[Overview]
[list]
[*]Because of its huge base 165 HP, access to recovery in Wish, and decent Defense, Alomomola is great physical wall / support Pokemon to the team.
[*]Very difficult to defeat on the physical side; has a combination of Toxic, Protect, and Wish to maintain longevity and cripple the opponent.
[*]It can pass very large Wishes to its teammates, making it a perfect Wish support Pokemon in NU
[*]Great ability in Regenerator, not fearing entry hazards and can switch out whenever it's in a pinch. It also let's Alomomola pass off its Wishes and still gain HP.
[*]Setup fodder for many Pokemon (Substitute), as Alomomola lacks offensive presence to threaten them.
[*]Taunt bait. Relies on Toxic for damage more than its STAB moves, which allows Pokemon who can ignore Toxic to easily set up against it.
[*]Special attackers can target Alomomola's saddening Special Defense.
[*]Excellent physically defensive pivot and Wish passer nonetheless; performs its role very well.[/list]

[SET]

move 4: Toxic

[SET COMMENTS]
[list]
[*]Works very well as a bulky Pokemon because of its HP stat, and it also can support its fellow teammates with Wish, healing them when necessary.
[*]Functions as a great physically defensive wall; CB Sawk, Swellow and Kangaskhan all cannot easily defeat Alomomola.
[*]Along with Wish, Alomomola has no problem switching often because of Regenerator, making it increasingly difficult to KO.
[*]Wish - core of the set, can heal itself and its teammates a very generous amount with its massive HP stat.
[*]Protect is a really important move in this set as well, as it works well in conjunction with Wish, allowing Alomomola to almost always heal itself. It also racks up Leftover recovery and scout attacks; it's a really great asset on Alomomola.
[*]Waterfall prevents Alomomola from being complete Taunt bait and acts as a good STAB move coming off of its ok Attack stat. Unlike Scald, it is strong enough to break through frail Substitutes.
[*]Toxic is the final move of the set, working well with Protect to stall the opponent out, slowing crippling them of HP.[/list]

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]
[list]
[*]120 EVs in Special Defense allow Alomomola to become a better pivot against specially attacking Pokemon, such as Charizard and Samurott. 136 HP EVs allow Alomomola to reach 505 HP and give 252 HP to a Pokemon via Wish, which can really be helpful in the tide of battle. Max Defense + Impish nature allows Alomomola to tank physical attacks easily, only getting a 2HKO from a CB Sawk and a Guts-powered Swellow can only 3HKO Alomomola with Facade.
[*]Leftovers increase Alomomola's longevity, making it harder to weak down, and it works well with Protect.
[*]Regenerator is the ability of choice, as it grants Alomomola the ability to switch in and out without fear of entry hazards. It is also excellent when it is in a pinch, giving it 33% of its HP back.
[*]Scald can be used in place of Waterfall for the burn chance, but it would be even weaker than Waterfall, as it is coming off Alomomola's pitiful Special Attack.
[*]Alomomola can be rendered useless if it is crippled by status; Lickilicky and Flareon both make great partners, as they both have Wish as well. Flareon can also take on the Grass-types, specifically Tangela, Vileplume, and Roselia, that Alomomola can't get near. They can also take special attacks quite well for Alomomola. (They also offer Heal Bell support) Audino offers Heal Bell support as well.
[*]Toxic Spikes support - it would aid Alomomola in stalling the opponent. Garbodor and Scolipede are good choices for that; Garbodor can handle Grass-types as well, if needed. This also lessens the need for Toxic, allowing Alomomola to use other support moves.
[*]Pokemon that benefit from Wish support are good partners as well - Regice and Eelektross are good examples of such.
[*]Electric-types can jump the gun on Alomomola, specifically Rotom-S and F; Golem does well against both of them and many other Electric-types.
[*]Finally, Taunt users can easily shut Alomomola down, specifically Serperior and Samurott, as they both take little from Waterfall. Mantine does well against both of them if Alomomola struggles to stay in against them.[/list]

