7* Raids & Other Assorted Events: Pikachu Rerun (7/12-25), Dondozo (7/26-8/8), Dragonite (8/23-9/1)

Need to get a Corv built for this. Really not a fan of bosses that boost themselves on normal moves because you either have to play vs a +6 or are required to bring something like Malamar or an Unaware Mon.
I recommend this spread:

:corviknight:
Corviknight @ Shell Bell
Ability: Mirror Armor
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 228 HP / 252 Def / 28 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Taunt
- Reflect
- Iron Defense
- Body Press

Speed is for Brave Dragonite, letting you Taunt before it DDs.

Finally got the time to try the raid, exoecting it to take a while with randoms...but it was done first try. Used Corviknight, teammates were other Corviknight, an Ortworm and a Torterra who was the only one who died despite all of us using the same strategy. Either I got extremely lucky, or it's a very faulty AI-only used Thunder once, the rest of the time it kept setting up and using Extreme Speed.

I've only got to catching Dragonite yesterday, brought my Torkoal into a party of Armarouge, Vaporeon and Samurott-H, ended up winning without much difficulty. Armarouge was a big help, helping me recover from T1 Hurricane and holding the Clear Smog fort while I was trying to burn the Nite. Vappy brought Helping Hand and Charm, and for Samurott, highlight of its performance was the turn all three of its allies used a heal cheer to bring it back from the brink.
Caught in a Level Ball, I can never decide what to catch these orange Pokemon in...

With this raid I took so long because I was hunting Gimmighoul, ended with 544 encounters and no shiny. Got these raids saved on a backup file, so I'll continue after a break. I'm just not sure if I should carry over the encounter count or not, as Shiny Charm haven't been earned there.

This whole summer series ending with the pseudo outbreaks has been awesome. After getting to 50+ HM of each type, I finally decided to part with Dondozo because I wanted to bring the full power of Shiny and Title charms in my main account to bear on these pseudo legendaries. Because of the 5% charisma mark chance I decided to go for a personality or rare mark on each target— here’s where I got:

Larvitar - Charismatic Mark x2
Bagon - Rare Mark
Beldum - Rare Mark
Hisuian Sligoo - Charismatic Mark
Goomy - Angry Mark

The Goomy one was hilarious because it was the very first one, appearing 5 seconds into going for the 60 kills, only to get me to throw 30 Heal Balls at a 1 HP Goomy defiantly breaking the ball and healing off status in overworld rain— forcing me to run, reset for not-raining, and then refight where it still took on another 10 balls while asleep. Then to pull it up for it to be ANGRY— I could tell.

Rare Marks on Bagon and Beldum, you know I was crazy hyped for.

I don't think shiny charm affects raids.

OK, the next 7* raid has been announced for Friday the 6th of September. Ladies, gentlemen and all points in between, the Pokemon all VGC players hate because it’s too good not to use (or at least it used to be): Incineroar!
https://www.serebii.net/scarletviolet/teraraidbattleevents.shtml

It’s tera Dark type. Personally I think this’ll be one of the easier max raids, since Incineroar is on the slow side and doesn’t hit all that hard. I suspect it will go for Bulk Up + Flame Charge and unleash boosted Power Trips.

Likely moves:
Flare Blitz
Knock Off
Will-o-wisp
Swords Dance
Bulk Up
Taunt
Flame Charge
Power Trip
Darkest Lariat
Throat Chop

Good mons to beat it:

Hariyama - Guts protects it from burns, Belly Drum + Drain Punch will take it down quick enough.
Azumarill - Resists both STABs, Belly Drum + Play Rough should smash it. Does need to watch out for burns though.
Iron Hands - see Hariyama, but slightly worse as it’s affected by burns
Sylveon - Calm Mind up, then blast it with Tera Fairy Pixilate Hyper Beam.
Gallade - Taunt, then Swords Dance, then Sacred Sword
Koraidon - resists both STABs can sub and ko with boosted Drain Punch

Support mons:
Malamar if it turns out to be bulky booster
Decorate Smeargle with Topsy Turvy + Thunderous Kick

So I just learned about this, the insanity of getting the Mist Mark. The rarest weather, only accessible high in the sky and outside the boundaries of Kitakami. I realized, this would be the NICEST Mark for our wet friend, the Hissuian Sligoo from the outbreak event.

Took some set up, but got an outbreak right below one of the best Misty Wall-standable spots around the Timeless Woods-- and after some resetting, I got it! Hisuian Sligoo the Mist Drifter.

Funny you mentioned that Chou because I just got a Mist Drifter H-Sligoo as well. Took only like 10+ reset and getting two rare mark shinies to get it, but now I can finally get off the misty snail ride.

I also did a hunt for normal Goomy to see if I could get the misty mark on it and I managed to get one that was Jumbo sized so I'm beaming.

Daaaaaaaaaammmnnnn congrats!!

I also plan to go for goomy, though not holding my breath on Jumbo— been using so much mustard this whole time and not a one on any of these pseudo legends :/

Okay, I think I’m about ready to give this one up… (all shiny of course)
Larvitar - Charismatic Mark, Safari Ball
Larvitar - Charismatic Mark, Luxury Ball
Larvitar - Destiny Mark, Friend Ball
Bagon - Rare Mark, Friend Ball
Bagon - Charismatic Mark, Nest Ball
Bagon - Destiny Mark, Dusk Ball
Bagon - Charismatic Mark, Friend Ball
Bagon - Destiny Mark, Friend Ball
(Since my bday was also around I wanted to get both Larvitar and Bagon in Friend Balls with the Destiny Mark— but I accidentally saved on both Charismatic and Destiny in not-friend balls one time so had to redo… Bagon)

Beldum - Rare Mark, Level Ball
Beldum - Charismatic Mark, Master Ball
Hisuian Sligoo - Charismatic Mark, Luxury Ball
Hisuian Sligoo - Mist Mark, Heal Ball
Goomy - Angry Mark, Heal Ball
Goomy - Mist Mark, Heal Ball

I went through SO much mustard, spicy, and bitter Herba but no Jumbo marks… (or mini)
Oh well— still satisfied!
