i am ever-so-lucky that i got assigned to make a team for my homie Bernian , so merry christmas!!!!!!
:sv/metagross: :sv/primarina: :sv/regidrago: : I really hate Regidrago
your requested pokemon was metagross, and I really suck at building in a new meta (haha im very funny), so I looked at the new mons list and most of them were dragons. Metagross is a steel, and if I went with a dragon-fairy-steel core this should get you ez 2-1s vs the new mons that people will be spamming! I added primarina next as its a (hopefully) viable fairy that I did not have to see 5000 times while doing wc work, it does fairy things by beating dragons and has good typing, so surely its not bad? Finally I added drago as the 3rd because what screams dragons more than a dragon that is (sometimes) powerful enough to beat steel types. Also this thing sounds incredibly busted please spam it until the metagame evolves to build teams that are not constantly 2-1d by it.

Set details:
they were all ripped of the ss set comp, except meta
Metagross: you live band meow and drago
primarina: Outspeeds speedless tyranitar, bulk ada bandshifu and timid specs kyurem freeze-dry, rest dumped in spa for maximal power. CM and Encore are both antistall
regidrago: Max/max jolly to outspeed various mons that try to speed creep ada regidrago. (lol)

Threats:
I do not know. Frankly speaking, I did not test this. However, I sent it over to my buddy stravench who pretty much approved it, noting that heavy slam>meteor mash is an option if one would like 30 more basepower and 10 more accuracy points against targets who are lighter than you. I have no idea, but mash has always worked in past gens and has a 20% chance to raise attack so you can also cheese wins with it. Erm, wait for the metagame to develop and figure out what is better, I guess
An additional small thing to note is that the meta does not have that much attack investment, so like, calc before you click it. (and opposing drago isnt actually a 0-3 into this team as I hoped, since scarf is a 1-2 :c)

I hope you enjoy your present! (and I hope there aren't a bunch of 3-0s that I missed)

merry christmas XanderUrBoi
:Deoxys-speed: :cinderace: :sylveon: (click)

team built around deo-s, chose pressure stall although it has multiple different set options rn because I felt it takes advantage of deos insane speed stat + ability and move pool, but I can see some offensive stored power variant working here so feel free to experiment. deo beats a large portion of the meta virtue of only really losing to darks priority encore/taunt etc and multi hit moves. wanted something fast and hard hitting that could deal with a large portion of the prior mentioned things deos struggles with and landed on ace, has the speed power and coverage to beat a lot of the priority users and darks as well as just being a good mon in general (you can run lorb ace for val if you really want but i don’t find it necessary as this preview exerts a lot of pressure on val naturally making it really hard to click into these 3). sylv last for scale shot dragons another dark check + formed fairy fire core with ace. sylv bulk for band gouging fire and scarf pz.

hope you like it :)

Time to present the best unviable team for my favorite unviable player SwordIsBored , so Merry Christmas to you!
When I first read the message, I was like "Why not Specs tf?", but in the Christmas spirit I gave it a fair shot and built a team that surely is not awful.

Building Process

First of, I started out with your desired Pokemon which was Deoxys-Speed with Choice Band as item of choice. I gave it Zen Headbutt for STAB, Superpower for coverage against Steel and Dark types (Darkrai basically), and of course don't sleep on the Porygon-Z OHKO, Knock Off in order to have a chance vs things like Specs Necrozma and ghosts like Pult, and lastly Trick to annoy setters. Next I wanted to pair it with something that can be a reliable answer to Steel types like Corvi, so Gouging Fire was the first partner. Honestly this mon goes hard af, I don't really need to explain its set since it's just pure POWER. Only thing I want to mention is that Burning Bulwark is there to beat Azu. Lastly, I didn't like the fact that we get owned by Bax and any decent Dragon-type or Ground type actually, so Azu Primarina was the last member of the team. Alluring voice is to beat opposing CM Prima.

