Guoguo's a real life friend who lives close by and we've been playing each other quite a bit since GSC, so we know each other's teams quite well. We're also 5th and 6th on the UU ladder rankings, so both of us have quite some experience with the metagame, and I was hoping not to get him, but expected nothing short of an interesting game now that I did.

guoguo: ScarfApe lead. I know he can't kill Claydol, so he's most likely going to U-Turn to something that can take on Claydol that can take a Psychic, so I'll just Toxic the switch.

outofdashdwz: Rather unexpected turn of events. I didn’t expect Toxic from him. On the bright side though, Absol can take a Toxic fine, since I’m not staying in much anyway, and thanks to Primeape’s crit, I can now take down Claydol regardless of him switching.
Absol used Pursuit.

Toxicroak used Cross Chop.
It's not very effective...
Mantine lost 37% of its health.
Mantine's leftovers restored its health a little!
Mantine restored 6% of its health.
Mantine – 69%
guoguo: Toxicroak is by far my favorite Pokemon on the team, But I know his Mantine carries HP [Flying] which can 2HKO my Toxicroak. I'll probably Ice Punch and take a hit then run to Clefable and stall it out. My Toxicroak doesn't mind losing a bit of hp.
outofdashdwz: Bleh. Toxicroak, his pride and joy. I recalled it being primarily physical, but depending on past knowledge has killed me on more than one occasion, so I switch in Mantine to take the potential Nasty Plotter. Getting hit with Cross Chop doesn’t really stop me. My Mantine has HP [Flying] thanks to my many Mantine stallwars with Eo Ut Mortus :D

Toxicroak used Ice Punch.
Absol lost 48% of its health.
Absol is hurt by poison!
Absol lost 6% of its health.
Absol – 27%
guoguo: It seems like he doesn't want to sacrifice his Mantine just yet. Absol is at 27% right now, which is just barely out of Sucker Punch range. Poison will take care of Absol if I do decide to Sucker Punch, but I don't want to lose my Toxicroak yet. Time to swtich.
outofdashdwz: I decide Mantine is potentially useful even with only a fifth of its HP remaining and switch to Absol to take his Ice Punch and threaten him with Psycho Cut.
Absol used Pursuit.
It's not very effective...
Toxicroak lost 32% of its health.
guoguo: Well this is convenient, Toxicroak wasn't critically damaged by Pursuit, and Absol is locked into a low-power move. Time to set up and prepare a sweep with Leafeon.
outofdashdwz: ……Buuuut I decided to Pursuit him and hope for a crit instead of dealing minimal damage to his switch in to absorb Psycho Cut. I don’t get my crit, but at least it took out a third of Toxicroak’s health.

guoguo: Hah, that was a lot more powerful than I thought it would be. Probopass is bulky, but it's no Steelix. Time to get rid of this guy.
outofdashdwz: WOW Leafeon hurts! I did NOT expect it to nearly OHKO me. I suppose I’m lucky he didn’t crit or roll higher though, and managed to get out Stealth Rock. I don’t really feel like sacrificing anything else, and I can revenge kill with my various sweepers, so I decide to sacrifice Probopass.
Leafeon used Leaf Blade.
Probopass lost 10% of its health.
outofdashdwz's Probopass fainted.

guoguo's Leafeon fainted.
(4-5)
Swellow was hit by recoil!
Swellow lost 28% of its health.
Swellow was badly poisoned!
Swellow – 78%
guoguo: Swellow is going to cause me trouble. From what I remember, it’s got Quick Attack and Pursuit along with the 2 usual moves. Nothing on my team particularly likes Brave Bird, and only Froslass likes Facade, so I'll have to settle with revenge killing Swellow with priority.
outofdashdwz: Hehe, Swellow, the bane of teams. Usually, Probopass traps Steelix, Aggron, and other Probopass, clearing the field for Swellow, but in this case, it doesn’t really matter. Guoguo’s team in particular hates Swellow very much. He pretty much only has one answer to it, in the form of…
guoguo switched in Hitmontop (lvl 100 Hitmontop).

Froslass – 33%
Claydol – 97%
guoguo: That did a lot more damage than I would’ve hoped. Ice Beam won't OHKO it but he knows I carry DBond and he can't lose Claydol or else Hitmontop will have a field day with most of his walls dead, so I go for Spikes.
outofdashdwz: Hmm, well I know I can take one Ice Beam, but then there’s the issue of Destiny Bond. Besides, I need Claydol at high health to take repeated hits from Hitmontop, and I have a feeling he’s going to spike, so I go to my trusty…
outofdashdwz switched in Absol (lvl 100 Absol).
Froslass used Spikes.

