Welcome to my art thread. I'll be updating this post with my newest artwork in addition to posting it. I've been an avid artist for years now. I took art classes in high school every year. Last year I decided to dive into the realm of digital art. I gave a tablet a trial run, but I never got comfortable using it. It would activate above the pad and other weird things. There might have been a way to change that, but I have pretty much moved on and got involved in other ways to draw. I started off by drawing with a mouse in Photoshop Elements. I would use the zoom tool to increase my accuracy with the mouse. It didn't give me the refined look I would have liked, but I was able to live with the results. Those pieces were done based heavily on references in order to know where I was going with the drawing. It wasn't great for customizing my own poses.

I have recently started drawing in Microsoft Office Word with the curve tool and other preset tools. I get much cleaner lines than drawing with a mouse. In the past I have played around with the preset tools, but it wasn't until I was brainstorming a way to draw a refined looking CAP that I decided to see how far I could push it. I am still learning its full potential and limitations as I continue to work in it. This does not mean I will no longer be using Photoshop Elements to draw, but you can expect to see a lot more updates going in this section from now on. Not only do I get a more refined look, but I also have an easier time drawing in it. I can sketch something on paper and manipulate the tools to have it appear like it was planned. In the future I will probably be drawing Pokemon in Miscrosoft Office Word and adding backgrounds and details in Photoshop Elements.

Very nice drawings, I like the Darkrai one :), I didn't know you did the smog covers either. just wondering, did you do your signature?

Cartoons! made my signature.

Love the Duskclops drawing and that ladder picture was the picture used in Reverb's ladder article in smog #5 right?
Yeah that was for his article. Skarmory is on the Battle of the Week page and the other two are for upcoming stuff.

Thanks for the posts.

I am plesantly surprised by how well you can draw eyes, especially Skymin's. I hope to see more of your art in the future. =]

I didn't know you were an artist, let alone an avid one. I like your art, and the standouts for me are skymin and skarm, but I don't take any credit away from the rest. I like 'em all. ^_^

pretty intense dude, i really like the colors you used for shaymin and you try out really great dynamic poses! great work man
do you have a scanner? if you feel uncomfortable or awkward with a tablet you could try scanning in your drawings? sometimes it just takes time to get used to digital drawing though, you know? youre off to a great start man

Darkrai's my favourite. x3

Did you blur the background? It looks really good. d:
And great job on the shading. :]
I love the colours you used too.

Great job, your art's awesome. xD

Im normally extremely skeptical of anyone posting new art in this thread, particuarly the established members. At first i thought this thread would be the same but i was pleasantly suprised. The Skymin and the Skarmory imo are by far the best thanks to their unique stances and crisp style. I'd love to see more done in this style. I also appreciate the effort it takes to open yourself up to criticism so well done. I'd love to see more of your work, is there maybe something in the next smog?

Here's an art update. Thanks for all the comments so far. I'll give my scanner a go with some drawings in the near future. That's a frequent suggestion I get since the mouse is a pain. :X

Shii, I used the smudge tool for the background.

iKitsune, I'll have more art in upcoming issues. I had stuff for Issue 7, but the article didn't get finished in time.
