2012 music

I'm new to The XX (started listening to them because I heard Angels on a Spotify ad) but after listening to the older one I'd say you're probably right on that. The new one is still really solid. I especially like Angels, Sunset, and Swept Away.

Don't You Worry Child by Swedish House Mafia is a peach of a tune for all fellow chavs out there. A prime candidate to be blasted out on your phone at the back of the bus!

new Band of Horses is boring.
new Grizzly Bear is boring.
new Fang Island is boring.
new Circa Survive is boring.
new Mumford and Sons is...Mumford and Sons.

I have to agree with the new Grizzly Bear sentiment. It seems that Yet Again is the only song I really enjoy from the album, and even then it doesn't seem like a song that lasts very well. It's already getting rather old for me.

I know it's not specifically new anymore, but I'm really enjoying Passion Pit's Gossamer. It's just a really solid second album.

I'm also looking forward to mumford and sons on tuesday as well as Muse coming later this year

I love Gossamer

I love Mumford & Sons

But fuck Muse. Just fuck them.

not as much of a fucking masterpiece as their first album, but still a really nice album

I wouldn't say it isn't as good as the first one...

more like it is different

Coexist is more melancholic, and slower, somehow even dreamier... it is like a different concept than the first one, they do step away a little from their 'traditional' sound to create another kind of musical landscapes. But I believe this is a good thing since many bands tend to get stuck with the same sound, and I'm glad these guys are trying different approaches to their own unique style.

hey so mother mother released "the sticks" recently.

it's all still their usual misanthropist, psuedo-emo stuff.

idk i've been really obsessed with them recently and i really fucking love this album.
e: listen to this

the new Propagandhi album Failed States is a great addition to their discography, check it out! Here's one of my favorite tracks from the album:

New Muse is better than I expected after hearing the previews, but still pretty poor compared to their older stuff. There are a couple of tracks that are like Origin of Symmetry (i.e. Muse at their prime) but the rest of it is very non Muse-esque. A lot of it is a lot like Queen and U2 or something, and theres a weird tubular bells track too. Panic Station also sounds a lot like Stevie Wonder's Superstitious haha.

Its a strange album in that every song is completely different and they are almost trying to appeal to too many people at once. I'll stick with Origin of Symmetry and Black Holes And Revelations, thanks.
