General tournament rules you should read.

Welcome one and all to the first (hopefully!) annual Barebones Pokémon Tournament. I am sure many of you have played in tournaments all across Smogon. This is no ordinary Pokémon tournament, however. There are special rules in place that each and every one of you must abide by in order to advance to the next round. These rules are meant to make the feat of winning a battle more challenging and hopefully, more fun! The afformentioned rules are:

  • No items may be used on any Pokémon.
  • No EVs may be given to any Pokémon.
  • Each Pokémon must have a NEUTRAL nature. This means your Pokémon may only run Serious, Docile, Bashful, Quirky or Hardy natures.
Other than that, ANYTHING goes, barring the clauses below are followed. Good luck to all of you and lets see who can be the strongest trainer!

  • Species Clause: A player cannot have two of the same pokémon on their team. For example, a player cannot have two Koffing on his or her team.
  • Sleep Clause: A player cannot put two or more different opposing Pokémon to sleep using attacks that induce sleep to opposing pokémon.
  • Evasion Clause: A player cannot increase their Pokémon's evasion stat with a move that specifically increases evasion. Items or indirect boosts do not break this clause.
  • OHKO Clause: Players cannot use Horn Drill, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, or Fissure in any of their Pokémon's movesets.
  • Battle Timeout: If a player exhausts the timer, he/she loses.
  • Uber Clause: Pokemon / abilities / etc that are in the Ubers Tier (or unreleased) are not allowed to be used. List can be found here.
  • This tournament will be Gen 5 Standard OU and your team should be legal in the BW OU tier on Smogon's PO server

Do we have to send you a vidoe of the winner? If someone uses an unreleased Dream world/cherish ball it won't go through... /You said anything goes besides the clauses.
 
Sent a pm to my opponent. Is this the standard OU list, or are all dreamworld abilities allowed?

@RioT X videos aren't needed but it never hurts to save the log in case of a dispute (or rulebreakings)
 
Bit confused here; can we use ONLY Fifth Gen Pokes, or is it just Standard Gen 5 OU? Or is it with all DW allowed? And that Ubers list is old, what about Blaziken/Aldarons Proposal/etc?

It's for sure only 5th gen pokemon, and he said anything goes, so I would say use dream world, but don't use uber pokemon.
 
Blazin Kickin Chicken won against me, and it was all a matter down to base speed.

I haven't logged onto PO in forever, but at the time I made this tournament post (copy/pasted from a PM), there was a Dreamworld and a Wi-Fi ladder, just basically what I'm trying to say, is don't use unreleased shit, if there is still unreleased shit (i.e. Dreamworld stuff).

Standard Gen 5 OU, whatever the banlist is. Again, I copy/pasted this from a PM that was sent quite some time ago.