[Other Options]
[list]
[*]A set utilizing Hydration, Rest, and Rain Dance is an interesting set, as it gives Alomomola reliable recovery and longevity. However, it doesn't have the moveslots to make it work.
[*]Knock Off - can remove the opponent's item, crippling them further. However, it is challenging to fit this move in Alomomola's moveset.
[*]Refresh is a great way to heal off status conditions, but it is rather difficult to find a spot for it on the set without hindering Alomomola's abilities.
[*]Healing Wish - situational option, but since Wish heals the majority of NU pretty well, it isn't worth sacrificing Alomomola for the same effect.
[*]Light Screen is an option for more support, but more Pokemon are better off for it, and it forces Alomomola to give up a precious moveslot.
[*]With access to Calm Mind Ice Beam, Shadow Ball, and Hydro Pump, Alomomola, at first glance, seems like a good candidate for a special attacker. However, coming off of a weak Special Attack stat, it is hardly worth using.
[*]Substitute Rest with Sleep Talk seem viable, but Alomomola doesn't have anything to set up with behind Substitute, and it is already bulky enough, so RestTalk is useless in its case.
[*]Mirror Coat and Soak are plausible options; the former allows Alomomola to use its pitiful SpD to its advantage, reflecting double the damage inflicted, while the latter is a gimmicky option to switch any type into Water.
[*]Finally, Aqua Jet could be used for priority, but it wouldn't do much damage from Alomomola's mediocre Attack.[/list]

[Checks and Counters]
[list]
[*]Taunt - great way to silence Alomomola; Serperior, Skuntank, and Samurott are good users of Taunt to handle Almomola.
[*]Status moves can cripple Alomomola (specifically Toxic), so wearing it down with that is another good strategy. Vileplume and Tangela are good Pokemon for that.
[*]Substitute users - Alomomola isn't strong enough to break through the Sub, so Pokemon who can utilize that well (Braviary, Sawkbuck, Jynx). Also, the majority of the tier can set up on Alomomola, but they must be careful of Toxic.
[*]Strong / bulky Grass- and Electric-types, such as Rotom-W, Rotom-F, Eelektross, and Exeggutor, can easily KO Alomomola.
[*]Roselia deserves its own special mention because it can take any move Alomomola normally carries, threaten it with a STAB Giga Drain, and can set up Spikes and Toxic Spikes so that Alomomola has more difficulty switching in.
[*]Gothorita - can trap Alomomola from switching / supporting its teammates with Wish and attack it in return.
[*]Aiming towards Alomomola's weaker Special Defense is also a good tactic, as it is very difficult to defeat Alomomola with physical attacks. Gorebyss with SubSmash is a great example, as it can not not avoid Toxic with Sub, but it can set up on Alomomola and attack with HP Grass.[/list]
[Overview]

With an enormous base 165 HP, Alomomola stands out as one of the best Wish passers in the game. It's a very successful physically defensive pivot as well, tanking some of the strongest physical attackers in the metagame. Although it is unable to inflict much damage onto Pokemon with its STAB moves, Alomomola can also weaken the opponent by stalling out Toxic damage while maintaining its longevity.

[SET COMMENTS]

Alomomola is a very effective physically defensive pivot; physically offensive Pokemon such as Choice Band Sawk, Swellow, and Kangaskhan greatly struggle to defeat it. In addition, Alomomola has no problem switching often because of Regenerator, making it incredibly difficult to KO. Wish is key for the set, as the degree to which Alomomola can heal itself and its teammates is one of its main strengths. Protect is an important move for this set as well, as it works well in conjunction with Wish, allowing Alomomola to almost always heal itself. It also racks up Leftovers recovery and scouts the opponent's attacks. While Alomomola lacks offensive presence, Waterfall prevents Alomomola from being complete Taunt bait and acts as a good STAB move. It is also strong enough to break through frail Pokemon's Substitutes. Toxic is the final move of the set, working well with Protect to stall opponents, slowly whittling away at their HP. It is also Alomomola's main way of inflicting damage onto the opponent.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

