Here's a statistic: Man Utd have had no penalties given against them this season, and no red cards either.

Isn't the board of the FA full of Utd directors?

people tell me i'm deluded but I've always maintained that something is not right with the refereeing in the premier league.

there were statistics that showed that all the referees that gave something against man utd didn't ref one of their games for at least a year. as a top flight referee, you naturally want to be in charge of the game and the biggest ones include man utd. this is why the refs are afraid to give anything against man utd.

there is something fishy about the way refs are picked in this league.

Well if there truly is a scandal that extremely favors Man United, it will get uncovered eventually. Nothing can remain secret forever.

Tbf (although i only saw the last 10 minutes or so) in todays man u ardenal game the ref just looked incompetent... When chicharito got just thrown to the ground looking to break forward that was a clear foul... The handball on whichever united player that was with like 30 seconds to go should have been called... He just looked bad, not unfair (although that doesnt neccesarily say anything about the officiating being pro united or not in general, im not sure what my opinion of that is)

no pens or reds against in the league? perhaps thats because you cant concede pens or get sent off as much if you have the ball :p
the FA is favouring United junk gets old.

As much as I hate to defend United here, the Board Chairman is a Man City supporter lol, the vice is a Man United executive, but he's the only one on the board from United. Regardless, it is annoying how things end up in their favor most of the time.

people just like the whine and bitch about refereeing when it comes to the top tier teams. "uefalona" "juventus buy ref" etc

De Gea(Manu) Zabaleta(City), Ferdinand(Manu), Vertonghen(Tott), Baines(Everton), Mata(Chelsea), Carrick(Manu), Hazard(Chelsea), Bale(Tott), Suarez(Liverpool), Van Persie(Manu)

Bale was chosen as the Player of the Year AND Best Youngster.

My player of the year is Michael Carrick. Consistent all year and essential to Man Utd. My biggest criticism of him was his below average tackling and his performances when the opposing team press high up the pitch. He's improved massively and is one of the key figures in Manchester United team.

RVP has had a terrible second half of the season. He's scoring now but all of them are basically offsides and penalties.

Suarez has been consistent but I noticed most of his goals came in big chunks against teams in the lower half of the table. He hasn't been influential enough for me in the big games.

Bale has hit a purple patch just in time.

Mata has been great but not as much as the players I mentioned above.

Hazard doesn't deserve to be on the list. Cazorla should have been nominated instead.

To recap, 1) Carrick, 2) Suarez, 3) Bale.

As for the team of the year, Ferdinand and De Gea have no business being in it. Ashley Williams over the racist cunt and Mignolet / Begovic over De Gea. Cazorla > Hazard as well.

Carrick might have been consistent all season but he doesn't have that game changing ability that RVP and Bale possess. It was always going to be either RVP or Bale; no one on that list deserved it more than them. I do agree that Hazard did not deserve to be on the list or the team of the season as he had an average season at best.

Rafael can match him pretty well in an attacking sense but Zabaleta does shit on him at defending. It doesn't make any difference that no one noticed Carrick in previous seasons because decent consistent play won't win you awards (except maybe something like most consistent). As a midfielder, you don't win awards unless you get a lot of goals and/or assists. And Carrick has one goal and I'm not sure how many assists but they're not that many.

Carrick of this season is different than the one in previous seasons.

He has basically been pulling the strings and controlling matches all season long for the team that won the title. In the past, he used to play too many sideway and backward passes but the majority of his passes are forward accurate ones this season. Technically, he's been at the heart of all the man utd attacks seeing as they play from the back.

When Van Persie turned to shit, man utd kept winning. For me, if it was Carrick that lost form, that wouldn't have been the case.

not sure if srs

He's a holding midfielder/water carrier. His job isn't to score goals or rack up assists. He's done his job exceptionally well.

I agree that Cazorla and Begovic or Mignolet should have been in the team of the year. Surprised there's been no mention of Michu yet though.

Lol I was just about to come on and say how players like Michu at 'smaller' clubs never get recognition for various reasons and how Benteke has been so important to Villa this season. Then I go to check BBC Sport and wow lol!

Benteke is one of my fave players in the PL this season, I would pay 30mil to have him at Arsenal no bother. And he's an Arsenal fan too!!! No disrespect to Villa but Wenger ffs sign him up!!!

Also: I hope Wigan win their game in hand against City. That would really set the relegation cat amongst the bottom half's pigeons again! And it really would be the whole of the bottom half back into it!
