Cech has a dislocated shoulder. Terrible news.
No news on Terry

Tight match where Atletico had half chances and chelsea with a couple.
Job done.

Fascinating match between two organised teams. the 2nd leg should also be close.

A 0-0 isn't the worst result but we'll have to go all out in the second leg. Torres was actually quite good in the second half unlike his performance in the first half wherein he ran around fouling players, it's a wonder that he didn't get a yellow. Speaking of which, yay mikel's banned!

Still hoping to see Ba start vs Liverpool though, surely Mourinho won't set the team up in the same way as tonight because they would happily take a draw.

Edit: What happened to Cech was horrible although Schwarzer seems to be shaking off some of that rustyness.

Not doubting you actually liked the match but calling it 'fascinating' is the biggest hyperbole I have heard in a while.

Kudos to the referee for letting the teams 'play' this fantastic match. A++

Still wondering how Chelsea ended the game with all their players, that's what I'd call fascinating.

what even happened to Terry. Luiz barely seemed to touch him. Shwarzer will be happy to get some more game time it seems. Cech was unlucky but credit for great save, lampard should have been sent off

It looked like he twisted his ankle or something of the like, it wasn't anyone's fault, just bad luck...

Something related to Terry's ankle. No news on how serious it is. No One's fault, Costa stepped on terry's foot and then Luiz probably caught his ankle.
Cech was injured because Luiz pushed Garcia into cech and he dislocated his shoulder.

Phadunk I don't get it. Mourinho was cautious in his selection but it was executed perfectly. The team selection for the second leg will be more offensive(What ever that means lol!) with Ivanovic(if terry is out) partnering Cahill at the back with Luiz and ramires at the base of the midfield trio(Oscar should be starting).

Luiz is like ronaldo at taking free kicks. They are amazing if they go in but they will take at least 20 to get a couple on target.
Near perfect result but not getting that away goal might come back to bite.

Looking forward to the second leg.

Edit:At the end of every season the only that matter is the result. Complaining about the performance of the team means jack shit when competing for trophies. The team that defends the best on the given day will win the Champions League.

No I have not put a bet on lol! First rule of betting is to only bet on 100% certainties. Then you always make money! Although Van Gaal looks very likely at this stage. There's nobody else available and they've been holding discussions for a while now if rumours are to be believed.

Also you can buy and play the two managers of Swansea and Utd on FPL lol! Wonder how many bonus points Monk and Giggs get for being manager!

Roy Keane 200/1. Will actually be so mad if he goes there (not gonna happen but still) Alex Ferguson 33/1 probably (and hopefully) wont come back. Van Gaal 1/1 favourite by a long shot Brendan Rodgers 100/1, should be less likely than Roy! (if he actually goes to utd I will cry so hard. Round up of all the interesting odds I looked at. Don't really care anymore, van gaal is near certain

On another note, if Suarez had taken penalties he would be on something like 42 goals... If I was him I'd be fuming! Gerrard better hand them over next season!

It's funny though, all these so called football experts just spout what people want to hear. Suarez having penalties or not has no bearing on how good of a footballer he is yet if he had been on penalties and score nearly 50 goals this season, they'd all be jumping on the bandwagon of how he might be the best in the world right now. But no he's only scored 30 so he's not yet as good as Ronaldo or Messi. What do these pea-brained experts get paid for? Do any of them actually have any worthwhile opinions!? Without penalties, those two would be on half the number of goals Suarez is on.

And Gerrard has not been one of the best players in the PL this season, he's been a decent distributor and slotted away a lot of penalties but pundits rave about him and he gets a nomination for player of the year. Would he have got it if he didn't have penalties and his stats showed 2 goals instead of like 12? Penalties have no bearing on how good a player is yet pundits jump on the goals scored bandwagon, it's so frustrating!

it is like the stupid Marshall junk. he has made the most saves... so what, on another forum someone worked out that his save ratio puts him at 14th best keeper.

now that I think about it, it might not be as bad as I thought. but our defense without Terry is worrying.
also, am I missing something? DestinyGallade why would you be mad if Roy Keane went to United?
cos my family know him well, so him going to utd would make me feel betrayed almost (lol) not gonna happen anyways, he's very popular as Irish assistant manager and why in the name of god would he go back to a club he had a huge row with (he had a row with the Irish team as a player aswell but still) NLI you gotta admit he's s some penalty taker though! Gerrard, I mean

Barca will be able to carry out their transfer plans this summer.
Is anyone actually surprised at all. They will have to pay extra to get their players but they should be fine.

halilovic and Ter Stegen will be at the club before the world cup.
They have been linked with Luiz for sometime but it makes no sense to have him and Pique. Inigo Martinez would be a better purchase or promote at least one of their promising CBs from their academy.
Sergio Roberto needs more game time. Cesc looks lost and really hasn't been anywhere close to Xavi or Iniesta as they were probably were hoping for.
