It's not ridiculous at all, this is how betting works. MoP made a smart bet, and it payed off big. Why would you only be able to make a maximum of 50 points on a match, especially considering you can bet more than that?
 
Betting against the majority and being correct is obviously worth a lot.

Basically all bets go into the pot for that match and that pot is divided between those who selected correctly, and for the matches where there was nobody that betted on one player the house donates 50 points.

Yes, you can purchase more than one Pokemon at a time.

There are about 5 hours left until I will decide some matches by coin flips (I think there are a couple where I will just give a player the win based on what they have told me).

P.S. FiveKRunner if you read this I suggest you tell me how much effort you have gone to while arranging a time with Shiny Crobat. (hint) Same with Blistex but with Sonuis.
 
um KinglerDude24, if you read the other thread i'd made a big post about how people should try to bet on not the obvious favorites but on close matches instead. If you read that you would understand what happened!

I kept the 50 from your bet in the first number so the + ? will become 0 due to the forfeit, if it was incorrect it would convert to -50. With hindsight I probably should have done it the other way, but it doesn't really make much difference besides some misunderstandings I guess.

Also thanks for highlighting that post, I didn't notice it for some reason.

Shiv just saw your post so now I get it. Anyway Im going to buy my pokemon soon hopefully. I jsut need to decide who to buy.
 
I might give another day or two if everybody wants time to think about their purchases longer. If about 70% of participants buy during the 24 hour period then I will start the betting part though.
 
Boo... I disapprove of MoP having more points than I do...

Also, on a completely unrelated topic... are we allowed to "sell" our pokemon back to you Earthworm? If I decide that my purchases were bad ones, and I want atleast some kind of refund, is that allowed? Just making sure...
 
Just as a note to all of you, I'm really sorry I haven't been here much. My last exam of high school was today, though, so I should be much more available from here on out. A big thanks to Earthworm for keeping this alive!


Ness - If you mean that you bought Garchomp, used him this round, then realized you didn't want him, I think that's too bad. The option is there to buy him for a single round, if you really don't know how well it will work out.
 
Made my purchases earlier today. I was able to make a team that I used to get top ranked on ladder so it was pretty cool >=) watch out.

At least it doesn't have Chomp on it, lol(If it does, only for 1 round). And for that matter, how many matches was each purchase for? That is equally if not more important than having an excellent team. Point management is the key to winning along with that shiny Garchomp I just bought.

Anyway, when will pairings be posted EW/Stall?

Actually ryo as stated in the first post, you can buy things for only 1 round or 2 rounds. This mean even people with only 300 or so points could still buy Garchomp.
