Ubers 2020 Ubers Championship - Finals (Won by Pohjis)

I want to apologize in advance for getting too emotional by going through the history lane and shout-outs but winning the Ubers Circuit was one my most wanted goals I wanted to achieve. After a good night of sleep I am more than happy to finally cross this one of my bucket list.
I shall post some of my teams I think are worth sharing in the Ubers Bazaar thread whether Zacian-Crown is staying in the tier or not. It will be very likely that Zacian-Crown is going to get the axe but I am not completely sure if the team structures will drastically change. However, it leaving will open up so many other 'mons to do other things rather than solely checking it via Rocky Helmet, recoil and hazard damage. The tier has plenty of room to improve and it will improve even further in the future with the sequal to Sword and Shield.
Before I am done for now, I want to give a message to the people in the Ubers community. Back in 2015 the biggest issues were wanting to ban Primal-Groudon and Mega-Salamence from the tier and being upset when a tournament player outside the community like Omfuga had success in the tier. These are called first world problems. By any means it is not perfect but the difference is night and day how welcoming and pleasent the Discord server, the Ubers room and overall community is these days. As someone who has been there during the darkest time in the tier's history I can say that future looks quite bright.
Very rarely any second chance is given but when Ubers gets added back to official tournaments, use that opportunity wise and well. I will be a proud man seeing the current playerbase duking it out in the new official team tournament.
At the time when I started playing in 2015 ORAS was the current generation. I wasn't by any means a great ORAS Ubers player but I was decent enough at it to have a couple good tournament performances in fall and winter seasonals that led me entering the very first Ubers Circuit playoffs in 2016. I reached semifinal's in which Astounded was just better than me. He ended up winning the whole thing.
A year later I wasn't even close to making playoffs due to the combination of my dislike of post-Marshadow released SM Ubers, the cheating scandals in the tier and overall toxicity among the Ubers community. I just had no interest keeping up with the tier and I distanced myself from the tier and the community when the release of Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon was launched. In all honesty, I wouldn't have made a serious return into the tier after I found more enjoy and success playing other lower tiers and in general all generations of OU.
I had little to no interest to play the tier at the time let alone manage in the upcoming Ubers Premier League. As a man of my word I promised to Enzo Gorlami that I would manage as long as he was interested playing and making his debut in the tournament. I would get him at all cost just like he was able to get me a year prior. He took the offer and the rest is history. I gave the tier another chance and I had most memorable and enjoyable Ubers tournament run in the Ubers Open VII in 2018.

