Obviously I'm stanning for Biden. I think he would be a good president. His policies are overall on the left. He wants to expand the ACA, pass bankruptcy protection, expand pre-k & child care, pass the Equality Act, and other quality left-wing legislation. Most importantly, he will work with the experts on coronavirus and help stop the spread of this deadly disease that a lot of my extended family members have got infected with. I'm joining the 60 million+ Americans that will also be voting for Biden this November. I'm proud to vote for him, especially against the dangerous person we have in office now. I just find it bizarre how strangely radically left this thread is in comparison to the rest of America. The anti-Biden left is such a hugely & disproportionately online phenomena. They hold 0 power or influence in real life, and will continue to do so unless they exercise their right to vote (don't have to vote for Biden... just have to vote for at least SOMEONE on the ballot).
thank u for once again responding to absolutely none of the points brought up in the post minus my one little quip at the end about biden. very cool and awesome.

You almost get it, i'm going to help you take it a step further though: The anti-biden left is nonexistent. They don't exist outside of the online world at all and even then they are a fringe minority.

So, why are all these liberals so uppity about precious votes being taken away by leftist SJ Dubbya cranks if there's like 3 of them? It's because you spend all your fucking time on the internet too and all of your algorithms have been finely tuned to serve you the hottest NYT WAPO CNN content about how 'the left is taking over'. No, the left is not even close to taking over, but you know who that narrative helps? Capitalists. You know who owns news media? Capitalists. You know who really wants you to get angry at these leftist phantoms so you will vote for their status quo candidate? Capitalists. You are not immune to propaganda, all of your viewpoints have been manufactured by some company.

Listen, Trump is not winning. You don't have to worry about the left. They won't hurt you I promise. For now though, they will keep protesting and achieving more meaningful change in 1 month than voting has in 4 years.

That doesn't dictate that the US Democrstic party as a whole has, as of recently, taken a hard left-turn on a vast swab of issues. Bernie Sanders has been the captain of that ship more or less, particularly with the now widely accepted idea of Medicare for All. The fact that progressivism has grown to be the norm in the party is telling enough. Don't lie about it though and paint it as Bernie is center-left, so the Democratic party as a whole prior to Bernie's insurgence was to the right. Bernie is unforgivingly a Socialist (in some cases even Communist lmao) as it is. I'm not saying that you don't have the right to support that (that's on you), but to insinuate that Bernie is anywhere close to centrist is absolutely blatant fallacy, and it has nothing to do with comparing it to the rest of the world stage.

P.S. or, alternatively, it's not comparing the US to the world, rather it's not willing to leave an echo chamber, in that anyone to the right of Nancy Pelosi is now a right extremist. The worldview is a bit skewed when the deciding factor of what is right or left is in your own bubble. Food for thought.
Just here to call out the communist fallacy, unless you can back it up with some examples. Wanting people to be able to go to the hospital without a six figure debt is still a very far way from communism.

Edit: Okay, missed the timing of this post - seems it was from the last page, my bad.

As for the anti-Biden stuff online, does anyone else have the feeling this is again part of some Trump campaign similar to last election's? I am definitely not defending Biden on some problematic stuff, but still.

What even is any of this BS? Do you want a medal for typing all of this up? How is any of this relevant to the problems we're facing now?

Look. Compare Michigan & New York - two states controlled by democratic governors - and Arizona & Florida - two states controlled by republican governors. Michigan & New York coronavirus cases, while initially very bad, are now done to less than 1,000 per day. Arizona, Texas, Florida, etc. are spiking massively. Republicans are actively screwing up the coronavirus response, and this is destroying our economy, our health, and my life.

Your political theories are cute. They really are precious. I want America to recover from coronavirus, and to do that, we need significantly better leaders in power. And the only way we will get leaders that care about dealing with the epidemic is by voting for Biden and other democrats (Mike DeWine, Larry Hogan, and a couple of other republicans are taking this pandemic seriously... the vast majority are not). Biden is a leader that has been around for decades, and I trust him to bring America back to what it was as he did w/ Obama from 2008 to 2016.
Im suprised at how alive this thread is since I was last here. In the second paragraph you have a point in saying republicans are screwing up the response(they sure are). Although where you go wrong is when you try and point out that democratic states have a less number of people with the virus, you would be right in that however if we take the whole world into consideration, we see that more liberal countries have way less numbers than New York(some even have stopped their outbreaks).

Now this is a democratic primary forum, we should be arguing if moderate or liberal is better(even though biden is the only democratic canidate left). We shouldn't be saying which side is better(Red or Blue) in place of arguing about the best type of democrat we could have(again, I know Biden is the only democratic canidate left this election). There is not one type of Democrat, and different Democrats could fix this pandemic more than others. The way you mention it all types of democrats function the same in how they would deal with the pandemic. If I recall properly Washington, a state with more liberal laws than most has toned down their numbers more than other democratic states(I could be wrong though) Your outlook has some truths but you need to think way bigger, like think of the progress of the whole world and if more liberal countries toned down their numbers than moderate ones.(I mean the U.S is a moderate country and there are plenty of liberal countries out there with less numbers than us.)

Looking at your other posts you seem to not think about future democratic primaries and which way Biden should try leaning as that could influence an even better democrat in the primary afterward (unlike you some people are not so enthusiastic about biden as they vote for him with resigned looks on their faces and wonder with fear which way he will lean in these dark times) I could name plenty of people who would at least want a more liberal biden than a moderate biden, even if he only makes one more liberal policy that he might not have made previously, that would be enough, maybe.

The fact that the United States has turned Covid and any response to it into a political issue is problematic and the main reason why the outbreak is peaking. I can not for the life of me understand how this is a left vs right issue, when it is simply a saving human lives issue.
I think there’s certainly an element of nihilism behind some of it. The attitude where I live (rural/suburban Iowa) from the elderly is that they’re probably going to die regardless so if they do, they might as well not be dealing with pesky things like masks and social distancing.

There’s a lot of frustration amongst boomers at our (millennials, etc) generation for what they perceive to be constant and annoying moral grandstanding. I guess this is the hill they choose to die on.

the conduct of american media and opposing politicians between say the new hampshire primary and super tuesday will be forgotten, of course, but it really deserves lapidary study if not (joke, sorta) human rights committees and u.n invasion.

Biden is still shit, but this is legit:

And I think believing Biden would do this is a reasonable expectation-- it's not beyond what's feasible.
