Round is over. Expect next round up soon!

Please save and send logs to me so I can make sure that Pokemon that haven't been purchased weren't used. Thanks!

PM me if you have any questions (or you can post here but the thread is already quite clogged).

I'm assuming that point totals will be hidden from this point forward. I don't want people guessing as to what I've bought by how many points I have remaining... sure, there are plenty of combinations of pokemon that can add up to however much I spend, but I would just as soon prefer that it wasn't even an option to try.

Also, if they aren't hidden from this point forward... When will they be updated with purchases? If I see that Tsurukawa still has 351 points after the purchasing period, I know that he hasn't gotten a Garchomp, even for so much as one round, however if I'm paired up with Tsurukawa second round... and point totals are posted after the purchasing, but before the betting... and I see he has less than 350... I may be inclined to include a ... I don't know... a Cloyster in my team now, because the threat that he has now purchased a Garchomp is there.

Regardless of WHO I'm battling, the information of how many points my opponent has before and after the purchasing period is incredibly valuable information, as it tells me with CERTAINTY what my opponent can't POSSIBLY have bought and helps me with the team building process, etc.. etc.. etc...

I'm just saying that this is something that needs to be addressed, because I will be using this information, and I'm sure that the better battlers will be too... And I don't know if you want us to be able to determine what threats we need to look out for based on before and after point totals.

Although I agree that if the points are shown to all competitors it will give a decent advantage, there is no way to get around this unless each person is Pmed their point total... which is unfortunate.

Anyone who wants to play test possible teams can battle me on Shoddy if they want.

Also, never predicting on other people again X_X

The point totals will not be revealed again until next round and at that stage they will have undergone two changes: those from their purchases and those from their winnings from bets.

However, I can see where you are going here and I (or Stall) may not even show them publicly at the beginning of next round. The fact that you don't know who your opponent is before you make your new purchases does help to rectify this problem slightly, and it is not as though the available UU counters to the major OU threats are particularly well suited. The preparation required is pretty much the same either way, just that you know your opponent may have something big if they have say 700 this round and 400 the next. This could happen if somebody bought a 3 round Garchomp and bet the 200 points they had remaining on themself, or they could have bet 70 on themself and spent 370 on various Pokemon.

I will discuss the matter with Stall, but rest assured the totals will not be revealed again until at least the next round.

Points will be shown at the beginning of every Round.
Bets will not be shown publicly, if PM'd to myself or Earthworm.

Alright I will buy stuff in a little bit when others make their buys. I agree with LonelyNess that I don't feel confortable making these purchases because once we get to round 3, they will see how many points I had left and determine who I bought. They could then counter it (say I buy a yanmega. They could determine it off how many points I have left and but a Togekiss which not only helps them thanks to its strong special attack and HP but also totally counters my Yanmega D=).

Sorry but Im not picking this up anywhere but I assume we will PM you guys what I want to buy so others can't view it publicly?

Yes, I wrote that in bold at the end of the post.

Also, it should be difficult to work out exactly what somebody bought due to the large number of combinations of Pokemon that could be purchased, and also due to the change in totals due to bets.

alright thanks I guess that makes sense

Also didn't see the bottom of your post for some reason, I guess I was looking at the pokemon too much and ignored the bold writing until the pairings were made or something. I dont know how I missed it but thanks for clearing that up.

Beat Warthog 1-0 in a great game. During the moment it seemed like a Warstoryable match, it was really close with only a little bit of hax on each side. GG Warthog.

Blue Cookies beat me 1-0 in one of the better matches I've had in a long time. I actually had a chance to use my brain for once while playing Pokemon! I freaking loved it.

gg BC.

whoa whoa whoa 5 people bet on warthog (not including himself) and i was the one to bet on bluecookies (not including himself), does this mean i just made 250 points? (and my own 50 back)

No you would just win 50 and they would all lose 10 ... right? Because if they won you would have lost 50 and they all would have won 10. I see no reason that it should be chnaged if it was reversed.

Nice bet MoP, lol. And yeah, you are correct in your thinking.

what? He doesnt get 250 points on that bet. I thought the most you could win was 50 points on others =/

No, I think that you're confusing it with the bet against the house that you make on your own matches. When you bet on others' matches, the winners split all of the points bet. Since MoP was the only one to bet on me, he doesn't have to split the winnings with anyone. In maniaclyracists' match's case, the winners barely made anything because only one/two? people bet against maniac, and so many people bet in favor of him, meaning a lot of people had to split the small ammount of winnings. This is how I interpret the rules and am pretty sure this is how it works, seeing as my point total was ? + 200. Meaning that the ? depended on the outcome of My match, where the 200 came from Puggy's match, which would further prove how the betting works.

I pm'ed Stall with this question a while ago, but with the way this seems to be taking place, I'm unsure of the answer now(he said we have to make the bet before we purchase Pokemon). Do we bet the mandatory 10% against the house Before we purchase Pokemon, or after?

That could make a big difference, because say I end up with 21 points at the end of this round. I'm really interested in buying a regice. If we have to bet before hand, I lose my chance to buy Regice, because I end up with only 19 points. If I bet after, I am able to buy my regice.(This was all just an example)
