You could really see that Spurs were dejected towards the end, but some of their play was incredibly woeful. Sandro's poor attempt to play the ball out with the backheel was just shoddy defending. Walker's header right back at Lloris from 30 yards out was absolutely hilarious - like who in their right mind would send it back 30 yards out?

You can't really fault Vertonghen for the goal though. He couldn't do much to mask the slip but try to recycle it back to his keeper. It's just those moments where one doesn't have a clue of his surroundings. On top of that, Kaboul failed to track back Eto. Still, sloppy defending from Tottenham resulted in ruthless punishment from Chelsea.

fuckin lol at tottenham

how many times are they going to get humiliated in big matches. Thank god they are not in the champions league and won't be in the distant future

Edit: lol just watched the kaboul red card. not even a foul

It was a foul. I think we can agree that the punishment for this particular offense is harsh with the current rule with the penalty, red and then most likely a goal down.
Sandro and loris were lucky to still be on the field, Sandro in particular.

I hope Chelsea play Ba regularly cos he is a freaking good striker. Also it was good to see Man Utd play Jones and Smalling and what looks like their best front 4 together. Despite my protestations at Smalling being in the England squad, I actually have pretty high hopes for him because he looked very good when he was playing regularly 3 odd years ago. And Jones too. Why they failed to get games for the last couple of years I don't know but I think they could be top quality and potentially England's future pairing for years to come. But still no one deserves to start for their country if they aren't starting club games, so I hope they start for Man U now that Vidic is going and Rio is clearly past it.

Also Messi -> City rumours picking up pace on the internet. My guess for Arsenal this summer is Wenger will get Joel Campbell back and he'll sign a RB and maybe a young CB while all the other teams strengthen massively and everyone will predict mid-table for Arsenal again.

Also Let It Go - it was a good film but that's a bit too much lol!

I'm really happy my team are going to the semis in the FA cup. We really put in a good performance against Everton today.

The media always seems to have it out for Arsenal which I find rather sad. I feel that the Ozil signing was a sign if change from the Arsenal board. We have the financial capability to sign world class players now and we're on the up, despite our current bad form. We're plagued with a bunch of injuries, but hopefully we can mount a solid finish in the remaining games.

Our title hopes are very slim as I feel City and Chelsea will just muscle past us. If we can pull the end of last season form again, then very possibly, but I'm not counting on anything.

Arsenal have to make sure they get past Liverpool for third first and I don't think they will. Its still Chelsea's to lose no matter whether Mourinho wants to pretend it isn't to the media, fans and everyone else.

just seen tim sherwood's interview and now i've got some big respect for the guy. he showed passion and he was saying what all fans are thinking. i wish brian mcdermott would've said similar after we got dicked by bolton, fans want to see some passion in their club.

Everyone wants Wigen to win, at my school anyway. Everyone was so happy when they beat Man City. :)

Also, lmfao at tottenham. The pass back by Walker was particularly funny. Poor spurs.

Atm Arsenal doesn't look like scoring at all.
I still have no idea why Wenger keeps playing Ozil out wide. In a 4-2-3-1 the wide men have to track back and help out his full-backs. Ozil will try but isn't good at that side of the ball.

If the final ball was better from Bayern then this tie would be over already.

The away fans who were booing Robben were pathetic. Going down easily is something Arteta has mastered this season.
Arsenal was fortunate that they even got a goal after Lucas fouled Lahm and then scored.

Ps- from a good source "Özil just went with Bayern and Germany' s doctor Müller Wohlfahrt. Didnt look good...."

On the Milan game;
Kaka had a chance to make it 2 but missed a very good chance. Then Atletico took over and showed how good they are.

The better team went through in both ties today.

Seems like Guardiola has not only taught his Bayern players how to pass like his Barcelona side but also how to dive all over the place.

How to keep the ball by Pep Guardiola:

-Keep passing the ball for the sake of passing it.
-If the ball is taken from you, go down, pretend to be injured and try to get the opponent sent off.

No wonder americans hate the sport.

Lol the ignorance of this post is too much.

nice fanboy avatar
I am a fan of Thomas muller...sue me.

Anyways, The fact of the matter is that this is professional football in which their job is to win where most players will do whatever it takes to give their team the best chance of winning.
For example;
If the game was 3-1 to arsenal and the same situation appears where robben goes down from very little contact from koscielny then robben does the "fair" and says to the ref that there wasn't much contact and it wasn't a pk. The media and neutral fans will sing praises towards robben for being honest and truthful but I can guarantee you that the bayern players in the dressing room would crucify him.

Diving or making the most out of a challenge happens everywhere in every league, even the precious Epl.

What you said doesn't really justify why we should watch players going down at every given opportunity and pretending like they are seriously injured. Javi Martinez got a light slap in the face from Podolski in the first half, the fucker went down like he took a bullet to the head and rolled on the floor for at least a minute. Because of Bayern's dirty tricks, the match was absolutely terrible overall.

The NBA established rules that fine players when they 'flop' (essentially what Bayern players were doing today). Right now in the NBA (professional basketball), flopping is practically non-existent and players will do their best to win without boring us to death by diving, pretending to be injured and getting treatment for imaginary injuries.

inb4 idiotic arguments about me supporting Liverpool with Suarez in the team. Suarez helps us win matches by diving, exaggerating contact and pretending to be injured and I still want this side of football to be abolished.

Caught glimpses of the game at the pub, ah well it just hasn't happened yet again. What if Ozil blasts that penalty in, what if Szczezny leaves Robben and the ball trickles out of play... There's nothing left than to hope the rest of the games are good games for the neutral.

Arsenal goal was a blatent foul anyway.

been away for a few days, guess which nutter decided to put £1 on Wigan at 18/1 a few days before they beat city :D
wish i put a tenner now :(

Wigan V Hull Final it will be.

if i was an arsenal fan i'd be bitterly disappointed, in the last 20 minutes arsenal didn't want to know. if you need two goals to win in the champions league you put your body on the line and chase everything and burst forward, to me it looked like they couldn't be arsed. only the ox and fabianski showed any real commitment to me. i think the arsenal players thought it was over even before their flight landed and you could tell in how they played

I agree. We played quite lethargic as of late thus the result wasn't a surprise. Anyways on the bright side, since we're out of the CL, we can focus on the PL and FA Cup. By the way, do people not rate Arsenal to win the FA Cup? We're practically the only remaining PL team in the competition so I fancy our chances.

On the issue of diving: It's terrible that it's been engraved in the footballing culture. I mean, if you get tapped on the face, then you shouldn't fall down like you've been shot. It falls into the category of the "dark arts" of football such as time stalling.

Let It Go

My post was a joke. This is the best chance for a trophy since fucking Birmingham trolled us in the finals. And that was when we had one hell of a lineup..let's not bring that up too much.

Arsenals league schedule is soooooooooofucking bad. But that's what we get for having such an easy schedule for the first 10-15 games.

It's as tho the schedule creators do this shit on purpose just to add arsenal hate fuel to the fire.
