This is painful to read.

  1. Pi is irrational. This has been proven in many different ways by many different people.
  2. While we don't know if the universe is infinite, the OBSERVABLE universe is definitely finite. Since information cannot be infinitely compressed, no computer that exists in the observable universe can hold the exact value of pi in it, under any circumstances.
  3. All simple calculations involving pi are either exact values expressed in terms of pi, or approximations to the true value. For instance, 5π cannot be expressed exactly using only the digits 0-9 and the decimal point.
  4. The reason I began this argument was because of a post stating that since irrational numbers exist, we cannot be in a computer simulation. I argued against the antecedent, that we can know the entirety of an irrational number, not the consequent.
 
Why is this even really important or relevant? Philosophical questions were developed as target of information to achieve for the benefit of our kind, or at least the respite of the one answering the question. So, asking 'why do we exist?' or 'what is our true purpose?' has legitimate usefulness. Asking 'are we real?' kind of doesn't considering our perception of real dominates 99.99% of everything we see and do. Why ask questions when the answers mean nothing?

'1 + 1 = 2, but what really is 1?' 1 is...1. Why does it have to be something else? If there is an intangible thing that we cannot know and we have to play down to quantify it, anything really wrong with that? As long as we have a way of using these 'things' to make our lives simpler and easier, the true nature doesn't matter. We don't know what 1 is, but we can use it to make everything easier and calculate more important things.

I know I seem a little more dumbed down, but my philosophy is self taught. I never studied any previous philosopher or any psychology. Common sense > advanced philosophy. No point knowing something that means nothing to anyone when more important works has to be done.
