Well, first off, I either Missed when the VGC came, or it isn't coming to a place nearby, but nonetheless, I made a team because I like playing Doubles. More than regular 1 vs.1 and triples and rotation... well, you know, anyway, Since I haven't done one before, I decided to do a Tailwind-Style team. I'm not 100% sure on Items and so forth, so feel free to suggest differences:
Tornadus (M) @ Flying Gem
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -S.Atk)
- Tailwind
- Torment
- Taunt
- Acrobatics
Is this really hard to guess what this is all about? Tailwind on Priority is awesome, and Hammer Arm speed boost is temporarily nullified-somewhat with Tailwind Up, acrobatics for STAB. Torment, when used with Whimsicott's switcheroo, can basically cripple any pokemon, at least temporarily, forcing him toeither switch out, or sacrifice a pokemon.Taunt is basically just a general useful move for anyone who may try to counter this combo.
Whimsicott (M) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Prankster
EVs:
Hardy Nature
- Switcheroo
- Tailwind
- Flash
- Leech Seed
This I haven't tried yet, but I believe that Switcheroo may get priority, meaning Torment+Tricked item=crippled pokemon.Leech Seed if Recovery is needed, but will usually switch out after I screw the opponent out of a pokemon, more or less. Tailwind is there if Tornadus faints and cannot reinstate tailwind.Flash is always a fun thing to use, either forcing a switch, or causing a crapload of misses.
Beheeyem (M) @ Light Clay
Trait: Telepathy
EVs: 140 HP / 248 Def / 120 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Power Split
- Reflect
- Recover
- Psychic
To be paired with Ferrothorn. Power Split on a Ferrothorn switch in gives both Beheeyem and Ferro even greater defenses, with suitable means of recovery, possibly being able to do some serious stall. May swap Light Clay with Leftovers.
Ferrothorn (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 164 HP / 124 Def / 220 SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Gyro Ball
- Thunder Wave
- Leech Seed
- Worry Seed
Switch this in with Beheeyem to increase defensive capabilities. This Ugliest piece of **** in the known universe, can be surprisigly useful, I must admit, despite my hatred for it. Basic set pretty much, but Worry Seed is always useful in non-5th Gen only teams, being able to screw over Poison heal Breloom/Gliscor(don't really appear much though IMO) as well as others.
Unfezant (M) @ Power Herb
Trait: Big Pecks
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Tailwind
- FeatherDance
- Sky Attack
- U-turn
My favorite 5th Gen pokemon, I felt deserved to have a part in my team Tailwind, while not Prankster-ed, can have a use, giving him much needed speed, while being able to immediately attack with a high-powered Sky-Attack, then U-Turn Away, or Featherdance down some Physical Sweepers. I wanted to make a better moveset, but Unfezant is quite limited.
Escavalier (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Swarm
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def
Hardy Nature
- Aerial Ace
- Megahorn
- Iron Head
- Poison Jab
My main Tailwind-Sweeper, Mainly done because Escavalier is awesome, and Flying/Bug/Steel/Poison does not get very good coverage on it's own, get's half decent coverage altogether, and becomes a pretty fearsome sweeper combines with choice band.
So, what do you Think, feel very free to comment on my team, tell me where I need help, because I honestly suck at competitive battling. Pretty badly.
Finally, this has nothing to do with my team, but what do you think of a Electric Gem Tunderus & Expert Belt Motor Drive Electivire combo in a double battle? probably to be used as leads.