120 EVs in Special Defense allow Alomomola to become a better pivot against specially offensive Pokemon, such as Charizard. 136 HP EVs allow Alomomola to reach 505 HP, making it very difficult to wear down. 252 EVs are placed in Defense, and when it's paired with an Impish nature, Alomomola can tank physical attacks much easier. For examples, even a Choice Band Sawk can only 2HKO Alomomola, and a Guts-boosted Swellow can only 3HKO with Facade. With the given EVs in Special Defense, it can also avoid the 2HKO from a Life Orb Jynx's Focus Blast while inflicting Toxic upon it. Alomomola also fares well against mixed attackers that cannot hone in on either of Alomomola's defenses, such as Samurott. Regenerator is the ability of choice, as it grants Alomomola the ability to switch in without fear of entry hazards. It's also what makes Alomomola a phenomenal Wish passer, as it is able to use Wish, tank a hit, and switch out while still remaining at nearly full HP. Scald can be used in place of Waterfall for a potential burn chance, but it is even weaker than Waterfall and leaves Alomomola helpless against anything with Substitute due to Alomomola's pitiful Special Attack.

Alomomola can be rendered useless if it is inflicted with status; Lickilicky, Audino, and Flareon are great partners for this reason, as they can use Heal Bell to heal Alomomola when necessary. Flareon in particular can take on Grass-types—specifically Tangela, Vileplume, and Roselia—that Alomomola can't get near. They can also take special attacks quite well for Alomomola. Misdreavus and Miltank can also be considered as well; they offer utilities that Alomomola can find useful, such as inflicting the opponent with burn or paralysis, respectively. Toxic Spikes support aid sAlomomola in slowly weakening the opponent. Garbodor and Scolipede are good choices in that department; both can handle Grass-types as well if needed. This also lessens the need for Toxic, which allows Alomomola to use other support moves. Pokemon that benefit from Wish support are great partners to use alongside Alomomola; Regice and Eelektross are examples of such. Electric-types can easily KO Alomomola, specifically Rotom-S and Rotom-F. Eelektross, Piloswine, and Seismitoad are all great answers to these Pokemon. They also appreciate the Wish support Alomomola provides. Finally, Taunt users prevent Alomomola from supporting its team, so having partners to deal with them is recommended.

[Other Options]

Despite having one viable set, Alomomola has plenty of interesting options for you to utilize. A set consisting of Hydration, Rest, and Rain Dance is intriguing, as it gives Alomomola reliable recovery and longevity. However, it would have trouble fitting all this into a moveset that would be effective, and replacing one of Alomomola's vital moves with Rain Dance generally isn't worth it. Knock Off can further cripple the opponent, but it is challenging to fit this into Alomomola's moveset. Refresh is a great way to heal off status conditions, but it is rather difficult to find a spot for it on the set without hindering Alomomola's abilities. Healing Wish is a situational option, but as Wish almost fully heals the majority of the tier, it isn't worth sacrificing Alomomola for essentially same effect. Light Screen is an option to better support the team, but other Pokemon outclass Alomomola in using it, and it forces Alomomola to give up a precious moveslot.

With access to Calm Mind, Ice Beam, Shadow Ball, and Hydro Pump, Alomomola seems like a good candidate for a special attacker at first glance. However, with a weak Special Attack stat, it is hardly worth using in this role. Substitute with Rest and Sleep Talk appears to be viable, but Alomomola doesn't have anything to set up with behind Substitute, and it is already bulky enough, so RestTalk is useless in this case. It also doesn't have the available moveslots to fully utilize Substitute's effect. Mirror Coat and Soak are plausible options; the former allows Alomomola to use its pitiful Special Defense to its advantage, while the latter is a gimmicky option that allows it to use Toxic on Poison- and Steel-types. Finally, Aqua Jet could be used for priority, but it wouldn't do much damage from Alomomola's mediocre Attack. All in all, Alomomola would almost always rather stick to its standard set.