Threats

Honestly I didn't give it much thought, but as soon as I won more than enough games in 1400s - 1500s, I was like "okay that works I guess". Only noticable threat is Archalurdon (or whatever) but it depends on its set. If it's herb electro you go Deoxys-S and you have a chance (Knock off or Trick). If it's custap electro you click Primarina Alluring Voice and pray for confusion. You beat any set that doesn't run electro, but that doesn't exist I guess. Yeah besides this thing, I didn't have much trouble with anything else, and you won't either cause I trust your incredible clicking abilities.

Thoughts

I had fun building this team and testing it, since this request was kind of a challenge for me as I am still pretty new to 1v1 building. I really hope you like it, and that it is close to what you were expecting to see. You can hmu on discord anytime to discuss about the team, and maybe ask for more details of my thought process.

Merry Christmas to you and everyone in the 1v1 community!

Bonjour et joyeuses fêtes Vertigo! You asked for the fun and exciting mon that is Necrozma this fine early Indigo Disc meta. I didn't want to do some boring specs or stall set, so I decided to make a band set, which I definitely didn't just steal a set I made from when it was legal in SS

here was my building process:
:xy/necrozma:
Necrozma @ Choice Band
Ability: Prism Armor
Tera Type: Stellar
EVs: 252 HP / 116 Atk / 40 Def / 96 SpD / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Photon Geyser
- Rock Blast
- Outrage
- X-Scissor/Earthquake/Brick Break

This set lives cb Haxorus outrage and the spdef benchmark is specs Volcarona bug buzz. You can invest slightly more in defense to always live cb Arcanine-Hisui formation head smash, but its already a 25% to kill and just dodge lol. Rock blast is for Volcarona subbing, and is probably correct vs jogrepon. The 4th move slot is mostly cosmetic, but X-Scissor beats non choiced Hoopa-Unbound formation, eq is just good in general. brick break and iron head are possible but meh. Stone Edge is possible for better hearthflame matchup as well. Note that you do not defeat Meowscarada unless they are some bad set.

:xy/registeel:
Registeel @ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 248 HP / 172 Def / 84 SpD / 4 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Body Press
- Iron Defense
- Amnesia
- Rest
For it's teammate, I ran into the classic SV problem of needing to beat Fairy types + Regidrago. I decided on Registeel because not only does it fit the criteria of beating those guys, but in my experience laddering this metagame so far, I found that Registeel is an excellent mon in general, beating a lot of other common things like Serperior, Metagross etc. Assuming you don't get crit of course, but body press is excellent to prevent you from being a sitting duck. The evs I stole from SM, but they just maximize both of your defensive stats. Can add more speed creep if you want. Counter is also possible but doesn't make sense with body press.

:xy/primarina:
Primarina @ Custap Berry
Ability: Torrent
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 164 Def / 64 SpA / 28 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Cannon
- Moonblast
- Encore
- Endure
For the last mon, the main things I wanted to beat were Lando's and Urshifu, so I put on Primarina @ Custap Berry and called it a day. This is the set that I used, but any reasonable prim set is good: Icy Wind, Sitrus, Assault Vest, etc, you mainly just want it for the typing. It also masks the fact that Necrozma is band because the Volcarona answer could just be prim, for example. EVs live CB hax I think.

The main issues with this team to me are Deoxys-Speed if it has Taunt, and some bot Cinderace sets, but those mons are broken as shit and should be banned soon so who cares. Moltres-Galar can help those matchups, but then you are worse vs Landorus-Therian and have to hit Hurricanes, which is too much RNG in conjunction with Registeel being crit-bait. Hoopa-Unbound also requires setguessing with Registeel, but just ID realistically if they picked it.

Without further ado here is the team! I think its alright, made it to 1500 with relative ease in a hostile environment (david nadal laddering and bo_bobson27 using mono hoopa-unbound and flinching me a million times).

