2012/2013 Soccer/Football thread

Forgot to mention this but after the Ramos own goal, Madrid were pressing hard on United even before the red card. They were bound to score eventually. You can't take anything away from Modric's shot or Higuain's inch perfect pass to the far post, don't tell me Nani being on the pitch would have changed that. United had their chances all game and didn't capitalize. Madrid scored 3 goals, simple as that.

At first I thought it was harsh but after seeing the replay I dunno. I think the referee probably didn't have much choice... If he gave a yellow I think most people would be calling for his head too. Defo reminds me of De Jong vs Alonso, except Nani is just a little late and De Jong was in a geological era of his own with his timing! (Or he went for Alonso deliberately...)

I am sorta happy that Man U got the short end of the stick from the referee for once but I kinda do like to see English teams do well in europe. Also kinda quietly happy about RVP not being able to rub it in some more with a potential CL trophy (although he was totally right to leave Arsenal). Overall, I wasn't too bothered!!!

In Championship news, Cardiff might just start to fluff it up again!!! d'oh!

of course, the world Balance will be broken if Wigan get relegated and Cardiff get promoted.
speaking of refs, Howard Webb for the FA cup game V Chelsea

pictures of the rules, and me quoting a rule are the same.

ok.... lol
and no.. it doesnt. easy to park the bus against a team with no width trying to pass the ball into the net :P

I don't see how bringing up the De jong incident proves your point. It doesn't matter what actually happened, everyone thought he deserved a red and still do.

It's easy to park the bus against a team equipped with some of the world's best playmakers who are capable of taking advantage of the smallest cracks or gaps in the defence with incisive through balls,eh? How about Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena? Atleast United were playing at home.

We should've won after dominating for so long, that was an intense result. I'm still happy with the draw though. Props to Benitez for putting on Hernandez and not putting on Terry, Luiz and Cahill were great in the second half. Still, we shouldn't have conceded those 2 goals and we should've taken all of our chances.

Chelsea started horribly and almost went 3-0 down by halftime while hardly threatening United.Credit to Benitez for bringing Hazard on for Moses and Mikel for Lampard.Hazard got Chelsea back into the game with the goal of the match and Mikel sat back and gave Ramires the license to stride forward which is how Chelsea equalized.I do,however, disagree with his decision to bring Ba off for Torres who did nothing except shoot the ball straight De gea after a good move.

EDIT: Wigan vs Blackburn/Millwall and City vs United/Chelsea

Go wigan!!! I hope they win it

Regarding the liverpool spurs match, good win although they kinda gifted us the win with some terrible defending

That result really just makes our loss to them that much worse.

We would be right thereeeeeeeeeeee.

Still, thank you Liverpool.