[Checks and Counters]

Taunt is a great way to silence Alomomola; Serperior, Skuntank, and Samurott can all handle it this way. Status moves, particularly Toxic, cripple Alomomola, so wearing it down with them is a good strategy. Vileplume and Tangela can do this fairly well. Because Alomomola isn't strong enough to break through bulky Substitutes or those from Pokemon that resist Water-type attacks, Pokemon such as Braviary, Sawsbuck, and Jynx can easily set up on it. Also, because of Alomomola's pathetic offensive presence, the majority of the tier can set up on Alomomola without needing Substitute, though they must be careful of Toxic. Arbok and Muk in particular fare well against Alomomola because of their immunity to Toxic and not taking severe damage from Waterfall. Strong Grass- and Electric-types, such as Rotom-S, Rotom-F, Eelektross, and Exeggutor, can KO Alomomola quite easily. Roselia deserves its own special mention, as it can take any move Alomomola normally carries, threaten it with a STAB Giga Drain, and can set up Spikes and Toxic Spikes so that Alomomola has more difficulty switching in. Gothorita can trap and take out Alomomola, preventing it from switching and supporting its teammates. Targeting Alomomola's weaker Special Defense is a great tactic; Gorebyss with Substitute and Shell Smash is a great choice for this, as it can avoid Toxic with Substitute and set up freely.

Not much to say here since you haven't added much, but I would change Alomomola's EV spread to: 136 HP / 252 Def / 120 SpD.

The change in physical bulk is not very large:
252 Atk Choice Band Golurk (+Atk) Earthquake vs 136 HP/252 Def Alomomola (+Def) : 42.77% - 50.5% (3 hits to KO)
252 Atk Choice Band Golurk (+Atk) Earthquake vs 252 HP/252 Def Alomomola (+Def) : 40.45% - 47.75% (3 hits to KO)

But the change in special bulk is:
252 SpAtk Life Orb Charizard Air Slash vs 136 HP/120 SpDef Alomomola: 42.38% - 50.1% (3 hits to KO)
252 SpAtk Life Orb Charizard Air Slash vs 252 HP/0 SpDef Alomomola: 49.63% - 58.43% (2-3 hits to KO)

It allows Alomomola to be a better pivot into a lot more Pokemon now including Charizard and Samurott.

QC also decided that Scald should be added to AC and not a slash, just so you know for the skeleton.

Alomomola can be rendered useless if it is crippled by status; Lickilicky and Flareon both make great partners, as they both have Wish as well. Flareon can also take on the Grass-types, specifically Tangela, Vileplume, and Roselia, that Alomomola can't get near. They can also take special attacks quite well for Alomomola.
Just don't forget to mention Heal Bell. :>

In the Overview when you mention Regenerator, add that it let's Alomomola pass off its Wishes and still gain HP. Waterfall is better than Scald because it is actually strong enough to break frail Substitutes, which is something you should mention in Set Comments. Calm Mind should be mentioned in OO alongside its Special moves, not with Substitute. Include Mirror Coat and Soak in OO as well, they're not good but people seem to use them occasionally (though this is debatable). In CC, I feel like Roselia deserves its own special mention because it can take any move Alomomola normally carries, threaten it with a STAB Giga Drain, and set up Spikes and Toxic Spikes so that it has more difficulty switching in.

Other than that, Alomomola doesn't have much else.

I wouldn't really call Alomomola a physical wall, but more of a physically defensive pivot. You can change those mentions in the Overview and w/e else you have it.

When talking about Heal Bell partners add Audino to the list.