Merry Christmas delemon !!!
:wo-chien: :primarina: :iron-moth:

Its a pretty simple fgw core with WP Wo-chein. Decided to use WP bc it felt the most intersting set in the actual meta. Can deal with a bunch of psy types, non adamant rapid strike shifu, and has some good odds against other mu's. Custap prim for moth, dirge and other fire types that can threaten wo-chien. I wasnt sure if moth was the best as the last mon, but it felt consistent in some hard mu for the rest of the team.

Threats: This team felt weak agaisnt deoxys-s and cinder. Might be also inconsistent against raging bolt and archaludon. Hope there arent many 3-0 i missed

It was fun to build, hope u enjoy

merry Christmas Taka
:Urshifu: :Arcanine-Hisui: :Whimsicott:

You requested Urshifu so I decided to build around it with Custap Berry and decided to add Scarf Arcanine-Hisui (don't get coal for Christmas tho), Whimsicott ended up being the best fit to finish the team as it deals with most dragons and that the other 2 can't handle and beats Primarina and Iron Valiant with the help of Mental Herb

Merry Christmas LittEleven

The requested Pokémon was Blaziken, I thought of a set with setup and a lot of damage to take advantage of the speed boost. Deoxys-s came from the idea of disputing setup with the opponent, and basically this set would lose to dark types, which is a type that the Blaziken manages to cover. Landorus-T is the team's immediate damage, and can cover some defensive types.

Merry Christmas Itchy!!
:Iron Crown::Azumarill::Regidrago:
Here is your Iron Crown team! I went back and forth between a few sets, and eventually settled on Fast WP. This set bulks unboosted Volcanion Overheat at +1 SpD and CB great tusk at +2 defense. Note that this set loses to Valiant because you only have one damaging move. You can replace stored power with psyshock to fix this, but this hurts the Iron Hands matchup.
I paired Iron Crown with Azumarill to cover its weaknesses to ground, fire, and dark. This set bulks CB Urshifu and specs Iron Valiant. I gave it Belly Drum to break through Registeel.
Scarf Regidrago works as a third to patch up weaknesses to Hoopa, Cinderace, Greninja, and Meowscarada and is generally a powerful pokemon. This set has SpA to OHKO bulkless Cinderace with Draco Meteor, and tanks specs Deoxys. The rest of the evs are dumped into defense for band hoopa.

:ambipom: :gouging-fire: :whimsicott: [Ambipom]

Merry Christmas Lialiabeast !

Some sketchy matchups around the board, Babiri Whimsicott's a good way to beat Archaludon and Tusk which are solid gouging answers (taunt over encore for best odds vs encorers like tales/val/prim), Ambipom is eved for bando-t (fake out, tickle -> ice punch) but generally kills things with STAB moves, Gouging Fire rounds out most else (steels , other fires, max speed for the mirror); should be fine to tech sets mid ladder otherwise.

Have fun laddering!

hey Vaictador merry christmas! i got your team right here

:sv/espathra: :sv/hoopa-unbound: :sv/cresselia:

espathra is a really fun mon to work with since you can just decide to automatically beat like 50% of everything that's slower than you and a lot of stuff that's faster than you as well with the right ev spread, but i said fuck that and just went max max modest because the rolls were funnier. petaya is chosen here cause it's the most reliable way to get a spa boost since ideally you keep swapping between tect and sub until you get +6 speed, pop the petaya, and hopefully kill whatever's in front of you. hoopa exists to beat up the darks since path isn't running gleam, it's also max max because again that's funnier imo then trying to bulk and live hits. final mon was cress to round out the mono-psychic team. evs are only really so that you beat mewoscarda consistently (you bulk any band hit and always kill back with something, same for scarf, av might be trickier but i haven't seen it yet). teams struggles into steels and some fires but as long you pretend they don't exist it's fine. in practice the flowchart was like the following: if path wasn't 3-0ed then you click that, and if it was then you click hoopa. if hoopa is 3-0ed then you click cress, and if cress is 3-0ed then you change the team. usually i just clicked path and won.

this was fun! i like doing this tradition but unfortunately i can't play this tier for more than a few hours until custap and prima ruin my enjoyment again lol. see everyone next year!