Froslass's leftovers restored its health a little!
Froslass restored 6% of its health.
Froslass – 39%
Absol – 9%
guoguo: In hindsight, that was a complete mistake on my part. Out of his remaining pokemon, only Absol and Primeape are affected by spikes, and one is dying while the other doesn't care since it's scarfed. I really should have Ice Beamed that turn D: Either way, it dies to Pursuit so I'm keeping it in so that I don't have to switch in before he does.
outofdashdwz: Yes! No Ice Beam means Absol chases down another victim.
Absol used Pursuit.
It's super effective!
Froslass lost 46% of its health.
guoguo's Froslass fainted.
Absol is hurt by poison!
Absol lost 11% of its health.
outofdashdwz's Absol fainted.
(3-4)
guoguo: At least the Absol died T_T
outofdashdwz: Rest in peace. Absol usually does quite a bit for the team, but catching both of his spikers was more than I could have ever expected <3

Claydol restored 6% of its health.
Toxicroak – 68%
Claydol – 91%
guoguo: I was really hoping for Primeape to come out, but instead I get this guy. Time to run.
outofdashdwz: I know his remaining three members are Hitmontop, Toxicroak, and Clefable, and neither of the first two like Claydol, but Clefable doesn’t like Primeape. I ended up going with Claydol and it worked :]
guoguo switched in Clefable (lvl 100 Clefable).
Pointed stones dug into Clefable.
Claydol used Psychic.
Clefable lost 17% of its health.
Claydol's leftovers restored its health a little!
Claydol restored 6% of its health.
Clefable was burned!
Clefable – 83%
Claydol – 97%
guoguo: Nothing surprising here. Clefable will wall his Claydol all day so he's definitely switching either to Primeape or Swellow. Using Trick might give him a free switch to Swellow, so all I can do is SToss his switch in.
outofdashdwz: That was very expected, but it does present a new dilemma. I really, really don’t like Clefables, especially Tricking ones. I want Swellow at highest health possible to take a potential Fake Out from Hitmontop and can’t get Primeape burned, so I decide to stay in.
Claydol used Rapid Spin.
Claydol blew away the spikes!
Clefable lost 4% of its health.
Clefable used Seismic Toss.
Claydol lost 31% of its health.
Claydol's leftovers restored its health a little!
Claydol restored 6% of its health.
Clefable was hurt by its burn!
Clefable – 79%
Claydol – 72%
guoguo: A bit unexpected, but it was to my advantage. I guess he expected a Trick from Clefable. Since Claydol doesn't have any recovery, I can try to whittle down his HP until my Hitmontop can sweep.
outofdashdwz: Hmm, well, I think now he’s just going to keep STossing me, so I decide to go Primeape and threaten with Close Combat.
outofdashdwz switched in Primeape (lvl 100 Primeape).
Clefable used Seismic Toss.
Primeape lost 37% of its health.
Clefable was hurt by its burn!
Clefable – 79%
Primeape – 63%
guoguo: Any damage is good damage. Time to switch.
outofdashdwz: Meh. Primeape can take one more SToss and still live to tell the tale. He’s obviously going to go to Toxicroak to eat my Close Combat. I thought I might have been able to 2HKO, but I wasn’t completely positive, so I decided to U-Turn instead.
guoguo switched in Toxicroak (lvl 100 Toxicroak).
Pointed stones dug into Toxicroak.
Toxicroak lost 6% of its health.
Primeape used U-turn.

Swellow lost 6% of its health.
Toxicroak's Black Sludge restored a little health!
Toxicroak restored 6% of its health.
Toxicroak – 62%
Swellow – 66%
guoguo: I had a feeling he would do that. Now, Sucker Punch will kill his Swellow, but I'm pretty sure he's carrying Quick Attack which will make Fake Out and Sucker Punch useless. I also know that Quick Attack will 2HKO Toxicroak so if I predict wrong, it will die. After some deliberating, I opt for Ice Punch hoping that he use Quick Attack.
outofdashdwz: Ugh. Guessing wars. If Sucker doesn’t kill me, I’m sure the poison will. The good news is, if I Façade, something will die this turn. The bad news is that Swellow might be that thing. I run Quick Attack/Façade/Brave Bird/U-Turn, and decide to just go with Façade and see how it goes.
Swellow used Facade.
A critical hit!
Toxicroak lost 61% of its health.
guoguo's Toxicroak fainted.

