Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
...just in time to see him open up the mystery suitcase.
Well, you certainly weren't expecting this. Inside is a small, well-kept laptop, hooked up to what you guess is a battery pack beside it. A second cable connects the computer to the suitcase itself, near the handle. Upon closer inspection, you notice said handle has a small black piece of plastic embedded in one of the ends, like a sensor.
What's this thing doing in the middle of nowhere?

"Well let's see if this works..."
Random: Turn on the laptop by pressing the power button.
On one hand, a mystery computer in the middle of nowhere is too damn fishy to be fiddling around with.
On the other, this might be a lead. Random attempts to boot up the laptop, only to find out it's been in sleep mode the entire time. There's a program up called "Dracula" - What you see makes little sense to you, just random numbers on one end and what looks to be sound waves on the other. The only text that makes any sense whatsoever says "Control Status: Standby," in the lower left corner, next to a graphic of a creepy looking, half-black, half-orange mask.
Before you can do anything else, however, the screen suddenly turns an angry red, and the following text appears in big, black letters:
The screen goes black. Loud pops are heard, and sparks shoot out from the keyboard. Random jerks away, but not without burning his fingers a little. Smoke begins to emit from the laptop afterwards, along with an acrid stench. The motherboard's fried.
WHAT DO, MIGHTY TRAINERS? (Also, Random suffers 1 damage from the exploding computer)

Gingerly, you step out of the shack, keeping an eye out for any hostiles. You don't see anything of note, and all you hear are bug and bird pokemon. The sky overhead looks like it's about to dump rain on you any minute now, but that's nothing new. You might be in the clear.
So apparently you guys are going back the way you came, correct? You wanna investigate the glade where you fought Ursaring, or just go straight to the busted bridge?

There's no way out beyond the way you came. Time to face the music...
Rollan: 5474, 7274 = NOPE.
Passing through the glade, you don't see any sign of the Ursaring you fought. Or her cub, for that matter. Perhaps they just cut their losses and bolted. As for the sky above...it looks horrible, but, miraculously, it doesn't rain. It's still not raining by the time you've reached the bridge.
-Teriblired Woods 2-
Well, unless you'd like to find an alternative means of crossing the river, Cosmo can ferry you back. In either case, there's only one path you haven't explored yet, and that goes further down the Imtoolazytocomeupwithaname.
WHAT DO, MIGHTY TRAINERS? (Also, I'd say given the time that's passed without rain, you guys should be no longer drenched by now)

"Ehhh we should not cross over the Imtoolazytocomeupwithaname unless it is really necessary but either way, we should just head further down this river."
Random: Head further down the River Imtoolazytocomeupwithaname.
Random looks around for any alternative roads, but can't find any. Perhaps he could knock down a tree or something to form a bridge, but it'd probably just be easier for Cosmo to ferry everyone across. (-12 EN Reuniclus)
Anyway, since there's only one way you haven't gone yet...
-Teriblired Woods 3-
You continue trudging along the Imtoolazytocomeupwithaname. It's not particularly pleasant; the road is muddy as deuce, mosquitoes are harassing you with every step, and you have a lingering suspicion that Ursaring from earlier lies in wait to ambush you. On the bright side, literally, in this case, it still isn't raining, and the clouds have parted enough to let a few rays of light in.
A figure steps out of the trees in front of you - a skinny, pale-faced, crazy looking guy in a black trenchcoat, presumably this "Count Malcolm." Could this be the "vampire" the rumors were talking about? You seriously doubt he actually is one; even if vampires really did exist, sunlight is directly shining on him, and he is neither sparkling nor crumbling to ashes. He's probably just delusional.
Or a psychopath.
Or a scammer.
Or a delusional psychopath who scams people.

"I think I'm gonna go with delusional psychopath who scams people."
"Oh no! We're in trouble now!"
"Really? Did you already forget Lysandre?"
"Well, he was delusional, and definitely a psychopath, but I don't think he ever scammed people. He was incredibly honest...about being a genocidal maniac."
"I dunno. Those Team Flare guys seemed pretty scammer-type to me."
"Well, except they really didn't scam people. They just had an odd fascination with taking over factories and power plants. And stealing fossils from caves." "Why is that even a crime anyways? Don't paleontologists do that all the time? I mean they're fossils, they aren't Pokemon until you revive them."
"Well I think it's the spirit of the matter Cosmo. They're destroying priceless relics for study to...wait what were they doing anyways. Come to think of it they never did explain what fossils had to do with nuking the populace."
"Well my theory is..."
Xavier and Reuniclus: Talk amongst themselves completely ignoring Count Malcolm
(To IAR: Just do whatever, doesn't really matter here.)
Random and Cosmo immediately begin snarking to themselves...
"Oh god, a ham with his head in the clouds." (I'm gonna go with the delusional psychopath who scams people.)
Xavier, on the other hand, seems to have taken Cosmo's more seriously than need be.
"Oh no! We're in trouble now!"
(Really? Did you forget Lysandre?)
"Well, he was delusional, and definitely a psychopath, but I don't think he ever scammed people. He was incredibly honest...about being a genocidal maniac."
"Uh-"
Random keeps an eye on our alleged vampire, watching his movements.
(I dunno, those Team Flare guys seemed pretty scammer-type to me.)
"Well, except they really didn't scam people. They just had an odd fascination with taking over factories and power plants. And stealing fossils from caves."
"Hello? Immortal vampire here?"
(Why is that even a crime, anyway? Don't paleontologists do that all the time? I mean, they're fossils, they aren't pokemon until you revive them.)
"Well, I think it's the spirit of the matter, Cosmo. They're destroying priceless relics for study to...wait, what were they doing, anyways? Come to think of it, they never did explain what fossils had to do with nuking the populace."
Malcolm's features contort into a horrifying slasher smile as he spreads his arms.
"Devour them, my children! Feed! FEED! AHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!"
Your thoughts immediately turn to the rumored hordes. If this guy isn't kidding, you might be in for a bad time. As you brace yourselves for what's to come, Malcolm looks upon you with psychotic glee...
...and blinks...
...and blinks again...
...and briefly looks to the left...
"...feed."
Nothing happens.
"...feed!"
Frustration crosses the alleged vampire's face, as he suddenly pulls out a device of some sort from his trenchcoat, furiously pounding the red button upon it.
"I said feed, dammit! Why isn't this thing working?!"
I don't think there's going to be any Zubats coming. I think Malcolm realized this as well, because he looks like a child who just got caught stealing cookies from the jar.
The lot of you give chase, running full speed down the trail. Unfortunately, your pursuit is already doomed to failure - A deep slop of mud ahead that is surrounded by boulders makes your endeavors exceedingly difficult. While Cosmo is able to float across, Xavier tries to power through, and falls over for his efforts. Random attempts to go around, but the rocks are slick from moss and the recent rains, and he nearly slips a couple of times. Regardless, it's slow going.
Cosmo returns by the time you've cleared this obstacle. Malcolm's long gone, and he couldn't catch up with him. He doesn't even remotely look the part, but he's got all the speed of an olympic runner. That said, there seems to be only one way he could have gone, and that's up ahead.

Well, Malcolm may be fast, but whether he was panicking or just incompetent, he's certainly not that good at covering his tracks. Following them, you reach a clearing where they lead to another ramshackle hut. Although the path continues further, you suspect the alleged vampire might have some business in this shack before he scrams entirely. There's a front door and a back; This might be your chance to ambush him!