" 'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the Smogon Forums, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse........well, except for a family of Adamant Maushold, who were all preparing to Tickle, Tidy Up, and then Population Bomb old Saint Nick if he didn't reveal if Unova remakes were real or not. Unfortunately, he had been too busy being a beta-tester for GTA VI, and had no idea. Furious, the Maushold used Thief on his sack of presents, only to find a single cardboard box labeled "Property of Team Cherry - Do not open." Curious, they unwrapped and opened the box, carefully using their sharp claws to peel off the packaging tape, and took a single peek inside. Instantly, they all fainted, and feeling sorry for them Santa called an ambulance to pick them up while he continued on with his holiday deliveries. While being healed back to health in the Pokemon Center, Nurse Joy and her fellow Chansey recall the words they endlessly repeated as they were shaking in fear:
"SILKSONG...............
DELAYED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE"

Requested mon - Maushold

Merry Christmas!!!! happysh
This year, I've had the joy of beginning my first experiences with the 1v1 ladder and often battling against you under my alt of Lieutenant Morag. Hoping for another year of merry 1v1 fun!

Honestly, I found Maushold to do pretty bad overall against the new meta introduced in the second DLC. Wide lens + population bomb tend to not OHKO most mons given how slightly below average its attack is, and if it tries to tidy up most mons can OHKO it in the meantime. Trick choice scarf wasn't great either, as most people recognized they didn't need to set up and could just beat Maushold by using any attacking move. I hope my Hoopa and Zapdos can help carry Maushold, cause I don't got much expectation for the mouse outside of Leech Seed users. But I did enjoy testing this mon, especially when I accidentally faced you on ladder while trying to secretly make a team for you XD. Anyways, again, happy holidays, and here's to another year of 1v1!!

Merry Christmas BigChuchu

Requested Pokemon - Wyrdeer - Sandwich Team

The Pokemon you requested Wyrdeer, is a slightly worse Meloetta which has intimidate, psychic noise, and disable going for it. With trick and disable it can beat Mons with minimal SpD, leech seed users, and set up mons/physical mons that don't do enough damage like Ting-Lu. I paired this with Archaludon to beat most fairy and dragon types. The Landorus-T is a physical attacker with an immunity to ground and high attack because the team struggles with Pokemon that have a high SpD. From my testing, the Team gets 3-0ed by Spectrier and leech seed users like Serperior because it does enough damage that Wyrdeer can't 1v1 it and the other 2 Pokemon can't OHKO it.

I had fun spamming Wyrdeer on the ladder and I hope that you have just as fun of a time laddering with the team. Happy Holidays from the guy who has used nothing but Wyrdeer on ladder for the past week.

Merry christmas (ig its right after christmas haha) Leru but I hope you're doing well! You requested a team built around :registeel:, and so thats what i did. Unfortunately, I learned that Registeel lost Seismic Toss, but Body Press is a powerful tool regardless. I maximized bulk in physdef to better take on Arcanine-H and Hoopa-U as well as DD forms of Drago, and just in general as I felt the spdef was not necessary for its role here. I paired it with :greninja:, as it could provide a lure for fairies (to dissuade them for our third mon) while also covering mus vs other bulkier / special attacking Fire-types and the Encore Ogerpon formes. Finally, :raging-bolt: is another mon that is entirely new and underexplored, but it takes on the role of 1v1ing Primarina with an Assault Vest, while covering waters like Manaphy. The speed creeps fast base 50s and is dumped in physdef for better odds vs AV Azu and Primarina.