Hitmontop lost 10% of its health.
Hitmontop – 68%
guoguo: Hah! I knew he would switch out. Swellow deserves to eat that Pursuit after giving me so much trouble. Well, he's going to switch in his Claydol again. I know that Hitmontop won't do much and will get KOed by Claydol. He knows I know that. I know that he knows that. I know that. But, he doesn't know that I know that he knows that I know that. Which is why I'm keeping my Hitmontop in.
outofdashdwz: UGH. I was too afraid of his numerous priorities to stay in and paid for it. I’m going to have a hard time sweeping now. About Claydol…. Yea… what he said <_<

guoguo: Yes, my predicting him predicting a switch definitely paid off. I switch to Clefable to ensure the KO. This one's over. With Claydol and Mantine both at critical HP, they are just walking corpses >:D
outofdashdwz: WHAT?!?! I thought he would try keep his Hitmontop alive and run to Clefable for sure, since it’s the only thing stopping Primeape. That mistake may have just cost me the game :[

outofdashdwz: I Protect to stall for a bit more health. I debate Protecting again, since I’m positive I can survive a Mach Punch at 33%, but Protect really hates me for some reason, and has never worked twice in a row for me ever :[, so I decide to go for the kill and hope I live…

guoguo: Darn, Mach Punch leaves Mantine at a measly 2% health, who then promptly kills my Hitmontop with HP [Flying]. Good game, outofdashdwz!
outofdashdwz: Yay! I live! Had it killed me, Bullet Punch would have finished Claydol and the game. Good game :]
Props:
-Pursuit! It was the game changer in this match for both of us. I can't imagine how differently this game would've turned out if it weren't for that move.
-Hitmontop, my Pursuit user, my priority user, and my hero for this game. Although you didn't make it through at the end, I still loves you.
-Leafeon, for taking care of his other wall for me, even though you didn't last long in this game.
Slops:
-Froslass and Claydol, who both ended up as cannon fodder. It's a pity it ended up that way since they usually do a lot more for my team.
-Swellow, for not using Quick Attack on my Toxicroak, which led to its death. Does it even carry Quick Attack? I swear it did, because I suggested that he carry it many times.
-Toxicroak, for not killing Mantine, who later came back to bite me in the behind.
-Primeape, for critting my Claydol, leading to its premature death.
Props:
-MANTINE!!!! Awesome little ray survived Hitmontop’s final assault :]
-Pursuit :] What he said. This move plays a large part in all of my games, as I depend on Absol to catch spin blockers on their way out, but this game especially, Pursuit was extremely important for both of us.
-Primeape, Swellow, and Absol. My 3 sweepers all shined wonderfully this match. And yes, I have QA. Hehe. It was your idea.
Slops:
-Mantine getting frozen :[
-Getting Swellow and Claydol both Pursuited :[ That was my fault.

guoguo: Hah, that was a lot more powerful than I thought it would be.

He pretty much only has one answer to it, in the form of…

guoguo: That did a lot more damage than I would’ve hoped.

Absol used Pursuit.

guoguo: At least the Absol died T_T

guoguo: I was really hoping for Primeape to come out, but instead I get this guy. Time to run.
outofdashdwz: I know his remaining three members are Hitmontop, Toxicroak, and Clefable, and neither of the first two like Claydol, but Clefable doesn’t like Primeape. I ended up going with Claydol and it worked :]

I want Swellow at highest health possible to take a potential Fake Out from Hitmontop and can’t get Primeape burned, so I decide to stay in.

guoguo: A bit unexpected, but it was to my advantage. I guess he expected a Trick from Clefable. Since Claydol doesn't have any recovery, I can try to whittle down his HP until my Hitmontop can sweep.
outofdashdwz: Hmm, well, I think now he’s just going to keep STossing me, so I decide to go Primeape and threaten with Close Combat.

guoguo: Any damage is good damage. Time to switch.
outofdashdwz: Meh. Primeape can take one more SToss and still live to tell the tale. He’s obviously going to go to Toxicroak to eat my Close Combat. I thought I might have been able to 2HKO, but I wasn’t completely positive, so I decided to U-Turn instead.

guoguo: I had a feeling he would do that.
I run Quick Attack/Façade/Brave Bird/U-Turn, and decide to just go with Façade and see how it goes.

guoguo: Hah!

That mistake may have just cost me the game :[

guoguo: Well I didn't expect Protect, which leaves his Mantine at 27% . It all comes down to this, if Mantine dies, then I win, if it lives, I lose. There's nothing else to do except see the ending for yourselves
outofdashdwz: I Protect to stall for a bit more health.
