I'm still sitting on 1 coin. I need to get that going.

I've been banging on rocks for an hour. This shovel must be broken. Shouldn't these things be giving me goodies by now.
 
You only get 1 money rock and 1 mineral rock per day. Dig two holes to brace yourself and then hit A as soon as the next coin/pouch lands. You can get up to 8 money items this way. The amounts are based on luck, and possibly the shovel you are using (I forget).

Note the two holes that brace me as I hit the rock on a diagonal.

Alternately, open your gates and shake trees. Beehives cannot spawn while the gate is open.

At least I know I'm semi-doing it right.

Tomorrow I finally have my home built, 10k was relatively easy to grab.

Gonna paste this from the 3DS thread. We have 20+ people who frequent the channel now and it is always growing. The channel also features a friend code compendium.
 
I /think/ you can tell Isabelle that they're troublesome, but I'm really not sure. (I've never done that to any of my villagers.)

On another topic, where can you get any of the golden items?
 
If you REALLY want a villager gone, just be a complete ass. Drop them in pitfall traps, say no to everything, smack them with bugnets, etc. Isabelle works too I think.

If you collect 3 gold nuggets, the blue alpaca in Re-tail, Cyrus, will make you a piece of gold furniture. The other ores are for bling-ing out certain furniture.

Clarity on the town visiting, etc. I added a few people I know, one popped into my town recently, started digging holes and killing flowers..

Does that effect my town? Or is it all just cosmetic for online play?

If I visit his town, do shit, etc.. Will it ruin his town?
 
Everything someone does to your town online affects your town offline. You should only add people you trust. If they start doing stuff like this, shut off the 3DS before they leave the town and it autosaves. Unlike previous games, Resetti doesn't throw a hissy fit unless you construct the Resetti Reset Center.

Alternatively, you can just turn off your wireless switch.
 
Wow I finally unlocked my QR code machine at the Able Sisters and wow. I've scored so many different designs off Tumblr (e.g. Akatsuki cloak and Eren's uniform, etc.) and I'm having a lot of fun.
 
Yeah I'm still waiting for that unlock. Probably tomorrow or Sunday. Bookmarked a lot of tumblr pages heh.

Today is lame. Town Hall is closed because of some Solstice day. Can't progress at all.


My fiancé is doing her town atm. And because shes strange, sold her shoes and socks, because she's strapped for cash. What an odd thing to do in a town where bugs and fruit are everywhere.

Finally paid off my home, now to see if acceptance is at 100%, when I can check in tomorrow. Tired of these balloon furniture pieces as well.
 
It doesn't look like anyone else has mentioned this, so I'll give it a shot. The island is a goldmine if you kill everything but the palm trees. Hunting beetles after 7pm I earned something like 350k in an hour.

but i'm curious - do people design those themselves and just post 'em on the internet, or are they hidden costumes or something? if the former, how do they get the qr codes?