Final team: :registeel: :greninja: :raging bolt: (Minimized inaccuracy to merely gunk / draco / hydro)

yo merry christmas Marshme1to
this team definitely has some nasty 3-0s but that's what happens when you build with excadrill in this goofy meta

https://pokepast.es/591f936283744da0
so this is like kind of solid i think, tho it's got a not-great ogerpon mu and has to do some setguessing
:excadrill:
scarf excadrill beats cinderace, hoopa, greninja (usually (if they have no bulk)), and like a handful of other things
:primarina:
icy wind encore prim is a classic anti-stall guy and beats those annoying ground types for excadrill
:zapdos:
eerie impulse zap handles opposing prim and like hopefully necrozma and meloetta (dude there are so many brokens in this meta it's messed up)

Hey bud Fancy1

:golem::primarina::zapdos-galar:
https://pokepast.es/368d473885857750

You requested golem. This mon seemed pretty bad and it lost some great tools like counter and sucker punch after the gen switch. I decided to use cb since the power is pretty needed for mus like bax and sylv. Speed is for 8 spe registeel. This guy really doesn't offer anything to the preview that another ground doesnt give but it's not too unusable overall.

This prim does all the standard icy encore stuff covering cress, val while giving standard fairy and water matchups. I'm a big believer in 252+ pixie plate which makes you very consistent into opposing prim and helps vs spect.

Zapg covers oger, hax, probably hoopa and makes stuff like band ursh less scary.

Appreciate you lots and I hope the incoming new year treats you well :]

hiii Stella_R here is your kyurem team
https://pokepast.es/6f2f73fdc1d7fa98
i wanted to build with reflect + wp kyurem to lure metagross but the team ended up with a fire type anyway

kyurem lives moonblast from primarina, and meteor mash twice into bullet punch from metagross under reflect.
incin lives jolly band haxorus close combat and the attack is for cinder. the remaining evs i put into spdef for odds vs necrozma and meloetta.
metagross lives liquidation twice from life orb azumarill, and sparkling aria from choice specs primarina twice.

mb for bad formatting i did this on mobile

Merry Christmas Opchurtle100 I tried my best to make a good team with toxicroak and blastoise. Blastoise it's a really fun mon with shell smash ngl so take the team, I hope you like it!
https://pokepast.es/f49cc330496833db

-Blastoise it's the star of the team! With this ev spread can take good a hit and use shell smash, then finish his enemies with either hydro cannon or ice beam. Custap berry works well with endure for fastest mons/priority users.
-Toxicroak hits hard and can poison with fake out, very helpful to chip enemies and with av can be bulkier in the special side while hitting hard with strong moves.
-Corviknight, the inmortal physical wall. With iron defense and bpress bypasses a lot of hard enemies, can stop setup setters with taunt, recover half hp with roost and take physical hits incredibly well.
Enjoy it mate, I tried my best and I think this team it's very funny, good luck and merry Christmas!

Happy Holidays bored_glitch ! This is a new mon and tier for me so apologies in advance.
:porygon-z: :iron-crown: :moltres-galar:

I picked Iron Crown as a partner for PZ to cover a lot of its weaknesses including Sylveon, Iron Valiant, Great Tusk, and Urshifu-R among others. I picked a fast set mainly to outspeed Urshifu-R and Hoopa, but this mon can cheese a lot of slower mons with its setup (I was able to beat a Gouging Fire for instance with it). Stored Power is better for Iron Hands while Psyshock is better for Valiant, I personally like Psyshock as Goltres isn't the most consistent Valiant answer. I picked Goltres to solidy some important matchups such as Ogerpon, Cinderace, Great Tusk, Dragapult, and Chien Pao. The SP.A investment ensures it OHKOs Chien-Pao after a Berserk boost. Goltres also provides the team a more consistent answer to scarf hoopa and cresselia. While I didn't notice any glaring 3-0s with this team, the pokemon are not the most consistent (setup reliant and custap can always be cheesed) and you'll have to set guess against pokemon like Primarina.

