SS Doubles OU 2021 Spring Seasonal :blobastonished:​

SPECIFIC RULES
  • This is a standard SS Doubles OU tournament
  • This tournament will be Double Elimination
  • Rounds will be Best of Three. You may switch teams in between battles of the same set.
  • Matches are to be played on Pokemon Showdown! (Main or SmogTours)
  • To encourage the development of the metagame, and so that everyone is on an even playing field, replays are required for all matches.
  • Activity calls will be made by me, potentially with neutral assistance from a Doubles OU Forum Moderator. Coin flips will be done publicly on PS!
  • In the event that something is added to or removed from the Doubles OU metagame in the middle of a round, that change will be in effect starting the next round.
  • Do not cheat. Cheating will result in a disqualification. Additional punishments may be applied as necessary. Cheating includes, but is not limited to:
    • Signing up with more than one account
    • Ghosting or being ghosted by another player (e.g. while playing a set, asking for advice about what plays to make)
    • Manipulating match outcomes (e.g. throwing a match in exchange for Smogon likes)
  • Do not harass or insult your opponents. I reserve the right to disqualify anyone breaking this rule. Additional punishments may be applied as necessary.
Standard Rules and Clauses
  • Endless Battle Clause: Players cannot use any moveset on any Pokémon capable of intentionally causing an endless battle. Thus:
    • A Pokémon may not carry Recycle and hold a Leppa Berry in conjunction with Heal Pulse and Milk Drink, Moonlight, Morning Sun, Recover, Roost, Slack Off, Soft-Boiled, or Wish.
    • A Pokémon may not hold a Leppa Berry while carrying Recycle and Pain Split.
    • A Pokémon may not hold a Leppa Berry while carrying Recycle and Fling
  • Evasion Clause: Players cannot use the moves Double Team or Minimize.
  • OHKO Clause: Players cannot use the moves Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill, or Sheer Cold.
  • Species Clause: Players cannot have two Pokémon with the same Pokédex number on the same team.
  • Gravity Sleep Clause: Sleep moves with below one hundred percent accuracy may not be used in conjunction with Gravity.
  • Dynamax Clause: You cannot dynamax.

Round 1 Recap

Highlight Matches:
Paraplegic vs. Maki -- GRUDGE. MATCH. Ever since Paraplegic had to cheese Maki to win a game in DWCoP, Maki has been training hard in the mountains with his senpai Z Strats. However, when our favorite foxgirl needed him the most, he vanished, only coming back to the DOU Discord to bark at me at 3 in the morning. Months after Maki's embarrassing defeat at the hands of a literal teacup, he has ascended to the ranks of DOU God, going 1-0 in DPL 7 and has also developed into quite the creative writing machine. If our favorite protagonist can utilize broken ass Necrozma, I think he can take the set.

thnx to SMB and Yoda2798 For the teams and I take this opportunity to thank Yoda2798 n1n1 DaWoblefet qsns The_Bandit and Yellow Paint for helping me in a critical moment of my life. and to all the DOU community for supporting me when I was about to retire from Showdown and Smogon, I thank you very much. I hope we will continue playing DOU until a good time.
 
CaesarzeppeliXD vs. Trelloant -- CaesarzeppeliXD and Trelloant played one game before the former disconnected due to internet issues, so the latter called activity at Friday 3:45 PM GMT-4. CaesarzeppeliXD responded to Trelloant's activity call four minutes later (3:49 PM GMT-4) once they were able to reconnect and then reached out to reschedule the same day, with Trelloant proposing to play "30 minutes from now" at 9:17 PM GMT-4. CaesarzeppeliXD confirmed this worked for them at 9:28 PM GMT-4 and VM'd Trelloant saying they were online at 9:51 PM GMT-4. Trelloant did not show up, and hasn't responded to CaesarzeppeliXD's additional attempt to reschedule, as well as not being online since Friday.