I think that Knock Off and Refresh should be removed from AC and mentioned in OO instead. Alomomola should pretty much always be using Wish / Protect / STAB / Toxic.

Neal and Jack and me, absent lovers...
Mention gothorita in checkers and counters. You can also add jynx to substitute users since alomomla can't touch it once it's behind it's sub.
I might give this the final check when this is written if no one beats me to it.

you did a good job. a few things of note:

- i'd avoid redundant phrasing, if you can; the first sentence doesn't flow very well because you used the same "physically offensive" wording. personally, i don't like that phrasing much, but if you do want to use it maybe it'd be best to reword that sentence a little so it's not so jarring. it's just a matter of wording, but yea it'd look a lot nicer if you scoured this for "repeat" phrases, or those that make the sentence sound forced and awkward rather than easy to read. if you'd like, i can go through and point out the other instances i think are a little strange-sounding but if you patch the ones you find, i think that'd be just fine (and GP can catch anything else).

- when you mention the spread, i'd specifically point out that it helps with potentially mixed threats (samurott) and note any specific KOes or 2HKOes it avoids. you did a good job with the defense part; it'd be nice to have a reference calc for the sdef investment, since to most new players it seems random and weird. examples of subs that alom can't break with scald

- when you talk about regenerator, it's really important you point out that it's what makes alom a phenomenal wish-passer. being able to wish, tank a hit, then switch out and remain at near-full HP is just fantastic.

- heal bell users: i'd consider mentioning misdreavus, miltank; they don't stack wish and provide other useful utilities that audino / flareon don't really do.

- idt you can mention a specific partner for "taunt" users, esp since samurott / serperior / skuntank are all varied in nature. it's just better to say "hey watch out for these guys, and make sure to pack an answer for them" and possibly give examples if you want to. also, golem isn't a perfect answer to those elecs imo, because most golem are played aggressively so that they're hard to be reliable answers. i'd have a few alternate mentions; things like eelektross are pretty solid handling them, as are seismitoad and piloswine. seismitoad presents some redundancies but not as many as you'd imagine especially if it's sdef, and all three really appreciate wish support.

- arbok and muk need special mention b/c toxic immunity (scald is annoying tho). explain why the majority of the tier can set up on it (weak). don't mention hp grass on subsmash gorebyss; subsmash should run surf + sig beam. gorebyss has no issue with alomomola.

I'm probably just missing something, but I feel this should be clarified a little bit), and it is already bulky enough, so RestTalk is useless in this case. Mirror Coat and Soak are plausible options; the former allows Alomomola to use its pitiful Special Defense to its advantage, retaliating twice the damage it was inflicted, while the latter is a gimmicky option to turn any Pokemon into a Water-typethat allows it to poison Poison- and Steel-types. Finally, Aqua Jet could be used for priority, but it wouldn't do much damage from Alomomola's mediocre Attack. Arbok and Muk in particular can fare well against Alomomola because of their immunity to Toxic and not taking severe damage from Waterfall. Strong Grass- and Electric-types, such as Rotom-W Rotom-S, Rotom-F, Eelektross, and Exeggutor, can KO quite easily. Roselia deserves its own special mention, as it can take any move Alomomola normally carries, threaten it with a STAB Giga Drain, and can set up Spikes and Toxic Spikes so that Alomomola has more difficulty switching in. Gothorita can trap and take out Alomomola (add comma) preventing it from switching and supporting its teammates and attack it in return. Targeting Alomomola's weaker Special Defense is a great tactic, as it is very difficult to defeat Alomomola with physical attacks. Gorebyss with SubSmash Substitute and Shell Smash is a great example choice for this, as it can avoid Toxic with Substitute and set up on Alomomola freely.

My god, there were so many mistakes that I should've seen (Sawkbuck? Lol) My apologies for making you correct all of that; I'll make sure to proofread it next time around. Thank you for going through it, melvni. It only needs one more check to get on-site! (I can't change the title, but it is 1/2 for GP.)