Happy Holidays Exotic64! You wanted a team revolving around Emboar, so after some trial and error I landed on this!
:emboar: :primarina: :zapdos: (click me!)

Team is pretty solid. Emboar speed tier is to outspeed modest hoopa-u, fast necro, and max speed corv at +1. Mon is really good at stopping stall pokemon or taking special hits while also hitting hard. Primarina is for dragons that the team can struggle with. I went with a custap set to help the speed tiers and also so you won't get 3-0d by cinderace after it gunk shots you. Encore is to help vs pokemon that stall you out but you can always change it to cm or aqua jet depending on your desires (cm can def help vs amulet pokemon!). Zapdos I threw on to help with some weaknesses emboar can have as a special wall. Sometimes it just straight up loses to strong special attackers like vs raging bolt or cresselia. The speed tier could probably be raised if you want an easier time vs porygon-z (specs outspeeds and kills emboar and zap but should die to primarina, but the prim mu is a bit 50/50 for you to encore into trick or endure the hyperbeam and revenge kill).

Main threat to the team is clear amulet CM pokemon as you don't have a solid way to deal with them. Emboar helps a bit but is too hit or miss of a mon to win every mu (specifically vs psychics with amulet). Some alternatives you can look at is adding :rillaboom: or :serperior: with taunt. They should be bulky enough or strong enough to 1v1 the pokemon after taunting them while also letting you still beat opposing primarinas.

Hope you enjoy!

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year Miyoko
You've requested me to make a Meloetta team, which is also one of the mons ive enjoyed playing around with as well. Here is what I have:
https://pokepast.es/1bbea18aa0c165a4
:meloetta: :whimsicott: :okidogi:
Meloetta is able to run many sets, such as Metronome Echoed Voice, Specs, CM etc. however for this I have decided to use a Calm Mind set. I am running a life orb Meloetta which hopefully dishes out as much damage as possible with a STAB life orb boosted Hyper Beam, becoming a nuke after a Calm Mind boost. Shadow Ball and Psyshock are great coverage moves, with Psyshock destroying special walls and being a strong stab psychic move, and Shadow Ball being great as always to hit Cress, Pult, Dirge etc. I've decided to opt with max modest SpA EVs to try dish out as much damage as possible, then put enough speed to creep max speed Corviknight, leaving remaining EVs into HP. This can likely be optimised with more testing. I have then decided to pair this with Whimsicott, which is a very strong leech seeder right now, glueing the team against heavy hitting dragons such as Regidrago and being extremely threatening to everyone with a stall Leech Seed sub set. Occa Berry lures opposing Gouging Fire, and if they click even a banded Raging Fury you can withstand it and win by stalling and encore. Finally, I have decided to use Okidogi in the last slot, strong vs common meta threats such as Iron Valiant and being a strong AV attacker, winning vs non-special opponents will counters bolstered by its great bulk from HP. A few mu u may run into issues with are Sneasler or Clear Amulet Zapdos, you can try running other options like Gouging Fire or Metagross in the last slot to help with that accordingly.

Hope you enjoy!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays and Happy New Year Bea
https://pokepast.es/c0c0c5f6c72dcc46
:Sylveon: Needs no introduction and fairy types are better than ever now. Physdef custap with beam seems good and still very strong. I chose cm over fake tears as now there's an item that can let half the tier larp as a Sylveon answer.
:Cinderace: AV Cinderace is a favorite of mine, pairs up well with Sylveon and takes care of nearly every steel. Gunk shot beats fairies, HJK is very strong, sucker punch is priority and I chose blitz over pyro ball because I did not want every strong move to be able to miss.
:Raging Bolt: I wanted to use one of the new mons and needed something that matched up well against fire and water, so I recruited Clapping Neck as a big body that resists both. It hits stupidly hard with a protosynthesis boost to a base 137 special attack and taunt can let you thwart certain annoying mons. The way that you beat ground types with this team is
