wall everything that would hit Charizard and Primarina too hard, and either stall them with Leech Seed and Protect, or Hit them with a super-effective Z-Boosted Power Whip, or STAB Gyro Ball. These mons include Porygon-Z, Tapu Lele, Mega Slowbro, Tapu Fini, Primarina, Mega Gardevoir, Togekiss and others.
Weaknesses: this team struggles greatly when facing Pokemon like Grassium Z Heatran, who walls Mega Charizard X and Ferrothorn, and can just OHKO Primarina with a Z Boosted Solar Beam.
The lack of a Taunt user and the absence of the move Encore on Primarina also makes the team quite susceptible to Type:Null, and potentially other types of stall.

Necrozma is a very powerful Pokemon in the 1v1 metagame. While most people would use the stall variant, this set makes use of its peculiar move "Prismatic Laser", which is the strongest special move in the game, to fire off an insane Choice Specs-boosted STAB nuke. This, paired with its good bulk, its amazing ability, and good coverage moves such as Heat Wave, makes it very very strong. It's EVs are specifically made to beat Genesect, Tapu Fini and Garchomp, and other than that it can also beat mons like Greninja, Magnezone, Mega Lopunny, Kommo-o, Ferrothorn, Donphan and others. Mega Slowbro is there to deal with opponents that hit way too strong for Necrozma to deal with, or that don't die with a single hit, namely Dragonite, Magearna, Tapu Lele, Meloetta, Mega Metagross etc.
To round it all up, Mega Gyarados takes care of hard matchups such as Dragonite, Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Type:Null and others.

Here we go, 10 teams that have the potential to become a sample team. None of them have a description yet, because that requires a considerable amount of time which I do not have at the moment, so I will edit the thread with explanations in the near future.
I tried to only use high tier Pokemon and to repeat them in multiple teams as little as possible, to give a better variety.