Hey governess, amcheck. I noticed a couple of mistakes that melvni corrected which were not made on the OP, and while I made the ones that I caught, I would suggest going back and checking melvin's check (lol) just to be sure. Great job as always.

[Overview]

With an enormous base 165 HP, Alomomola stands out as one of the best Wissh passers in the tier NU.

[SET]
name: Wish
move 1: Wish
move 2: Protect
move 3: Waterfall
move 4: Toxic
item: Leftovers
ability: Regenerator
nature: Impish
evs: 136 HP / 252 Def / 120 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

Alomomola is a very effective physically defensive pivot; physically offensive Pokemon such as Choice Band Sawk, Swellow, and Kangaskhan greatly struggle to defeat it. In addition, Alomomola has no problem switching often because of Regenerator, making it incredibly difficult to KO. Wish is key for the set, as the degree to which Alomomola can heal itself and its teammates is one of its main strengths. Protect is an important move for this set as well, as it works well in conjunction with Wish, allowing Alomomola to almost always heal itself.; It it also racks up Leftovers recovery and scouts the opponent's attacks. While Alomomola lacks offensive presence, Waterfall prevents Alomomola from being complete Taunt bait and acts as a good STAB move. It is also strong enough to break through frail Substitutes.

For examples, even a Choice Band Sawk can only 2HKO Alomomola, and a Guts-powered Swellow can only 3HKO with Facade. Scald can be used in place of Waterfall for a potential burn chance, but it is even weaker than Waterfall and leaves Alomomola helpless against anything with Substitute, as it is coming off Alomomola's pitiful Special Attack.

Alomomola can be rendered useless if it is inflicted with status; Lickilicky, Audino, and Flareon are great partners to choose from for this reason, as they can use Heal Bell to heal Alomomola when necessary. Flareon in particular can take on Grass-types,—specifically Tangela, Vileplume, and Roselia,—that Alomomola can't get near. They can also take special attacks quite well for Alomomola. Misdreavus and Miltank can also be considered as well; they offer utilities that Alomomola can find useful, such as inflicting the opponent with burn or paralysis, respectively. Toxic Spikes support aid Alomomola in slowly weakening the opponent. Garbodor and Scolipede are good choices in that department; both can handle Grass-types as well, if needed. Eelektross, Piloswine, and Seismitoad are all great answers to these Pokemon.;They also appreciate the Wish support Alomomola provides.

Knock Off can further cripple the opponent.; Hhowever, it is challenging to fit this move into Alomomola's moveset. Refresh is a great way to heal off status conditions, but it is rather difficult to find a spot for it on the set without hindering Alomomola's abilities. Healing Wish is a situational option, but as Wish almost fully heals the majority of the tier pretty well, it isn't worth sacrificing Alomomola for essentially same effect. You could use 'almost fully heals the majority', or 'heals the majority of the tier pretty well', not both. Light Screen is an option to better support the team, but other Pokemon are better off at using it, and it forces Alomomola to give up a precious moveslot.

With access to Calm Mind, Ice Beam, Shadow Ball, and Hydro Pump, Alomomola seems like a good candidate for a special attacker at first glance. However, coming off of a weak Special Attack stat, it is hardly worth using in this role. Substitute with Rest and Sleep Talk appears to be viable, but Alomomola doesn't have anything to set up with behind Substitute, and it is already bulky enough, so RestTalk is useless in this case. It also doesn't have the available moveslots to fully utilize Substitute's effect. Mirror Coat and Soak are plausible options; the former allows Alomomola to use its pitiful Special Defense to its advantage, while the latter is a gimmicky option that allows it to poison Poison- and Steel-types.

Because Alomomola isn't strong enough to break through bulky Substitutes or those from Pokemon that resist Water-type attacks, Pokemon who can utilize them well, such as Braviary, Sawsbuck, and Jynx, can easily set up on it.
