After months of competition, we have finally arrived at the Playoffs of the second edition of the Smogon Grand Slam! Before announcing the pairings that you are all predicting anyway, I would like to thank many people who helped me with the tournament up to now. kokoloko, Oglemi, bojangles, Furai, Zebraiken, Raseri and blarajan all spent their time hosting the different opens, so thank you guys! Thank you again Zracknel for your artwork, it is really amazing.

The final standings are available here and will be on site as soon as possible.
As you will notice, there is a four-way tie for the two last seeds, so aerialace TM40, blarajan, Ciele and Malekith will have to fight one more time to get into the finals, in a best-of-five match (UU, RU, Ubers, NU and LC).

The deadline for the Preliminary Playoff is November 23th at 11:59 p.m. GMT +1.

2. Heist vs 7. Malekith
3. Fuzznip vs 6. kokoloko
4. august vs 5. Bad Ass

Semifinals

1. Bloo vs 5. Bad Ass
2. Heist vs 6. kokoloko

Finals

5. Bad Ass vs. 6. kokoloko​

Heist and Malekith have until the original deadline of November 30th at 11:59 p.m. GMT +1 to complete their game. The deadline for the semifinals is December 8th @ 11:59 PM EST.

Finalists will play each other in a best-of-five series in the five Grand Slam metagames. Tier lists are now locked for the entirety of the finals. Check out this post for the complete tier lists.

Preliminary Playoffs:

7. Malekith vs aerialace TM40 - AATM40 got through on the basis of just 2 tiers, I think Malekith is all-round the better player here
8. blarajan vs Ciele - this is almost too close to call but as an LCer I'm rooting for Blara


Round 1:

1. Bloo vs 8. blarajan - really close but I just think Bloo is too strong. Though it wouldn't be at all surprising if Blara managed to steal 3 games.
2. Heist vs 7. Malekith - Heist is generally solid in all tiers.
3. Fuzznip vs 6. kokoloko - not really seen either play so I'll just go for the higher seed...
4. august vs 5. Bad Ass - August is stronger in UU, RU, NU and LC imo.

grats to all finalists, I'm pretty sure any of them will be a deserving winner.