obviously my first shout-out is to my long time friend from the 2015 oras laddering days and my biggest supporter. you should have been the one to give me a shout-out nearly 4 years ago but alas...from carrying my ass in oras to creating one of the greatest franchises in team tours history is for sure the greatest achievement we have accomplished with the tier. you deserve most credit of course with durians since we wouldn't have had such a dominant team and our little group that still is active to this day despite crashing and burning last year. my oras goat and you are pretty fucking good in usm as well. an entire book could be written about our +5 year journey but i shall end it here before losing track...it wouldn't have been the same with you. 
good lord that name change to this day but as i said, defiant durians is the proudest thing gunner and i have had done with the tier during our time. i don't feel like tagging all the players but apparently i can't even find zf's alt but getting him at all cost in our first year was all worth it. one of my best buddies and always helped me improve in anything i asked. david is an absolute beast and i am happy that you picked byronthewellwell this year in SPL for the sharks. you have been part of our gang from the beginning and 2018 onwards you have been killing it byron. keep going my man!
i can't forget our jerk slots with belvin who were STOLEN from us few times how can other teams dare us... benbe as well but we got him home after a few years. Reje has been there as well like Alpha Rabbit despite switching teams...at least Cam has stayed with us like Catalystic and Krauersaut. even obii and TDK i don't want to tag them since i am scared...jokes aside, the atmosphere wouldn't have been the same without all of you despite playing more or less. thus you deserve a highlight right here.
before moving onwards from the durians PurpleGatorade has been one of our finest and greatest players we ever had. one of the faces of the current playerbase. same goes with Skysolo who i hope will take another shot managing the team next year. you deserve a tad better end result than entire flop. Exiline of course is the controversial figure among all of us but one of my greatest competitors and friends. don't get yourself too much into trouble...slurmz i know is doing well but i hope things will turn for the better for you cynara.
TonyFlygon: hey i hope to give you a couple more of these in the future. but thanks for some of the teams i used during the playoffs. always a pleasure maneuvering a tony team. and also thanks for finding new (or in your case, old!) interest with ubers so i don't feel bad anymore for not listening to you and hogg year ago about that tier leader status. the tier is in better hands and i couldn't thank you more for it.
Hack: of coure i have to remember my (and gunner's) mentor and our dad figure. if there is one person to describe as the face of the tier, i would 100% pick hack. i wouldn't have the knowledge and the consistency i have without all the help over the years if it wasn't for this absolute legend. obviously we all get older and eventually move on from the game. the former tier leader and his achievements in all the old gens he touched makes him my goat. hopefully everything is fine and dandy for you and your partner in crime kebabe.
Level 56: if hack is my inspiration in ubers, you were and still are in consistency and knowledge across whatever possible tier there is to play on this site. even though you preferred other metas to old gen ou, you were killing it in all the tournaments you were playing at the time and i wanted to follow your steps in that regard. we lost the kindest soul but you if anyone deserves their retirement it is you.
Astounded: in all honesty you didn't need to let me play a couple games in SPL but our team was out and you were extremely nice for letting me get my debut at the big stage. an absolute legend and altough gunner is my goat in oras, you are the undisputed goat in the tier. your achievements with oras and in the very last SPL will never be forgotten.
Garay oak: i definitely did not want to tag the person who lost the final and rub salt in the wounds. we already talked a while after the series and we have been buddy-buddies for several years now. we like to joke here and there but your consistency and skill is something i always try to keep up no matter the tier is. fantastic player overall and an absolute unit. i always look forward to your games except when we test teams together whether it is oras ou, adv ou or ss ubers in earlier rounds.
SparksBlade of course is part of the durians gang and i want to thank you for sticking with us since the beginning, helping me everytime i have needed it (whether it is with teams or anything really!) and taking care of the overall community. with less extent with dream and recently Staxi but you also deserve a shout-out for all the efforts you have put with hosting etc. the tournament circuit wouldn't be running this smoothly for so long without all of you and all the hosts so thank you!
the list could go on with my good and old friend mysterious M, the iron man of ubers, squinn who still plays pokemon? keep killing it lol. omfuga wow i can't believe you actually made a return...i can't wait to see you in SPL! or some oldies like shrang, iris, minority, aberforth...or newer people recently in the room. my apologies if and when i forgot someone!
but i want to give my last shout-out to Nayrz for leading the tier during its darkest time. you took the shit you got admirably and even to this day i feel guilty for not taking the position next to you. ubers wouldn't be here it is right now without your leadership and it is coming from someone who was closely following the tier. you have earned your retirement and i wish you the best in your future endeavours. you will not be forgotten.
oh yeah i nearly forgot... Karppi. my other long lasting buddy from the oras laddering days in 2015. you for sure haven't played seriously in ages and i am not expecting that to happen anytime soon. it is always important to have someone alongside you reminding the pessimistic and realistic way of the finns. years have passed and sometimes we have to remind each other of our exsistence. couldn't be more glad to have you when we are alive to discuss about gigantic failures or history lessons you provide from the days i didn't even play or anything. KIITOS! C:

Undisputed GOAT and a true inspiration bro, thanks for being an amazing presence. I really enjoyed watching your and Garay’s series, and hope to play you soon when I’m more experienced in SS! Cheers brother
